Sorry Andrew for my comments. I apologize because I should have privately
e-mailed you and not "Tarnished" you image. I guess it is kinda like having
a bit of a squirmish with a family member, and then finally seeing him two
months later at a normal get-togther, and telling everyone my side of the
story instead of confiding in that person beforehand. I also apologize to
any member that is you friend whom I may have offended. Maybe I should think
before posting without realizing that I could "Tarnish" a well-respected
family member here. There is a lesson to be learned in this matter for
myself. Man, I hate kissing ass. I guess I'm still Learning To Live.

not talking about "Instrumental" talent of course... I'm talking about vocal talent... I hate the group (songwise), but as an acappella performer myself, they do have a great talent for harmonization, control, and blending.

I believe I read somewhere on the web that Track 5 "Burning My Soul" (on FII) was supposed to be the radio station release? Although a good song, I feel track 9, "Just Let Me Breathe" should be THE radio release and promo. **(((DID YA HEAR THAT ELEKTRA??))**

I called 96 Rock here in Atlanta (404-741-9696)to request anything off the new FII cd, and was shot down. a big fat "NO". Not in the studio. I believe there is more to it than Dream Theater fans calling local stations around the country requesting Dream Theater to get airplay. THE RECORD COMPANIES are responsible. What...a new CD out and no big tour set up yet? Not even a small tour? I wonder how many radio promo cd's the label sent out to stations? Sure...we the fans...can step it up and do our part. Let's call the radio stations with request and faxes. Even if they say "NO", I believe it still can help.

Just some things to think about...

    Call your local stations now.

In JLMB, there is a lyric that says "Just close your mind/You can find all you need with your eyes."

In TTT, there is the part that says "Close your eyes/You can find all you need in your mind."

Of course, Shai's post was showing Doc that even the States produce bad music. Being intelligent, dumb, kind, unkind, talented or not has nothing to do with nationality. The States have offered great and terrible bands, like any other place could have done the same.

Just look at great (wo)men in World History and you'll see that there are things that transcend those political labels created by our society.

Does anybody have more info about this project?

    Hey guys,

I just got back from the Florida Drum Expo here in Tampa. The drummers lineup for the Expo: Dom Famularo (famous clinician), Danny Carey (Tool), Raul Rekow and Karl Perazzo (Santana), Giovanni Hidalgo (possibly the best percussionist ever), Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Terry Bozzio and Simon Phillips. And guess who decided to fly down and show up? Mister Mike Portnoy himself, proving that he is indeed a lover of the instrument he plays. He said that people in Florida are really lucky to be able to have those sorts of festivals in here, while people like him have to fly a couple hours to see that :-)

I got my ticket signed by Mike, who was really cool and talked to a bunch of fans that came up to talk to him.

He also participated in the jam at the end, on Dom Formularo's kit (which was the smallest kit on stage, unfortunately). But Mike did manage to go and play on Terry Bozzio's kit for a bit (I kid you not: Terry is using 34 cymbals, plus FIVE different hi-hats - I have his setup printed out to prove it). And by the way, Terry Bozzio is also possibly the best drummer in existence. All those other drummers were phenomenal (Simon Phillips surpassed any expectations I had, and I already knew he was REAL good). But Terry did things twice as difficult than anybody else there. And I'm not the one that said that (I'm just a stupid singer), it was my drummer friends...

I thought I'd share that with you, since I'm sure I don't know of any jammer drummers in the whole state of Florida, so most likely I was the only jammer there (besides Portnoy ;D).

    L8r,

    Christian.

I just checked their page, www.lupos.com, and first of all, have nothing about DT mentioned there, but for their on-line ticket purchases, they go through TicketMaster...

Anyone know if they are a general admission place, or seats? Their web page states that they are "Rhode Island's best live entertainment nightclub," which would make me think that it is GA, but not sure...

Also, kinda funny that someone brought up the question about making a DT mix, as I am making one myself right now as I speak... My biggest problem is getting enough time, b/c I want to include Trial Of Tears, and only have 2 mins left on the CD, big dilemma. Here is what I have on mine:

    Metropolis Learning To Live

    Erotomania Voices Scarred

Peruvian Skies Hell's Kitchen Lines In The Sand

Big question is, do I drop HK/LitS for Trial Of Tears, and add another stack...

Hello, I just wanted to address what Chris Bellardine posted to the jam. First off Chris, my first post upon returning to the Jam was this:

Subject: Hello all... Date: Tue, 16 Sep 1997 14:01:43 -0700 ]From: Buck Stodgers <stodgers@nations.net>

Hey there, Yeah, I'm finally back here as if any of you really cared. Hello to all those who might have missed me. I suppose I have some explaining to do though. First off, my pending trades are in the mail as of this week. I apologize for the delay, but it couldn't be helped. Those with concerns, please mail me privately. I'll be more than happy to reassure you.

You can see that was two weeks ago, so your tapes went in the mail last week. And I say tapes because I put in something extra for you, Chris, as an apology for the delay. I don't regret that at all, despite your unwillingness to contact me personally and privately. On a similar note, yours was not the only trade that was interrupted by my moving, so I would like to again apologize to Swifty and Mika for the delay to them also. Both of them contacted me privately, but I thought the Jam should know I WAS AT FAULT HERE. I held up the trade at my end due to unforeseen financial circumstances that were inexcusable (I drank more than I could afford to). Chris's attitude was not unwarranted, but I think you could have mailed me privately Chris. And thank you Rogerio and D-Man for your defense. Hopefully Chris will feel better this time next week. :) -- ______________________________________________________________ "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter..." -Yoda, the Jedi Master ______________________________________________________________ Andrew Forcier a.k.a.
