Ok, how many other jammers besides myself and Madden from the
DC/VA/MD area will be going to the Savatage show next Saturday Oct 18?
Opening will be the jam's own Division (I guess that means Mike Blevins
will also be there...). The show is at Jaxx in Springfield. The same place
Fates played at and probably the same place DT will (hopefully...).
If you are planning to go, talk to Mike Blevins. He'll get you the
tickets without the ticketbastard fee and you will be supporting Division.
When's the other Savatage dates? Just wondering what the set list is
like. Whether there will be a lot from the new album.

Well, I finally got the Japanese version of FII. It comes with a 3" disc
with
TAMP and Speak to Me demos.
StM is pretty good but would've been my least favorite track had
it been on FII. Definately a b-side, imho.
Some differences in TAMP demo:
1. Slower, therefore longer. 6:50 vs 6:03
2. No intro of counting, shaker and tom drums.
Just starts cold with vox and acoustic guitar.
3. An extra line in the bridge, "There'll be no encore after all".
4. A different 3rd verse altogether,
"I was sitting on the edge my bed,
staring at the paper through my tears,
It read "Say Goodbye to Jesus"
The world he left will never be the same." (I made up the puntuation)
5. an extra guitar part (sounds like it's done with that thingie you put
on the strings to keep
them going. I'n not a guitarist) after the first chorus.
6.A fade out that sounds like a music box.
7.James uses a lot more vibrato, hits a high note on the last "Anymore"
and throws in a "Whoaohoh" somewhere, I forgot.
8. Overall, it's heavier especially the keyboards and has less of a
"Living Years"
sound to it.
I'm sure there's more but that's all I could think of right now.

The Savatage mailing list is also having a pre - show at the Franconia

should have one too...

I've heard they're playing THE WHOLE THING. Should be interesting, but
we won't know until Friday or so - this is one of THREE dates on this
warm up tour...

I was thinking about the reason why they aren't releasing the new cd and
it doesn't make sense.
Most Savatage fans already have TSO and aren't going to buy it again anyway.
Therefore the record company will be getting no money until January.
Makes you wonder how record companies even survive with their thinking...

The reason I got was, since there are no bonus tracks or anything, the
label in Japan wanted the time to sell the domestic version of it,
without the US import undercutting the price. Japan is evidently a big
'Tage market.
And, as usual, we get screwed because of it.

The Ytsejam Fantasy Basketball League at espn.com is up and running. The
draft is slated for Oct 29.
If you are interested in joining then go to http://espn.com and purchase
a team. After you have a team join the group "Ytsejam Fantasy Basketball
Leag." the password is "majesty". Then you have until Oct 29 to get your
draft lists set up.
Any questions let me know.

Hey Graham,
What's your attachment to the fan club? I'm just trying to make the point
that the ytsejam was around before the fan club, and we talk about DT
everyday, not just 4 times a year. I'm sticking up for a group that you're
a part of, and instead of arguing logically, you throw insults at me. FUCK
YOU and your tissues. I never attacked you personally, so why should I get
the Hartman finger? If anyone deserves it, its you. You made it a

I don't think that's correct. When Jim left, I'm pretty sure that
Roundtable stayed with Rob Shore, and with DT. As a matter of fact, I
called them the day we heard the news to see if I could get an official
statement from Rob about the split, but a secretary told me they weren't
prepared for that yet. But she definitely answered "Roundtable" and Rob
was still the exec. Things may be drastically different now.

I only got into DT in Aug. 93 when I heard Surrounded (LATM vers) on the Metal
CD magazine free disc. So I was probably unaware of the tours at that point.
Knackers. Wish I'd known. How did the tours go then? Packed out? No-one
turn up? Mabye that's why they can't be arsed to tour the UK again.

After seeing about 1000 of these types of replies to my posts, I must
question what I wrote, or what you're reading. Now mind you, it's 2 days
after I wrote the original posts, and I was pretty fired up then. Now, I'm
calm and collected, and just reading all the replies to my thoughts. The
most common response is "Kai, you're a cheapskate if you can't shell out
$15 for the fan club."
You guys are seriously missing the point. Sure, I can afford $15. And
yeah, I'll probably join the fan club just to get this year's little bonus.
The real point however, is that I feel we are the fan club. But I can't
get any of you to agree with me. Maybe most of you haven't been on here
long enough to remember the days when the ytsejam always had a leg up on
anyone else. I don't feel that's the case anymore, and my posts were
supposed to muster the enthusiasm to get us back to that status. If you're
not interested in that, then I have to say that I'm surprised and
disappointed.
That's it. It was never really about the $15, but the recognition. I
don't know what more I can say, except that the new asshole that Graham
tore me, hurts like a bitch. Thanks man.

What the hell is everyone bitching about DT's management for? I'm getting
the impression people are looking for someone to yell at/blame for some
reason or another. Seriously, guys.. DT's record label RELEASED their CD,
is scheduling tour dates for them, and hasn't dropped them. If you ask me,
that's PRETTY damn good. If I was spiteful, I'd suggest that the fool who
posted DT's manager's phone number should have his phone number posted and
have everyone call him telling him to grow up. Or hey, why don't we post
JP's phone number and have everyone call him up telling him we want more
music. I'm sure that would help. I can understand writing to people who
aren't paying any attention to DT (Letteman, radio stations, etc.) But
calling the people who're feeding DT and telling them we want more? Ugh!
People who are bitching because the Ytsejammers weren't mentioned in the
liners? Hey, get off your fucking soap box, buy ACoS, blow it up to poster
size at Kinko's and hang it on your damn wall, okay? For me, getting new
DT material is reward enough.

Italy?
Where might I find these dates "confirmed" at? I'm not saying you're
incorrect, but I've heard of other locations during these dates. If the
Cnotes page is to be believed 12/2 is Atlanta and 12/4 is the House of Blues
in Myrtle Beach. I'd have to say these US dates seem a bit more viable.
Why would they do just a few shows in the States and then head to Europe for
awhile? It seems more efficient and intelligent to get rid of the US all at
once, or at least do a major leg of the tour here, and then head to Europe,
Japan, Australia, or whereever... Take care...

Hi Skadz,
Well this ain't a complaint but you DO have connections to the band, and
since no one has responded to me post to the jam, here it goes:
I think now's the time to contact the managment/band/Elektra about the
band coming to Israel during the Europian tour.
So, if you have the time, please ask them to stop by in the way to Japan
or something ok? I think at least 800 ppl will come to a show and since
they're playing 200 ppl clubs in the states I think they won't mind a
small audience...
