    Hey, gang.

I have the double-disc version of "Holy Land" (with the extra 3-track
EP) that I want to get rid off (you know, spring cleaning). So, if anyone
wants it (let's say for between $25 and $30), email me.

I don't remember this being mentioned here before. For info on the
"lounge" version of UAGM played after the shows last year, go to:

    http://www.mediusvision.com/kosaku/yikaudio.html

There's even some samples of the song! Kosaku even says that they're
considering (along with Mr. Portnoy) getting an album of this stuff
released, and leaves his e-mail addy. Definitely something to be checked
out! "Strangers In The Sand" is great!

    I second that!!!!!!!!

I know its completely out of your hands Mike, but I had to go to the Galaxy
show last year also because of the 21 and up age limit at the House of
    Blue's concert.

I also missed the San Diego show. I work downtown just 2 blocks from 4'th &
B but couldn't go to the show because of the 21 and up age limit!

I'm 20 also!!!! Arghhh! Well I guess the Galaxy is better than nothing!!

A little while ago, I asked two questions of the members of this
list-serve, and I'd like to post the results:

    1. What is your favorite DT song?

A Change of Seasons 5 votes
    Scarred 3 votes
    Metropolis 2 votes
    Learning to Lvie 2 votes
    Take the Time 1
    Space Dye Vest 1
    Status Seeker 1
    Voices 1
    Hell's Kitchen 1
    Under a Glass Moon 1
Burning My soul/Hell's Kitchen/Lines in the Sand

    2. Assuming DT is your favorite band, what group would you choose as your
    second favorite?

    Rush 3 votes
    Savatage 3 votes
    Spock's Beard 2 votes
    Angra 2 votes
    Opeth 2 votes
    Iron Maiden 1
    King Crimson 1
    Saigon Kick 1
    Stevie Ray Vaughn 1
    The Cure 1
    Jethro Tull 1
    King's X 1
    Extreme 1
    Par Lindh Project 1

I thought the responses were interesting. There was a lot of variation in
what people reported as their favorites. Quite a few people noted that
the song "Scarred" was their second favorite, in addition to the few first
    place votes it got.

If anyone else would like to add to this list, just e-mail your responses
to me and I'll keep a running tally.

    Cheers!

While absentmindedly flipping through Guitar World (I think it was the Feb edition... the one with Roxanne and Soul Man transcribed), I saw a B.C. Rich add that read in small print "7 Strings now available in all models" Why hasn't anyone said anything about this yet? I am going to have to find a B.C. Rich dealer near me to try out some of their stuff... if I can find a decent guitar, I may just have a new guitar company (none of that pointy guitar stuff... just a strat style Ibanez alternative). This is very interesting news... I wonder what their Trem options would be... I wonder if they'd have to use Ibanez Floyds, or if they're alive enough (financially) to get around that.

I guess, I've always considered BC Rich to be kinda 'chessy'. Have they improved alot? I guess I need to check them out more closely. I once thought this of Hohner till I checked out their Revelator model (Todd Duane's Model). That's a killer guitar.

Well, assuming the most recent dates Mike P. has posted are it, I'm now making tentative plans for a roadtrip to see DT at the Philly show Saturday evening, May 9th. If anyone from the Atlanta area is interested, we'd leave as soon as everyone got off work Friday evening and drive up to Philly, then probably get a cheap motel room ("all along the freeway") for Sat. night and return Sunday.

Email me at vanyel@crl.com if you're interested. My newer car has a capacity of 4 people (well, it's a Ford Escort, so skinny people would be better :)), or if someone else wants to drive that'd be cool, too. (My car doesn't have cruise-control, so I'd hesitate to call it a "great" long-haul vehicle....)

Philly-area people, can you help with directions to the venue?

    Hi people,

I'm gonna be away next week (so I'll miss the DT UK gigs, boo hoo) so I'm gonna do a new DT compilation to take with me (along with LTE!). It'll be a mini-disc so there's only 74 mins of stuff I can include, and I've decided TOT will be on there, so that leaves around 60 mins. Now bearing in mind DT will be opening for Deep Purple in the US and will have an hour's playing time, I'd like to take a guess at the set list and make this my compilation. So I'd like any ideas for this setlist/compilation from other jammers, and the best one will be recorded on Thursday night before I go. (Remember TOT will already be on there!)

Any ideas will be most welcome! E-mail me privately if you don't want to clutter up the jam (compilation threads can get annoying sometimes!)

    Cheers,

Andy (happier now DT looks like they are playing the London Forum agian - thanks, Mike!)
