But I agree with you that words like fuck don't belong in prog lyrics. A song

That was me. Don't even get me started :). I actually played the .ra file
of it over the phone to a friend of mine in Arizona (actually, he was the
one who first turned me on to DT all those years ago) and he was
speechless. AT first I only played him until after the first chorus and
asked him, "Well, what do ya think?" He said, "Put it back on." I said,
"Well, okay, but what do you think?" He said, "Put it back on....NOW!!!"
Afterwards, even with the shitty sound quality, he said, and I quote,
"(silence) Rich, that was the most (silence) incredible thing I've ever
heard." He went on to say that it just might be one of his favorite DT
songs, just on that one listen.
Oh yeah: it's a good thing this song came around when it did. If I
wasn't spending all my free time listening to it, I might have been
    tempted to respond to the
    "Motley-Crue-can't-evoke-emotions-with-their-music-so-they-have-to-swear"
message that was posted here. We wouldn't want that, now would we?

Hi, according to a local Brashs, 'Falling Into Infinity' will be
released in Australia on the 27th of September, not sure if this is an

I have just spoken to a friend of mine that deal with some mail order
company that does A LOT of prog stuff. When he asked about FII the guy
said that it wasn't being released in the UK, but then added he will
be getting some from somewhere and that they will be about $20,
"that's a bit expensive, is that because it's an import" my friend
said "oh it's a double CD" came the reply "I will have it about 5 days
         after the US release date.

I seriously hope this is true, I give it a high probability as this
guy really knows his stuff (according to my friend).

I haven't got a contact number just yet but as soon as I do I will
confirm it myself and let all interested know.

Also he will have the Rudess & Morgenstein project soon.

Actually, believe or not, there's an UPside to Nutscrape hogging the
color map! Not sure about other platforms, but if you run Netscape with
the -install option, it runs with its own, private color map.

At first, this may cause several anurisms as you switch between Nut and
Non-Nutscrape apps. But the UPside is you can see all the subliminal
advertising that you've been missing since about 1969 :)

See, there was this commercial for Lincoln way back when, right? Right!
Over the hood of black Continenta was draped a gorgeous blonde, to
entice you into buying the car. So you figure the subliminal message is
"the possibility of sex sells cars", right?

    WRONG!

What they found out shortly afterwards, was that whenever people saw
large black cars driving by, they immediately wanted to have sex...

    Powerful stuff, eh?

This post was brought to by the number 69 :)

    Buh bye,

    JP

I don't know which interviews you've read/seen, but in my experience, Geoff seems to be a cool person. I've met him twice in person, backstage at shows, and both times he was very friendly, chatting up with the fans and taking a lot of pictures. On Politically Incorrect, he didn't actually say much...I think he preferred to watch the politicians bitch each other out. :) And the day before the HITNF tour in Chicago, they had a radio interview/contest, and I sat there and laughed through most of it! (especially when the DJ got him to say "empire") Maybe he's been cranky a few times (hey, the band's been together for about 15 years, there are times when you're going to get sick of hearing the same questions) but, from my experience, the whole band is very cool. So there are my 0.0125 cents....

Now that's very interesting. I got an update from them almost two weeks ago, and batting number one in the "Open for Adavance Ordering" section was FII. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe you need to try another music category. I don't remember what mine is, but it's probably something like Hard Rock/Metal.

And in other news, BMG's album selection this time around was a two disc sampler from Metal Blade. It's got two tracks by FW including APSoG II, a track by GC (Evil Twin), and a track by Helstar. I'll be sure to post a review when it arrives.

I'm a keyboardist from centre Finland and I'm looking for a heavy band. Of course, the style should be something like DT, but also straighter line is OK.

My other favourite bands are: Stratovarius, Black Sabbath, Fates Warning, Savatage etc.

So, if You are from Finland and lookink for a keyboard player, I'm the one for You!

    Hi all

once again I'm looking for some info about a band. This time, the band comes from America and is called 'Tesseract'. Their web page describes their sound as 'pompous dinosaur progressive art rock'. They also use analog keyboards and a violin. Has anybody seen them or heard the album? Considering how much I like Spock's Beard, this could be a band for me (their favourite links on the web page also include ELP, Genesis and Gentle Giant). Please help!

The second point: my trusty CD dealer has just sent me an e-mail (now that's what I call service) to let me know that the new Vanden Plas album "The God Thing" has arrived, and that he expects to see me later this afternoon. Expect a review in the next couple of days.

stay safe and happy listening Neil Gallop (nga@software-ag.de) Currently playing: Lake Of Tears - Headstones

Does anyone know whether there are some DT notes in the market - for keyboard? I have looked for a long time, but I've reached only guitar tablatures. So, if you know some notes, plese, contact me!

I love it. No doubt about it. It's intelligent writing, with a good mix of shred and melody. (After all, shredding *is* melodic, it's just played at light speed) I feel that most of the time I'm saying, "Hey - that's exactly what I wanted to hear right there." In my earlier guitar playing days, solos were just noise that I couldn't play. As years passed and I improved speed and agility I found I could crank out solos like some of the people I was listening to at the time. Petrucci certainly puts up a great challenge because of the length and clarity of his runs, and as far as what I look for in style, he delivers. Thank you for listening to my life story. :) · • Colonel Mustard • ·

You know, I just started thinking back to when I grew up (back when the thought of any Year 2000 software problems were a joke :) How little it actually mattered if the groups we were into got airplay!

We already had the albums and we went to see them live when they came around. We all hung out together, played the music and just didn't care what other people thought or why they couldn't get into it. It wasn't our goal to enlighten the world. But they played it on the radio anyways :) As much as we tried to stop them :)
