Yah, but it would be funny, wouldn't it? If one is to look at the website
I (being the 'whoever') pointed out -- it says it's called "Yes", twice
actually. Here's the quotes if anybody didn't feel like checking for
themselves. It's labled as "OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE!", and who's to *not*
believe an exclamation point? Ah, the quotes...
>The new disk, titled simply YES, is due on November 25th on Beyond Records,
>"This is another great chapter in the saga of Yes," says long-time member
Chris Squire. "We came of age in the '70s and had a rebirth in the >early
'80s. And now with our new album, Yes, we're feeling stronger as a unit
than we have in a long, long time. And I think it's going to be >contagious."
So I go to Notes From The Edge, and, apparently all that's been changed
now. My info was out of date, I'll admit it. The new title is "Yes Yessy
Yes Yes The New Yes Album Yessum Yessiree". I kid you not (although, IMHO
that's a lameass title - put me on the record, there, bookkeeper). And
Roger Dean, since he's now in the hospital with testicular cancer, was
forced into letting his five-year old son, Dean "The Drooling Machine"
Dean, do the cover art in his place. Dean Dean's work has been compared in
many artsy circles to that of a young Jackson Pollack on a wicked acid
trip. Either that or Kikomiko, New York's own Painting Gorilla. See, this
is research I should've done in the first place *before* I made a fool of
myself in public! I apologize for wasting everyone's time...

Hi all!
As there were a few people mentioning our band and talking about
that they wouldn't know what's up with us... here are a few news
about SUPERIOR. :)
We are still working at the new songs for our 2nd album that will
probably be out in March/April next year. We'll be in studio again
in January and record 11 songs for this one. I don't know 'til now
if they will all appear on the CD but at least 10 will definately
be on it. We wanted to go to studio in December but this wasn't
possible for some reason.
In November we'll do a tour with Vanden Plas in France. Two
weeks on the road again. Finally! :) Maybe we'll be able to
add another concert in Italy (Milano) but that's not confirmed
'til now. For tourdates have a look at our site at
http://gaia.owl.de/~fine/superior.html
If there are any questions about the band just feel free
to email me at basmer@med-rz.uni-sb.de
DTC: I still love FII. :)
Bye
Bernd

Try living in Bismarck, North Dakota. We don't have a fucking rock

DT beacuse it's too heavy. Yet they play some Metallica. What a bunch

Has anybody else noticed the re-used keyboard 'riff' in Just Let Me
Breathe from "Learning to Live?" It's used right at the end, sounds
to me just like the one used in "Learning to Live" as well as "Wait
for Sleep." Somebody tell me I'm not crazy. :)

Metallica has gotten to that stage where they are as acceptable as your
every day "pop" music by radio stations and to them is no longer considered
"metal" (because NO...they couldn't play metal!). Megadeth has sortof
gotten to this stage, too. I hear Metallica so much on Rock 103.5 here in
Chicago that I can hardly stand them anymore. (*groan* ... "not ANOTHER
Metallica song!"). Besides, they usually only play the later stuff (Load,
Black album). Where's the Kill 'em All, RTL, or MOP?
Anyway, I have to recommendations for anyone in the boonies...download that
real audio and check out one of the following:
http://www.hardradio.com
http://www.rebelradio.com
For Rebel Radio, Dream Theater is listed in their play list (and they seem
to be pushing them a bit, note the "Keep an eye on these heavy hitters!!!"
section of their playlist - http://www.rebelradio.com/playlist.html ).
Plus you can always call them up and request it.

Christopher P,
Thanks for the info on Angra I might just have to 'invest' in both albums to satisfy my tastes.
You seem to know a lot about a lot of bands!
I didn't mind the new Conception album. I mean, it's no "in your Multitude" by any stretch of the imagination. I also like the singer <Roy Khan??>. He has a powerful but 'real' voice.
I love Cynic. Everything you said was true.
As for Arcturus, the lead guitar is by a bloke named "August" who is in some Norwegian Prog band (who's name escapes me). it is, however, blistering. Another band of that style (but not so shredding)is a Swedish Band called "Opeth". Have you heard?? If so what did you think??
Cheers
Paul D.

This has gone on long enough. You have no idea how domains work, sir.= I've worked at an ISP for over a year, and what Mindspring said is= EXACTLY the normal way of doing things. They risk legal repercussions if= they were to take that domain down, since it's ownedby a user. If you= can't afford full virtual hosting, and you want to run a web page off a= domain, most ISPs offer what's called domain aliasing, which means they= alias domain "X" to their own domain, so that you can use= http://www.domainX.com/~username as your web page. There is nothing= abnormal or immoral about what Mindspring's doing, and besides, it doesn't= belong on the jam.

Weird question:
I'm actually listening to an italian DT bootleg CD called 'Dream out loud' (Where do they always get those names from?). Pretty decent quality, pretty good performance, pretty nice LaBrie-blunders :)
What I'm interested in is if any of you happen to know where the show took place. It just states 'NY' on the cover, and I think James at one point says something like 'Come on Buffalo'. Could that be? Maybe one of you was even there? The date was 05/18/93, Galactic Cowboys being opener.
BTW, at one point James says: "I don't know, is it just me or this guy here is third class with the guitar?" :)
Hope this isn't in the FAQ :) Thanks, Jan ================================================================== = Jan Ziese = +49 (0) 7738 / 99 858 = jzi@star-ag.ch = ==================================================================

Yes! Yes! Yes!
Reeeeeeeally cool material. The songs are darker, atmospheric, melancholic, depressive. If you're ok with that and with black metal-ish vocals and don't mind hearing *a lot* of acoustic guitars among your heavy metal, definitely get "Morningrise". Masterpiece. I'm writing an Opeth Homepage and I'll put it on-line really soon (I hope).
Hope this helps, Roger...

Hey 'jammers! I've been quiet lately because I'm perpetually 21 jams behind. (That's the limit on my e-mail account before it won't run any programs and says I'm OVERDRAWN. ;) But anyway, I just wanted to know if I'm the first one in this category: crushed FII tape. Yes, my loving husband taped me a copy so I could listen to it in the car (he keeps the CD 'cuz he has a car CD player :P ), and I've been listening to it since the 23rd. Well, last night my player refused to even rewind past a certain point. I was stuck in traffic, so I figured I'd look at it. The tape was bent, crushed, and otherwise mangled for about 20 feet. I don't know what happened! So has anyone else burned through a tape yet? Btw, honey? I need a new tape. ;)
