Just ordered Enchant and Shadow Gallery CD's... Thanks to Dr. Mosh for
providing the ear candy page... definitely opened me up to other prog out
there besides the more "popular" ones...
I do have 1 question though... After ordering the above CD's (from the
music finder computer), I was unable to find anything on Angra... Is there
any way to order these CD's? Checked with some of the old Import books as
well, and met up with no success.

Hi all!
I went to Hastings as I couldn't take watching my poor Braves fall apart
on themselves (bad news part). Poor defense and poor hitting put too
much pressure on their pitching staff. Shit! I've been a fan since
1982, so I deserve all these good years. I just wish they'd win the
series (let alone get into it) more often....
Well, onto the good news: Hastings is where I bought my DT CD back on
the 23rd. They told me they only ordered something like 9 copies. I
remember it was under 10. Well, a week later, I went to buy FII for a
friend's birthday, and I bought the last copy there. Now, today they
have a shitload of FII's!!! There must've been 20 or more. So, the word
must be spreading about how great this CD is, and how it's going to be a
popular hit.....
Most excellent!!

Guilty as charged. For those non-engineering/CSci people,
a Turing Machine is basically a computer that makes the
right decisions even when given insufficient data. Surprisingly,
they don't really exist, so you can't make an EQ with one. :-)
But if you could, it could fix lossy compression. Or even lousy
compression. :-)

Actually, this seems like a mild acusation. once anything becomes popular
it seems to atrct idiots. im a cinic by the way. not that all prog fans
are idiots, but many people are affected by a lack of there own opinion.
in this collective world it is very difficult to find integrity. when it
is found attempts are made to destroy it. im talking about the seond
hander. the people who have sold their sole to the people around them for
a reason i can not identify or understand. What makes a band progressive
in my opinion is exactly what rush did after caress of steel. they said in
a nutshell or a song if you will, that would not "prostitute" their dreams
for money, the collective opinion, even for fame and world popularity. NO
COMPERMISE! this to me is a progresive band. any, and i mean anybody who
trys to change or altar this any band has done or means or critisizes them
is just a second hander, and THAT is an accusation! no one has the right
to change or alter any thig anyone has created. if you are a true prog
fan, than you will be able to see true objective beauty in a band and that
will be enough, but if you make any of the comments that mike has given
witness to, you might want to take a look at you whole existance, because
you will see if you are honest which you are probably not capable of, you
would see that you are not worthy to listen let alone speak of bands like
rush, dt etc. you deserve to be with that emty headed mtv crowd. you will
of course respond to that with "hey i watch mtv".
as for your complaint mike. hope fully prog will stay just unpopular
enough to avoid being consumed by collective pop culture. and thus we wont
have to deal with the comments you described anymore.

The tv whine was intentional. Between each of the samples, you can
pick out a tiny burst of static, with a long fratz after the part
about the swimming pool.
To better imagine this, watch or listen to "The Wall". Between "Don't
Leave Me Now" and "Another Brick in the Wall Part III", Pink is trying
to lose himself in his tv shows. Nothing he sees can keep his mind off
of whatever is eating at him, and his channel changing becomes quicker
and more desperate until he finally goes berserk.
SDV has a similar set-up, with the singer being the person watching
the tv, trying to find something to get his mind off of the girl the
song is about and his other emotional worries, and failing not quite
so miserably. Remember, this song was originally done solely by
Kevin Moore.

Boy! what a mistake!. I have Tempest's fisrt CD on Magna Carta and I didn't
like it. It is like Celtic prog. or something like that. I could bought
some Genesis stuff instead of Tempest. I made a big mistake thinking that
Tempest would be something like Enchant, Lemur Voice or Shadow Galery! :(

drumming. When I listen to Rush I don't sit there and analyze every second
of the song. I enjoy it. In fact, I enjoy the FUCK out of it!! Rush's

Loren, couldn't agree more! As someone who writes, I too sit back and
reflect on the lyric part of RUSH before the music. If people took a second
to really LISTEN to what's going on there, they would hear more than just
those nice Time Sigs. I really enjoy listening to instramentals such as
LTTA because they are examples of the talent RUSH has musically. To listen
to LTTA closely, is a really moving experience. All the sounds producing
a very moving piece of music. But aside all the drumming, bass, synth, etc..
there is the lyric portion that Geddy gets to express. IMHO, the lyrics are
the best part of the song because Neil Peart delivers thought provoking
messages in EVERY song he authors.
