Since Graham was talking about EVH...this reminded me of something I
wanted to share. I recently aquired VH III, my first listen I was very
unhappy...me being a HUGE Extreme fan, and a HUGE fan of Gary's abilities.
I'm not upset at his performance though as much as I am at the
songwriting. Eddie has some MEAN licks on this album...Killer work...Alex
has soem AWESOME grooves...and Gary has some excellent notes ta hit (Sorry
Mike just never appealed to me)...but the songwriting doesn't seem very
well structured. I mean, where the hell was the producer on this album???
I'm not trying to start a flame here...I DO like the album...it's a
keeper, but maybe it could use a bit of Terry Brown or Kevin Shirley to
    help it a bit.

it's nice to know i'm loved by ALL jammers!!
    i love you too grrrrrrrahm
maybe i'm not worthy to lick EVH's boots, but why the hell would i want to?
I'm not the kinda person who worships other people, and i don't think of
someone as a legend because he takes credit for something invented by a
bassplayer, and is about as overrated as George Lynch (ouch i'm gonna get some
flames for that one), don't get me wrong i like some of his solo stuff, but
his dokken stuff was major guitar wankery.
and me? a waste of bandwidth? maybe, actually most likely. but then again, who
cares? every group of people need thier wastes of bandwidth, and hell, maybe
someday i'll create my own bandwidth to waste, but until then, .. ah hell,
nobody read this post this far, so i might as well just stop typeing now....

if you ask me, they should ditch EVH and get nuno to play, now that is one
fucking AWESOME guitar player, but then again i guess it would be just like
Extreme. but with a better drummer.

In Japan, being a huge market that it is, imports are generally cheaper
    than
the domestic releases, so to get the Japanese people to buy the local
    discs
they generally put on an extra track or 2 to give them an incentive to
pay the extra money for the CD. For the same reason alot of CD's are
    released
in Japan before the rest of the world.
As for the bonus tracks on Conception CD's
'In Your Multitude' has one, that isn't listed anywhere on the CD or
    liner
so I have no idea of what it is called.
'Flow' has a killer bonus song called 'Hand On Heart' which is my fave
    on the CD.

The bass thread is NEVER dead, man. :)

While I'm not a Warwick man myself (I played a five string the other day
    - they wanted $2000 used for it, and the neck was like I was playing an
unfinished 2x4), they DO have a nice sound. The Tobias Renegade on the
wall was a much better-playing instrument, and cheaper, too.

Eden amplification is the way to go, though, as far as I'm concerned
(but, as Jack said, to each his own).
For anyone looking into new bass amps, Eden (whose founder used to work
for SWR, btw) is coming out with a new line of amplification called
'Nemesis', which, according to the redneck at E.U. Wurlitzer, is
supposed to be somewhat cheaper than the stuff he's coming out with now.
I'm interested to take a look at this, because I'm not QUITE ready to
spend $1600 on the Eden Bass Head that I want (but DAMN, does it sound
good!). Plus, they look like something off of the bridge of Deep Space
Nine. You can't beat that. All you need now is Avery Brooks driving the
butler from Benson around in a white Mercedes and you're all set.

    >Anybody know when the Myung Yamaha bass will hit stores?

I can try and find out - I have a friend who works for a music store
that deals with all the Yamaha high-end stuff down in MD, and he's
coming up to visit tonight. I'll ask him to let me know as soon as he
    finds out.

I am glad I *only* have to drive 350 miles to see DT! (actually.. if I
attend a Philly show i believe its closer to 290 miles). I still wish
they'd play the Crowbar in State College <<hint hint>>. Another plug:
Bryce Jordon Center on your larger tour :).

An interesting story for the Phish fans... before their show last Autumn,
the members went out to the Cafe 210 to watch another band perform.
Several times that evening they bought rounds of drinks for EVERYONE in
the bar! Several of my friends were there <lucky bastards!>.

and promptly got corrected by Richie (and Jeff, and Raitz :) ). Yes, I
know, I know. I forgot that Mike played on "No Respect" too. That's what I
get for not checking for asterisks closely enough. I had a nagging feeling
that I'd missed something and checked the disc list again ten minutes
later. Was too lazy to correct myself; I should have known I'd get called

Thanks, Paul. Now maybe people will STOP sending that one around. It's
older than that, actually, I remember reading about it as far back as
    1993. :)

Hrmph. I really need to check these guys out. I bought Streets a year
ago, or so, but when my 100 disc CD case was accidentally tossed out by
family members (as well as the face to my Alpine CD player, among other
things) I had only listened to it a couple of times. I didn't particularly
like the very gravelly voice of the vocalist (forgive my ignorance, I don't
know his name), but with all the raving about them here I figured I might
as well try them again. Anyone have MP3 samples (or better yet, full

Yeah, all we get is crappy washed-up ska bands out on the Garden. It's
sickening. At radio meetings, we occasionally talk about what kind of bands
we'd like to see here (on the W&M campus). The consensus always seems to be
    1) DJ's, 2) "indie rock" bands from DC, or 3) ska bands. *gag*

Don't worry, Alex, at least we're only an hour from Norfolk or Richmond, and 2
    and change from DC.

Family values?!? Clearly you've mistaken me for someone who earns enough to
    be a Republican. :)

    Back to stealing kidneys...

Yeah, right. :) It's merely going to get mutated over and over again just
like every other hoax out there today.

Hi, remember me? I'm that weird parakeet living in Houston, Tx. I
haven't posted in a while, but I've been pretty much keeping up with
things, especially DT in Texas!! Woo! I'd like to propose a solution to
all the TX jammers (and 'jammers coming to tx from out of town) on how to
get together, find crashing places, etc.

I've set up a guestbook on my Web page for everyone to list their e-mail,
web site, location, shows attending, whatnot. There's also a place for
comments. I've heard ppl say they may want to meet up in the West end of
Dallas before that show or maybe somewhere downtown for Houston.

    Anyways, the page is http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Set/5039/dt.html

Looking forward to hearing from all of you, and let's get the Texas
'Jammers going like the Cali Crew! ;)
