z in german is pronounced 'ts' ... of course that still doesn't sound

I'm sure this was already covered a long time ago, but I must
have missed the thread. What exactly does "Space-dye Vest" symbolize in
the song (at least to everyone's best guess)? Thanks!

I personally enjoy Blueprint of the world alot. They sound like Rush,
Marillion and DT at some point on the CD. But they have their own sound
for sure. I hope they tour with DT in North America.
Also check out their new CD call Wounded, it's comming out on Magna
Carta May 20th I think.

Blueprint of the World and Wounded are two different albums. Wounded has
more of an edge to it. The thing that struck me about Blueprint was that
the drums sounded a lot like Rush Moving Pictures era drums, in their
tone and even in the playng. The band is very good. A nice progressive
band. I would get both albums. They probably won't disappoint. If you
are looking for metal, though consider passing.

If you like Marillion you'll like these guys. If you like
Rush, you'll like this guys. If you like Cannibal Corpse... Well,

Well... I have the new album, Wounded and I think it's great... IT's not
such much a musical showcase like some of these other albums out there...
so I wouldn't recommend it if you're really into wank metal (Symphony-X,
Angra) although I like those too!!! If you don't like Marillion, you
might not like Enchant...
Wounded is much more mature then Blueprint I think... If you read the
biography of Enchant at: www.ccnet.com/~theoasis you'll realize that
Blueprint is more of a collection of songs then anything.

Hey guys,
So last night on IRC I was real bored and started wondering about the legitimacy of Dr. Mosh's PHD. I wanted to know. So this is what went down during this conversion...properly edited by me (Parallels).
<Parallels> so, do you take care of the people who get injured in the mosh pit? <Parallels> or do you fix the people who don't know how to mosh <Parallels> like, a mental doctor or something <Xanadu> hah <DreamEvil> You tool. <DreamEvil> He's got a doctorate in moshing. <Parallels> impressive <DreamEvil> He's a title of achievement. <Parallels> quite impressive <DreamEvil> :) <Dr_Mosh> Yes... I understand all aspects of moshing <Dr_Mosh> My speciality was in the counterclockwise opposable mosh <Parallels> do you know reverse moshing pythagorium theorum? <DreamEvil> 'was', Mosh? <Parallels> ok I'm going after this song <Parallels> don't worry, I'm not listening to APSoG or ACoS or something <Dr_Mosh> well, you see, that was my thesis... it was done on the force of opposing mosh directions... <Parallels> so is that like the Juggernaut versus the Blob debate? <Parallels> the old "unstabble force" versus the "immovable object" <Parallels> how would that work in a Mosh pit? <Parallels> unstopable too <Parallels> tell me, doctor <Dr_Mosh> well, you see, we came up with the "typhoon" technique of implementation... <Parallels> Heavenly Shades of Death <Dr_Mosh> When the typhoon is implemented correctly... one can scatter a directional moving force into it's sub-vectors <Parallels> fascinating <Dr_Mosh> therefore creating a sort of inverse vortex of chaos <Dr_Mosh> heheh <Parallels> can I send this to the jam? <Dr_Mosh> sure! <Parallels> cool
There you have it. I hope you never doubt again the knowledge contained in the Doctor of Moshing's brain. Discuss.

DId anyone who heard QR on Rockline catch what the set list might be like (apart from "half the HitNF songs")?? Just wondering..
Anyways, I've been checking out the possible QR openers that were listed and even tho it sounds like DT is "impossible," so is almost every other band!! I was hoping Itd be Tool but by the time QR is in Phoenix Lollapalooza will be well under way! And just think.. With DT starting to record, what is it, next week?? Awake and I&W both took about 2-3 months to record, and I dont think all the material was worked out and road tested as much as it has been for the new stuff, if it all (Please correct me if Im wrong)!! So I dunno, Im HOPING that maybe the guys know this material SO well that they just burn through it and get it done in order to do at least a few QR dates (PHOENIX PLEASE!!!!) : ) And if they arent finished, who knows?? Maybe theyd be willing to take a few weeks off to do some shows with QR, even just in Phoenix would be fine with me.. : )

Hello, okay, I'm going for the last resort here. I belong to a group at my campus that deals with any topics of relationships. what I'm looking for is anyone who has a copy of the concert played on Lifetouch by Tori Amos, the one to support RAINN. I think it would be an asset to the group, to use in future presentations we plan on making. I just heard from our advisor that we recently got a grant to buy a multi-media computer, and lots of other things, to use for our presentations. if anyone out there has a copy, I'll pay any reasonable costs they ask! thanks, Dave Boland, of AWARE the AWARE webpage (it's new, please, be kind! and it has to run on a vax system!): http://bigvax.alfred.edu/~aware

Well I was sitting in my room getting ready to catch the last few minutes of my first class and in bursts my friend George. He says "I got the new Magellan and it rocks! Want to listen to it on your system?" So I give him the okay and he is back in a flash. He pops it in and it starts groovin. I was throttled to say the least, they have matured majorly, they are extremely tight, even with the human drummer. The drummer really adds to it.
I am currently in the middle of my second listen to it and am likeing what I hear. The vocals are still incredible, the harmonies still get to me and the music is more intricate than ever. They get some serious grooves goin on on this thing. Plus they even have a new version of "Critic's Carnival" on it with the live drummer (a song which I have been eagerly awaiting since ProgFest '95). Over all this thing really grooves everyone should check this disc out.

I've been lurking around for a while and I thought I would post a couple of items.
First of all I got my DTIFC package a while back and it's great, they even included the x-mas cd. The comments on the intro and outtro where hilarious.
Also picked up Superior and Lemur voice. SUperior just kicks ass all over(so Bernd, when is the next album coming out ;) ). Lemur voice is also excellent and worth picking up, the only thing i don't like is that the lead singer is so damn hard to understand. you have to have the words in front of you to even comprehend what he is saying. I got both of these off of Knight's of the Round.
I also got Mercury Rising's album which was featured as April's artist of the month on KotR. I haven't seen them mentioned at all on the Jam, but they kick some serious ass. I would say IMO they sound like a cross between Metallica and DT. I'm no expert musician it's just my opinion.
I also got off my lazy ass and ordered some cd's from KTS. Anyone out there who ordered, about how long before you got the package.
one last thing the FW is great, I didn't care a great deal for the previous stuff but APSoG is a great album.
well that's about all, i'm now switching back to lurker mode.
