HEY ytse'sjamers whats up?!!!!!NO KEVIN (not good) o.k let me slow down.
my name is Eric Arnett. I think DT KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kevin Moore was the man. He is what most keyboarders aren't, not to say
that the rest of the band isn't musicaly talented. My favorite drummer is
    Mike Portnoy. James Labrie
and Boby Blitz( from Overkill), are the most influential singers I've
heard. The new era is here see ya in 2000. Eric.

Allright... I have an idea for whoever is interested. I have the first
third or so of that jazzy guitar outro from TLF on the LiT video figured
out. The only problem is... I play the ol' keyboard, and I find it
awfully tough to figure out the blazingly fast stuff on it. If someone
wants to do a joint job on this thing, I'll be perfectly willing (and
overjoyed) to do a trade of information with you. Also, to whoever has
the Sundance Bayshore bootleg (the all-instrumental one), I'd absolutely
KILL to know how to play that INCREDIBLE piano solo in the middle of
Ytsejam. Yeah, that's to all 6 of you who actually HAVE that bootleg. If
you don't have it, I'll trade someone for another boot. Maybe a fix for
    '96 show or something.

    Ok:

I recently got a job doing screenprinting, and I'm just now learning all the
ropes. Of course I went in, day one, with the mentality that perhaps I could
make a ytsejam t-shirt - not to compete with Pat's but firstly because I want
another dream theater shirt and secondly I think a lot of peole might like
one based on the new look. sooooo, I've been working on some designs. I
will be posting these to my web page, more info on that later.

Essentially, this will be a simpler shirt because our equipment is not high
end. It will be a good deal because I will be doing this in my spare time
with equipment that I don't have to pay to use. Basically it will be the cost
of the shirt and postage, but don't hold me to anything because I haven't workedit all out yet.

So if ya'll could gimme input on your thoughts here, why, I'd dig that!
Especially pat, who gets the pleasure of reading this twice. :)

I don't care whether you post to the jam but please CC it to me privately as
well, or just send it privately.

I think these songs are on the 'Guitar Talkin' boot, I have it on tape at
home, the boot is really not worth getting, cept for WAYN and RTK. But
these are supposedly turning up on some of the FII singles in the near
    future ??
The rest of the boot has a couple of tracks from the clinics and some
acoustic stuff ripped straight from MB 'Acoustic Dreams' CD.

I don't know about CME, but I have Where Are You Now on a boot CD,
along with Raise the Knife (the long version, not the 3 min version). :-)

This list was really coming into its own right around the time Awake was released, and I think it was also around that time that James discovered us. C-Man (?) had forwarded the upcoming tour dates to the list, and one of the Jammers had asked him about them. The band at that time had not yet received their own tour dates, and James was astounded (I believe the quote was, "You probably know when I'm going to take my next shit!").

Princess Di's recent death comes convenientlu as an example of people that enjoy some privacy and what lengths they might go to maintain it. Over the next few weeks, from quotes made by Jammers that had talked to him, it begane to appear that James was a bit bugged by the fact that we had so much info on the band and were trading it freely. I could be far off the mark, but it may be that he feels that some people have gone across the line dividing what he thinks should be public knowledge and what should be proprietary to the band or his own private life. One bad thing about Ytse-Jam: You can't spring surprises on people that know more about what you're doing than you do ;)

I have a feeling that the band is going to be phasing out songs where Kevin was most central in writing... This would include Surrounded, Wait for Sleep, SDV... possibly 6:00 and Lie as well.

The band has already said they wouldn't play SDV because it was 'too Kevin'. I don't know what they did during the '96 tour, so maybe they changed their minds.

Eddie Van Halen) Hello...how in the hell are ya Would Eddie like to start with a few opening lines before we take questions? Eddie Van Halen) I'm glad to be here. I'm proud to be a part of the Peavey team. This is only the beginning! The floor is now open for questions. Thank you for coming Eddie. We all appreciate it. The first question is from Yvette. Yvette) Ed: what pedals do you use, and in what sequence do you connect them? Eddie Van Halen) Yvette: That's very difficult to explain here. I use the Bradshaw switching system. Also, I use very simple MXR hard to find stomp boxes Yvette) What compression do you use? And Thanks! Eddie Van Halen) Yvette: none Except when mixing a record Mike Smith/VH SL(9)) Ed, First of all, as the Section Leader for Van Halen here on C-Serve, welcome, I was wondering if it was actualy you that was involved in The Black Star Recording, and what you felt about Bootleg CD. Eddie Van Halen) Van Halen has nothing to do with bootlegs...that's why they are called bootlegs Follow up form Mike? Mike Smith/VH SL(9)) Yeah, I know they aren't his, but does it make him mad, and what about "BLackstar"? Eddie Van Halen) I don't know what Blackstar is...but, it does anger me a bit because we get nothing out of it....It's illegal Kluless) We bought a guitar with your signature on it. We were told it was hand made with the same worn areas and all as yours - True or Not? We Love you in Maryland, and see every VH concert around here!! Eddie Van Halen) Originally, they were computerized to be identical to an old guitar of mine. But...obviously, the more you play the guitar the more the neck is going to wear. Kluless) Just love to you , Val, and Wolf. I can't believe this, I'm so excited!! Eddie Van Halen) thank you very much Eric Raber) Ed, I've heard of an upcoming greatest hits album. Is this true and if so will any Dave tunes be re-recorded by Sammy for it? Eddie Van Halen) This is possible. Yes...it will be old and new Eddie Van Halen) Hey folks...Dweezil Zappa has joined us... Eddie Van Halen) Possibly summertime Thanks. Robert H. Hayward J) What was your sound mans name in the Centrum this last summer? (Massachusettes) And how's your son? I have a 2 year old and I love him more than anything. Eddie Van Halen) Jim Yakabuski...My son is beautiful & a monster as any 5 year would be. Robert H. Hayward J) He's a real nice guy! I got to watch him play with your sound.(POWER!!) Eddie Van Halen) Yes...BTW...it's in the MONITOR mag this month Thomas M. Kuhn) Eddie...........do you miss DLR? Eddie Van Halen) DLR: No, but I think he misses us K Karr) What kind of pickups would you use if you had to go with something stock off the shelf? Eddie Van Halen) Pickups: I wouldn't know since mine are custom made by Peavey. Peavey? Hartley Peavey has just joined us Van Halen (RI) :+)) Eddie, how does it feel to be adored by millions? Eddie Van Halen) Obviously, it's a great feeling....It would be even better if it were billions :-) Thomas M. Kuhn) eddie.......do you have any solo albums in the works? Eddie Van Halen) Every Van Halen record is a solo effort since I write all of the music. And..the future is in God's hands, since I'm just a channel. The music comes from somewhere else. I'm just a vehicle. I'm just a pawn in the game of life. Darin) Eddie, have you heard from David Lee Roth lately? Eddie Van Halen) no Dan LeVasseur) Eddie, why did you drop the Steinberger, a fabulous guitar? Eddie Van Halen) The Steinberger is a fabulous guitar, but it doesn't do everything that I need out of a guitar. It's a specialty guitar. EDDIE V.H LOOKLIKE) hows your hip doing? Eddie Van Halen) My hip: A day to day problem...sometimes good...sometimes bad...today not so good. Van Halen (RI) :+)) Eddie, how do you make such greatmusic?..... Eddie Van Halen) I actually don't...It comes through me. from somewhere. Anyone who claims to have written a great piece of music is full of it because there is a man upstairs who is in control Jason Mollring) Eddie, I would like to get into the Promotion side of concerts do you have any advice? Eddie Van Halen) Jason: Call SRO management and ask for Ray Daniels. Jason Mollring) Do they Manage you? Eddie Van Halen) Jason: yes GEORGIOS FERTAKIS) Any plans for a new European tour? = Eddie Van Halen) possibly in the summer time Darin) Eddie, how did you guys decide on picking Sammie Hagar (I'm a big fan). I think he added so much to the band, we're you friends before he joined? Eddie Van Halen) Hagar: we had a mutual car mechanic....hey folks...got to run...thx so much!
