I can make arrangements for people to get free lodgings. SOMEWHAT
limitted (I can't get more than say... 6 people at my place comfortably...
but I have friends and other options to get you or anyone in need a place to
crash. I just need some advance warning.

    > If I do go to Chicago...I WANNA GET BACKSTAGE!! ANYONE help??

HoB doesn't have a backstage area for this stuff. There are two
possibilities... VIP seating (I have limitted access... I may be getting
myself and my GF VIP seats, but can't get extras) and perhaps an aftershow
(which, in Chicago, generally means they kick everyone out, and those with
special passes get to hang out for an hour or so with the band). In any
event, I would definitly count on being able to meet the band or some
members of the band after they come outside. They've come out to sign
autographs after both shows I've seen in Chicago (The Vic).

    >Oh shit, it said that?! I just got mine yesterday and she told
    >me that the tickets were all general admission.....do we have a
    >confirmation from any Chicago based fans?

It's like any other show DT will play on this tour. There's a set
number of tickets available, and they're all for general admission (Standing
room only, unless you grab a bar stool). If you have a ticket, and an ID,
and you don't trip and hit your head and have to be taken to a hospital...
you will get in. They don't mean "Standing room is all that's left". That
means unless you have VIPs or Backstage (which may not even exist here) the
closer you are to the front of the line on your way in the door means the
closer your be to the stage. HoB is not small, but it ain't huge. Should be
    a good show.

Finally: This is an 18+ show. HoB is not gonna bend unless all you
    >18 jammers pound the hell out of them. Chances are, they still won't bend.
BUT, DT will be playing Milwaukee most likely, and that show may be all
ages.... they may play St. Louis, and they may even hit Chicago again if
this show sells out. Keep in mind also that it has happenened in the past
(Several times) that a band sells out a venue early, and they decide to
change venues to accomodate more people. They could move up to the Vic, the
Riv, or the Aragon here in Chicago... you never know.
Those of you under 21 in areas that are only getting 21+ shows: I
think it's safe to say DT will be playing a couple more shows on this tour.
They may do a full circle and play the same areas more than once. You will
probably get a chance to see them in one way or another. I'm not 21 (13
months to go!) either... I just got lucky with the 18+ show.

Take care, and please feel free to mail me with any questions about the
    Chicago show...

    >About all of you venting your frustrations about recognition (or lack of
    >it) for Ytsejammers, I want to ask you a question. Are we members of this
    >list for the recognition,

No, we're members of this list so we can force our opinions on others.
Sheesh - how long have you been here? :)

    > or to talk about the greatest band on Earth?

(I was going to write Green Day here, but that's a stretch, even for
    ME.)

    > I personally think that recognition would be nice for all of you, but if
    >you
    >don't get it, then it's not the end of the world.

Ytsejam already gets plenty of recognition. It' sthe only list I know of
that is commonly referred to as "That bunch of opinionated assholes..."

Seriously, folks, a mention would have been nice - listening to me about
the choice of producer would have been nicer - but let's face it. We've
got a new album to bitch at each other about, a tour about to happen -
and all we care about is being left off the thanks list? Sheesh, no
wonder they didn't thank us... :)

BTW, I know someone said this already, but did anyone ever consider that
James may not like Ytsejam because HALF OF YOU IDIOTS ARE ALWAYS TELLING
THE BAND TO REPLACE HIM? I wouldn't be too fond of this list, either...

And yes, I know I bitch about the producer all the time. I don't know if
the band like how the album came out or not - but I know that KJL is a
MEMBER of the band, and he deserves a bit more RESPECT from the bands'
so - called FANS than a producer does...

OK, end of bitch. Anyone know any tour dates? :)

VATICAN CITY--In the first-ever union of the Word of God and the
    Synthesizer, the Catholic
Church's College of Cardinals voted unanimously Monday to incorporate the
    lyrics of Yes into the
    New Testament.
The resulting new Bible, the Revised Standard YesScriptures, will
    replace the Jerusalem Bible of
1966 as the standard accepted record and vehicle of divine revelation.
"Let us rejoice in this momentous occasion," said Pope John Paul II in
    a special service at St.
Peter's. "And let no man be unmoved, remembering the words of Jesus: 'In and
    around the lake,
mountains come out of the sky, and they stand there.' Amen."
In addition to a number of new sections, including the four-part Book
    of Bruford (a. Cord of
Life; b. Eclipse; c. The Preacher; d. The Apocalypse), the revised
    YesScriptures will feature a
dazzling, airbrushed gatefold by artist Roger Dean.
Perhaps the most significant change is a more complete history of the
life of Christ. In the revised
account of Christ's temptation by Satan, the Lord and Savior is brought to a
    mountaintop
overlooking a pastel landscape filled with exotic, half-melted rock
    formations and wispy, cloudlike
trees. Christ, though tempted, "can see all good people turn their heads
    each day, and, so satisfied,
    He continues on His way."
Christ's rejection of the Lord Of Lies is then followed by a 16-minute
    keyboard solo by
    synthesizer maestro Rick Wakeman.
"God's word is not always clear, and neither is the path Jesus wants
us to take in life," New
York's Cardinal O'Connor said of the new scriptures. "But when Jesus tells
    His disciples at the Last
Supper to eat of His body and drink of His blood, for 'He can feel no sense
    of measure, no illusions
as He taketh refuge in young man's pleasure,' I as a Christian take comfort
    in these words."
Despite being called for by pro-Yes movements within the Church for
    decades, the decision
marks the first official Catholic acknowledgement of Yes-inclusive language
    and Yes-positive
Biblical interpretations as actually being the Divine Word.
"The Holy See's decision is a victory for progressives everywhere,"
    said Jethro Tull frontman
and longtime Christian Ian Anderson. "The updated Bible passages reflect the
    tremendously
significant role that the concept album plays in our modern lives."
The Catholic Church is not the first religious sect to embrace
    progressive-rock reform. Since
1974, Reform Jews have, as part of Rosh Hashanah services, sung verses from
    The Book Of
Genesis Featuring Peter Gabriel. For years, Unitarian educators have taught
    the works of
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, including Brain Salad Surgery.
Though the majority of Bible scholars are welcoming the new
    YesScriptures, a small minority
    stands strongly opposed.
"The messages in the YesScriptures are rarely clear and almost always
    of questionable morality,"
said Michael Fox, chair of Yale University's Divinity School. "While
    Christ's message may seem
obvious when, in Howe 3:16, He sayeth unto James the Lesser: 'Owner of a
    lonely heart, yea, much
better than thee, O owner of a broken heart,' it is possible that this
    passage contains intended irony
on the part of the Savior, and that the verse actually signifies a message
    of profound sympathy for
    the broken-hearted heart-owners of Mankind."
"The Word of God is the rock upon which we have built the Catholic
    Church," Fox concluded.
    "It is not Fragile."

They could play at Mississippi Nights and to the
best of my knowledge, most, if not all, shows
there do allow under 21 people in, you just have

Well, maybe you DO need people like me telling you, pup, because you seem to have missed the point: it's all about *money*. It's not about you being a moron, or being too immature to handle seeing a band.

Encourage an all ages venue to book DT. Maybe request DT's management book more all ages venues. But pissing about them playing 21+, and getting in a snit about somebody pointing out the obvious (which it probably wasn't, since the person I was replying to wasn't from the U.S.) only strengthens the argument that maybe you _are_ too immature to see DT (which, again, wasn't my original statement).

When all else fails, take comfort in the fact that yes, everyone of legal age _is_ out to keep you young'uns down. That attitude will take you long way.
