Well...any of you who have heard about my turmoil lately will be happy to
know that I have accepted a position just outside Boston. But, on the
negative side that means that the new dragonlady material is getting
scrapped ( it just isn't the same without Jesse)
Now that Im starting over I'm looking to hear what anyone might have to
offer me about the music scene around here. I haven't the foggiest clue
    where to start.
I'm also going to be searching for people to work on a new project...So
if you play and are itching to work with a killer female singer. Drop me
a note and I'll get back to you in a few days :)

PS sorry D Man....can't hit NY this weekend. Gotta unpack here :P

Wishful thinking is exactly what it is. School might be ending,
but I'll still be on here (unless Skadberg kicks me off). I might not post
as much, though. (But then again, I might.)

This is really funny. How can I contact (or join) this Network?
I've been wondering what is whispered/mumbled in the background of "The
    Camera Eye" for years.

Am I the only person who heard Chris DeGarmo and Geoff Tate on
_Rockline_ last night? They did an acoustic version of "Bridge" live in
the studio. They also said the following:
the ears in the album artwork will be part of the concert visuals.
"All I Want," DeGarmo's lead vocal debut, will probably not be part
of "the first group of concerts" they are planning, but almost all of their
songs are played at some point, so "never say never."
they plan to play about five or six (or "half") of the songs from
_Hear In the Now Frontier_ in concert (at least on the first leg of the
    tour).
contrary to rumors on the internet, they plan to stay around after
    this tour and continue.
they never consciously decide whose songs get represented on the
album; they select what the band as a whole decides represents what they
    want to put out.

and more. I have it on tape (so-so quality) if anyone is interested.

Sorry for the NDTC, since I don't post often, but I just got the Japanese
import "Angra-Holy Live" and it just blew me away. The only negative is, the
CD clocks in at a little over 35 minutes. But an excellent version of
'Carolina IV" plus other songs from "Holy Land" are highlights of the CD.
Anybody on LI can find it at Slipped Disc Records in Valley Stream. It's
$24.99 (kinda steep for a 35 minute CD, but I had to have it). Slipped Disc
also has all of the Stratovarius releases, including most of them on Japanese
import. I did find the domestic release of "Episode" and it's very good as
    well.

    Take care,
    Adam

Saturday night, email me (d-man@dreamt.org) or Skadz (skadz@dreamt.org).
    Here are the tentative plans:

Who: A whole bunch of us, hopefully (21 or older, tho)
What: Wearin' Ytse, drinkin a lot, and scarin the straights
When: This Saturday, May 11, around 10:00 or so
Where: McQuade's Pub, N. Park Ave, Rockville Centre
Why: Cause Skadz and I are gonna be home at the same time, for once

Be there or be left out! Guaranteed to be "the inside joke" for at least

I'll have to agree 100 % on this one. Symphony-X is undoubtfully, IMO,
the most pleasant surprise I have had this year ( musically speaking ). Their
sound is unbelievable! I just cant wait for their new CD, probably coming around
September... Those of you that still don't know them, what are you waiting for?
You won't regret it, I promise...

    >Stratovarius:Visions

I have just bought their album "Episode" and I really liked it. Can anyone tell
me what Stratovarius CD I should buy next? I'll probably buy "Visions" still
    this
    week...

I can most definatly deny it. I'm a Canadian, a Newfie to be precise, and I
picked up my copy of APSOG today which is, I beleive, the first day it came
out here. I've heard it a couple of times already and even though I've

a ts. It sounds like they could be chanting tsug-a-ba. Makes sense to me.

Hello Jammers. I'm looking for something. I've got a web page, and I'd
like to add one or two links to DT pages. I know that from 99.9% of
these pages, a person can find a link to every other DT page on earth,
so I figure one or two will be fine. So...if anyone has a DT page that
they wouldn't mind me adding a link to from my page to theirs, please
e-mail me (rickbond@concentric.net) a message with your URL in it. I
know this isn't a great privilege, and maybe no one cares, but that's

e-mail me and tell me what a shmuck I am or something. Anyway...

         Hi,

Several people have been asking me if I have something to trade.
And to speed things up, here is my list of Metallica bootlegs.
Currently, I'm very interested in anything by Metallica and Dream
Theater, and now I *HAVE* some bootlegs by Dream Theater, but
only 2. So, if you'd like to help a newbie... :-)

More information can be seen at my bootleg home page, where this
list cames from (information such as videos, my trading rules
etc) or by sending an e-mail to rbrito@ime.usp.br. Its address
         is: <http://www.ime.usp.br/~rbrito/bootleg.html>.

         Please, read the rules.

This is probably as likely as Pat Daugherty getting the tapes you owed him. By that logic, only the Ytse-collegians are responsible for "clutter" and flame wars: I think the older (and younger, for that matter) are just as responsible. so much for the lack of flame wars thing...... :P

anyway, what I MEANT was (my wording was off-whack)....that since a lot of people won't be on the 'Jam for the summer, people won't be seeing 5 or 6 'Jams a day like has been every once in a while or 100 messages per day for the ACK mode peoples.........

OK I'm no Kraut jammer, but I know for sure they're chanting ZUGABE

in German, it stands for "supplement", "extra". i.e. asking for an extra song

You can hear such chanting at the end of Running Wild's "Ready for Boarding" CD or Sabbat's "The End of the Beginning" live video. I also hear it often when I go to gigs in the German part of Switzerland.

Hehhe...I wonder if the crowd will chant on that part as on the CD during the shows. That'd be cool. That chanting part on the CD gives me the shivers each time !!

Jason, Kevin: hope to see ya guys at a couple of FW gigs in Germany ?

I'm looking for recommendations for places to order CD's, preferably places that deal in more obscure/hard to find music (much of which is discussed on this list). Also, any recommendations on places in the SF bay area that's a good place to shop would also be welcomed. Since I moved here from LA I've yet to find a place I like (I've been buying CD's only when I go to LA, but I need a new music fix more often). Thanks!

    Hi my penfriends,

I just came home from a guitar clinic John did in Treppendorf/Germany. He told everybody right from the start that he wasn't feeling very good and that maybe he ate something wrong. He played to his DAT-recorder. Some of the new songs with the voice cut out (Lines in the sand, Burning my soul, Speak to me...) his Sega-Stuff and Purple rain from Prince. In the end, after one and a half hours, he said he really has to finish now because else he would throw up on stage. John went straight out of the hall, where an ambulance was waiting to carry him to the hospital. I really hope it's nothing serious. If any of you guys is in touch with the management or anyone, please mail me when you know how he's doing. Hope I didn't ruin anyones day. Take care Gernot
