Actually, I seem to remember Brendt saying that they lost most of the work
they had done on the album and having to start from scratch. The release
date has been pushed back to September.

Actually, I think this is a typo on part of whoever did the liner notes
for the US pressing. I have had the German limited edition for 6 months
now, and it does say "Dream Theater" in there...

Let's see, I made a 4 hour round trip to see a JP/DS clinic, and last
October, I drove about 1400 miles total to see DT in Detroit and Chicago.

shit into one post instead of posting 9 times a jam? Keep it up, and I'm
going to send CHiPs after your ass to arrest you and force you to record a
two hour TV-reunion special. Also, the ten line MP3 list has to go.
EVERYONE: Stop posting dumbass forwards and chain letters to the jam, or

EVERYONE again: You don't need to quote an entire post to get your point

saw the list, we don't need to see it again, a simple quote of the lines

Doc, the reason you get in to all DT shows isnt because you have facial
hair. You get in because you go in through the backstage door with MP
holding it open for you.

This is indeed true. EM was a cover band that used to play clubs here and
there on LI. I assume that now that DT and Savatage are working again,
neither one has time for EM, but you never know when they'll pop up again.
BTW, EM could rip on covers. I was fortunate enough to see them once (summer
95, if I remember correctly). Great renditions of blues-rock classics. Then
again, great musicians can pretty much make anything sound good.

The list has been pretty particular in the past about this, actually. It's widely accepted that DT and Fates are prog metal. I'd say bands like Eternity-X and SG are too. I'm not sure about Superior and the likes of and Mercury Rising. The sound's just a bit too traditional, IMO. Having a piano doesn't make you a prog band.
It's a judgement call, I guess.

Where did I mention "wank?" I just said that I liked what the lead player did and wanted more of it. The solo on "Behind" that I couldn't think of was from "Until the End." Beautiful. Now, that's hardly wanking, is it?
> >looking for metal done very well, I highly recommend it. (These guys just > >embarrass Helloween, IMHO) > > Helloween? Gimme a break... Helloween is the progenitors of double-bass
I admit, that was a bad comparison. It was the only non-standard type metal band that I could think of that wasn't of the prog-metal category. Now that I've given it a second thought, I'd say Radakka is a better comparison.

I just bought a new Modulus Quantum 5 today at my local music store. The thing sounds awsome, but I was kind of dumbfounded test driving it at the store. they has two Ampeg stacks set up in the little practice room and I was jamming away when I noticed a small fuzzy sound every time I played a note. It wasn't much, but I asked the salesman what was up. He said that Ampeg amps don't respond well to certain frequences. The amp was just fine with a Pedula and a Yamaha I played on it. So he pluged me up to another amp and the bass sounded fine. Does anyone know what could of been happening with the Ampeg?

hehe yea I'll probably be going with my 23 (erm 25? bah he's not on the list anymore and no one cares how old he is anyway *snicker*) year old brother, and everyone always thinks he's my younger brother. I'll have a nice goat by then too so I should do fine. :)

I've always been a huge fan of EVH, but someone who goes through life as coked up as him has a hard time gaining my respect.
My main complaint with Eddie is that he hasn't really done anything new for almost 10 years. I loved OU812 and F.U.C.K., but I think he's slipping. Any opinions?

I just had the absolute COOLEST experience EVER!!! Big Wreck played here in Columbia, Mo. tonight...to a croud of LESS than 25 people. I shit you not!!! They came out, saw an empty club...said what the hell, and played anyways to the few of us (myself being the most dedicated fan) who had paid money to see them regardless, and THEY BLEW US AWAY!!! For ANYONE who didn't think much of them while they were touring with DT...I've seen the light! These guys just all out jammed during almost every song, it was incredible...then after their set, they came back out and did some of their favorite cover songs just for the hell of it...then hung at the bar with everyone for some drinks. The whole show I was talking to Ian (the lead singer) since I was right up in front, and we were crackin' eachother up...after the show, I talked with David (The Bassist) for a while...and he's SO into Dream Theater! He grew up just a couple streets away from John Petrucci, and has a good friend who usedta jam with John and stuff...and he said it was totally incredible to be able to play with them...and that even though the DT fans for the most part weren't to accepting of Big Wreck...they loved EVERY minute of it. This guy has seen things I can only dream of! :) I've met a few bands, and seen a ton of gigs...but this BY FAR will always stay atop my memory :) And for those who still don't believe in Big Wreck's abilities...go check them out right now while they're headlining...and you WILL be blown away! BTW Dave also said the last gig they played with DT all the musician's from both bands got together and did a crazy jam...if anyone has this show, I'd love to get a copy of it! Take care fellow jammers!!!
