I just noticed that DT slipped from 54 to 114 in the charts since last week.
I think that totally blows. I'm really glad my local radio stations took my
15 requests to play some DT. Radio blows. Jewel is still at the top.
There's real talent in that band. Although I do like her voice.

Well, the song is "Pussy Planet" from the album "The Road Behind" - if you
really want, I can post a sample on a website. As for being innovative, not
especially, but once in a while they do something which lets you know that they
can actually play. I just think it's amusing music once in a while, when I'm
really tense and need something to laugh at. "Have You Seen Me" is a great song.
    "Suckle...my bloated love knuckle...like Fatty Arbuckle...I'M GAY AND I'M

I'm rather new to mp3's so maybe someone here can help out... I've
recently downloaded some mp3 samples (off web pages), and some work fine,
but others, upon loading up, seem to be corrupted...The correct song can be
heard (VERY FAINTLY) in the background, but in the (loud) foreground are a
bunch of blips and spatterings of random noise. Anyone else have this
problem? A good example is from the guy who had FII on his webpage
(elender.citadel.something) before it came out... all the FII and
Fix/Kassel clips in mp3 I got fine, however, when I tried to d/l the mp3 of
some band covering DT ("surrounded" by some other band), I had this
problem... same on the shadow gallery page... all the mp3's give me that
corrupted sound... I'm running a PC and using WinAmp (then tried them with
WinPlay and they wouldn't even start playing)... Any ideas? It seems like
too many occurrances to be a fault of the provider..

    Thanks,

    Hi!

George said a few things which I must comment on:

I&W is indeed a lead-dominated album. (BTW you forgot TTT)
Awake is a guitar dominated album - not true.
It sounds guitar dominated because the keyboards are back in the mix.
There are some keyboard solos in Awake (6:00, Scarred), but not as many
as in I&W. But listen to CIAW or Voices. These songs wouldn't be the
    same without the keys.

Write some reviews! And don't complain that they only play for one hour. It seems as if they come back at the 25th of November (tentative date).

The RSABBS site still lists the European dates from April, really hot news. I guess D-Man, Skadz, or someone else will post the dates here and I don't want to clutter the Ytsejam... Look into the THE MIRROR-pages, I will include the updated list in a minute or two.

I heard WGIR play "Burning My Soul" Wednesday night at about 11:30. I thought that station was going down the tubes, and fast. But they just jumped about 10 points in my book :) This is the first time I have heard DT on the radio in a couple years. My GF heard "Pull Me Under" on 94.1 (a station in RI) yesterday. It freaked her out since she was listening to IAW all day. :-)

Someone mentioned that the solo in JLMB alternates between speakers...well to me, the reason would be(correct me if I am wrong) that it is actually a trade off between guitar(left) and Keys (right)...it sounds as if they are doing a sort of echo effect and then in the last run, they play it in unison. Does this sound right to everyone....Derek Korg often sounds like a guitar, which is why I think that there is that trade- off going on...if you listen closely you can distinguish between the two. Got this from http://www.gadiel.com/phish/ :

New Live Album - "Slip, Stitch and Pass" [INLINE] Phish's new CD "Slip, Stitch and Pass" which contains songs recorded at the 3/1/97 Markthalle show in Hamburg, Germany will be released October 28th. One disc - 78 minutes long. Price $12.99 Song List: Cities, Wolfman's Brother > Jesus Left Chicago, Weigh, Mike's Song > Lawn Boy > Weekapaug Groove, Hello My Baby, Taste

As you can see, Phish is finally putting Mike's Song on CD (they've been playing it since 1985). It's worth getting just for that, IMO.

    Good Morning, Jammerz -

Well, here I am, working on only a handful of hours of sleep after getting home at 4:00 A.M. following my road trip to Danbury, CT to see the mighty 'Tage on the opening night of their European warmup gigs! If you are thinking about going to the Jersey or Virginia gigs but aren't sure... GO!!!

This was my first 'Tage show, and I was absolutely blown away. The band didn't play the entire new album, as rumored, but they played a large portion of it, which KICKED SERIOUS ARSE! I don't wanna wait til January to get this in the States! WAAAHHHH!!!! :-)

Anyway, I am usually pretty good at remembering track listings in order, but the new material threw me off last night. So, I'll tell ya what older tunes they played, not necessarily in any order:

]From DWD: I Am (Jon on vocs... messed 'em up bad. Who cares? :-) ) This Is the Time (GOD song!) Dead Winter Dead

]From HOR: Chance (First older song played... I remember that!) Handful Of Rain

]From EOT: Edge Of Thorns (BIG crowd pleaser)

]From Streets: Jesus Saves (2nd old tune played... we helped on vocs! :-) ) Believe (Jon again on vocs... Gave me chills!! Outstanding!!)

]From GB: Gutter Ballet (Set Closer... Jon/Zack vocs... Extremely Powerful LIVE) Temptation Revelation (Chris Caffrey was DA MAN on this one!!! So much so, that Al Pitrelli gave him an "I'm not worthy!" bow afterwards!)

]From HOTMK: HOTMK (Last encore... biggest crowd response... kicked my ass all over the floor!)

I think that's it for the older stuff, but I was rocking pretty hard in the pit - one or two could have eluded me. ;-) I must say that the comaraderie (is that how you spell it?) at a 'Tage show was the closest to a DT show as I've seen. There was a definite sense of "brotherhood" in the air last night. What an amazing 2 Hour experience... Look out, Europe. That 'Tage are coming and they mean business!!!

To those who were there... didn't the Soundscape singer look like Kenny G? I couldn't shake that damn image the whole time they were playing! They were pretty damn good, though. I bought their CD there. Pretty good prog metal, folx. I have to listen to it and see if it's as good as they were in concert.

' Nuff said. Killer show. I'm tired.

Madness Reigns (Still Basking In the Afterglow)... Matt T.
