Well, I just got back from seeing Tony MacAlpine at the Roxy in
Hollywood... he is insane... don't know who was more insane, Eric Johnson
or him... both were sick... Some italian dudes were there, so I asked
him, "What bands do you listen to?" and he replied, "Dream Theater"... I
thought, "man, that's fucking cool..." but he didn't know about Angra or
Fates Warning or any of those other bands... not even Time Machine, an
Italian progmetal band... A progmetal band called Affusion was the act
right before Tony came on, and they were pretty impressive actually...
    heavy too...

Bootlegs: heh, I hate hypocrites who say, "I don't condone bootlegs, but I
record everybody..." pull your head outta your ass...

That guy Chris Merlo keeps talking about family... man... I hate to think
I'm related to him, or Syrinx... :)

Well, I *am* a demented maniac :-) but I can't take credit for running the Freaks list. I *do* run the Marillion webring, which has about 30 Marillion and/or Fish sites.

For those who are interested in hearing Marillion samples, there is a page on "Itchy's Homepage" that has links to real audios on other sites (47 Marillion samples and 7 Fish samples)... The URL for that page is http://www.prognosis.com/itchy/samples.htm

I haven't heard any of them *myself*, because I have the all the albums already :-) So I have no idea how long the samples are, and how their quality is.

To answer your question about Lupos. It is a much smaller club that is located parallel to the Strand on the other block.

As far as Mike Bahr's CDs: Yea they are GREAT!!! but if your name is the end of the list of people receiving a copy it takes longer because he is using his own CD-R writer to make each CD and with a 4x writer, It takes about 20 minutes to make a CD. So with all the CD projects he has he can only make a few a day with work.

Hey all, after ~8 months of hiding behind bins and monitors I'm finally outta lurk mode (not for long, I promise) and there are a few reasons for this:

    1) FII... (bet none of you guessed that) 2) I got my Seven Wonders CD the day after I got FII =) btw great job Ryan. Excellent service, fast delivery, and great boots. (TTT w/ extended outro, Silent Man (elec), Eve, TLF, Tears...I'll be typing all the songs out if I don't stop here) and 3) Op777's great news about DT coming down under sometime. YEAH!!

I'm hoping that I will be able to do what you ppl in other countries are doing, driving everywhere to catch their concerts within a 1000km radius, and maybe meet a few fellow aussie jammers on the way.

Well, that concludes my first post, I'll disappear now.

    Take care everyone.

Isn't TJ the place upstate somewhere where Fates had an absolutely *awful* go of it, because the club was so horrible? I remember hearing about a pool table in the middle of the floor, something about the house lights, etc etc... If I'm wrong, then by all means correct me, but if this is the place, I'd recommend that people instead make the road trip to Birch or Toad's to see this show.

    Hi, jammers!!

]From the first time I got to listen to ToT I could hardly understand what you guys liked there - but now I got it!!! That is probably the best song of all FII... LaBrie's voive is absoulutely oustanding here!!! And they all perform here as on I&W - this song really reminds me of that time... No more words on it!!

Btw, as it is the end of the week, let me present you my own top-ten this week:

    1. Dream Theater - Falling Into Infinity 2. Dream Theater - Live At The Marquee 3. The Free Spirits - Live In Tokyo 4. Royal Hunt - Land Of Broken Hearts 5. Stu Hamm - The Urge 6. Stu Hamm - Kings Of Sleep 7. Jethro Tull - Nightcap (unreleased and rare tracks) 8. Steve Morse Band - The Introduction 9. Jaco Pastorius - Invitation 10. John Patitucci - Heart Of The Bass

Agh, have you ever noticed that JP can mean four great musicians: Jimmy Pland , John Petrucci, Jaco Pastorius and John Patitucci... ======================================= Untie these strings, I'm climbing down I won't let them push me away Change Of Seasons, lyrics by Mike Portnoy Peter Tatischev tatisch@iname.com ========================================

Just because we don't have any rock/metal/prog band over here, and just because all of the local music is alternashit/dance it dosen't mean that you can judge me!

So What?!!?! We have no good music... We have no army... Everybody hates us... Our government sux...

tickets aren't on sale yet. I called the House of Blues and there is a possibility that it could be 21 and over. Of course I am only 20. I guess it changes according to who is playing.

First of all, does anyone else hear striking similarities between the intro to "Peruvian Skies" and Metallica's "Bleeding Me"?

Also, does anyone know, or have a list of, who sings back ups on which songs? I want to listen for JP and MP's voices, but Im not sure where to listen. Im pretty sure they sing on BMS, but Im not sure.

BTW, LiTS is an INCREDIBLE song. Straight out of I&W era, but with more knowledge and wisdom. An instant classic, right up there with LtL and ACOS in my book.

I will never love an album as much as I&W, but FII might come close : )
