    'lo there

Is there anyone who saw DT in TO (Toronto CA) for the Awake tour, if
so, do you remember at what time the show ended? I keep on calling the
warehouse but they don't even seem to know. I would just like to have some
sort of idea because I am planning to bus there from Ottawa but the last bus
leaves To at 12 P.M. and I think DT go live at 10.

Does anyone know the average lenght of time for a show, least 2 hours?

Any info on this would be much appreciated, send mail to

    You're crazy :)

Well, TECHNICALLY, it's a totally different riff, but I can see how it might be considered SIMILAR...

On a related note, I think the "...Living and learning..." lyric of BMS is sort of cool...

I was in London on Saturday and noticed HMV sold them at ukp 14.49, and Tower had imports at the complete rip-off price of ukp 19.99. No sign in Virgin, but they are notoriously crap.

As for them ripping off Gwar of all bands I really doubt it. From what I've heard of Gwar I wouldn't consider them one of the most innovative bands out there. Although the costumes were a nice touch - how do they play with all that shit on?

Ha ha. No. Actually JP is a first class guitarist :). What James said (this might be paraphrased--don't feel like digging out the tape to check) was: "I don't know, is it just me or does this guy's shirt clash with his guitar?" John always wore those funky looking shirts with patterns all over them during the IAW days.

Yeah...I don't mean to say that DT hasn't come out with good lyrics! I thought the whole IAW album was good and that Awake was a real good album lyrically, that was almost as closely-knit thematically,as a concept album. That is just part of my disappointment with this new album. Mabye I haven't spun it enough in the old CD player yet, but nothing in it really moves me. Like in IAW it was Take The Time, and Metropolis, and UAGM. In Amake Scarred really moved me. To a lesser degree so did Lie and LSOAD. Not only that, but I though ACOS was a really moving tune, probably DT's best, for me. This new album is just filler, it seems to me. Especially You Not Me. Compare that to any tune on IAW. I think IAW is like Vai's Passion and Warfare, where you know no matter how long the artist will remain in the business, nothing they ever do will eclipse that masterpiece.

Yes, this show was at the Impaxx Club in Buffalo, NY.

    > BTW, at one point James says: "I don't know, is it just me or this guy here > is third class with the guitar?" :) > > Hope this isn't in the FAQ :)

Heh. Nope, not this time. The only comment on DT boots in the FAQ is a blurb about Mike Bahr and a link to his page. You may not be aware that there is another boot of the same show which goes by the name "Dance of Eternity", not to be confused with "THE Dance of Eternity", the classic I&W show at the Limelight. These two Impaxx Club boots have slightly different tracklistings, but both suffer from lowered pitch, unfortunately.

Oh, and when Dr. Mosh posted the other day about the Limelight show opening his eyes as to how much he likes Kevmo, I think he forgot to mention he was watching a boot video, not just listening to a crappy tape of the show. :)

What really makes this solo so good is the combination of solos (keyboard/guitar). I see it like the key solo is Kev leaving the band, and the Guitar solo is the band moving on....

Does anyone here know Pan-Thy-Monium? Did anyone notice the similarity between the surrounded intro and the song Behrial of off Khaooohs and Kon-Fus-Ion? It is probable that the band have heard Dream Theater since Dan Swanö is a pretty big prog fan... I think everyone should check out Pan-Thy-Monium, they are sort of weird death metal (with saxophone and stuff like that...) If you dislike death metal because of the vocals, be not alarmed since the production puts the vocals way in the back, all death metal should be produced that way, in my opinion...

---- Does anyone know of any Swedish (read: Stockholm, I don't think I'll go down to Malmö or Göteborg to see them [and I call myself a fan... {parenthesis rule}]) dates? Thanks...

I thought it was from an old saying...if people are gonna bitch about that then why not bitch about "a picture worth a thousand words" in metropolis and other references to old sayings that you can find in DT's lyrics...

---- > From: Loren Caler <lcaler@flash.net> > Subject: A hypothetical situation.... > > Now this is just like the title says: A HYPOTHETICAL situation. > > I was just sitting here listining to WDADU and was thinking to myself, "What > if Kevin Moore, after hearing FII, decided he wanted to come back to the > band?" And what if, after putting another album, he would decide again that he doesn't like the direction of the band? What keyboardist would want to join a band that depends on Kevin Moore's mood? Then again, how about having two keyboardists? that could be interesting...

It sounds very familiar to me too...it drives me crazy every time I listen to it, like, "where the hell did I hear this before?"
