I swear to god, if I hear "Ticketmaster has your ticket to good health!" ONE
MORE FUCKING TIME I'm gonna find out who's idea it was, and PUT MY HAND THROUGH THEIR CHEST AND PULL THEIR HEART RIGHT THE FUCK OUT. I'll even laugh
maniacally until they drag me away. For effect and all. Should I wear a
smock? Hmmm. Maybe a butcher's apron.

This bile reminds me of Marriot, the vendor in charge of anything remotely food-like that finds its way to the Plattsburgh campus. You can't so much as have
chips and coke at a club meeting if you didn't pay the 21.59 per bag from them.
Now, from what I've heard on other campuses, the food here is pretty good.
BUT! I don't think that gives them the right to outlaw competition. Last
year they stopped a coffee shop that was gonna open up in the *vicinity* of
the campus. In public, commercial, property. Obviosly they know they would
never stand a chance if they had to lower prices and increase quality. that's
    their whole profit margin. bastards.

somebody enlighten me. Why can't concert halls do business with another
company? what if I outbidded ticketmaster? wouldn't I get those tickets then?

I wonder what musicians, who have a stake, have to say. Do bands end up making
more money because of TM? Concert halls?

    >Anyone agree with this?

    ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!!

Speaking as someone who has seen both Queen and DT in concert I can say
that there is NO comparison.Freddie Mercury's voice was as strong on
Queen's final disc (Made In Heaven) as it was on the first Queen. LaBrie
wouldn't know singing if it jumped up and bit him in the ass (at least
compared to Freddie anyway). Plus Freddie could kick ass in concert and
he was on stage the whole show except during solos. James in a two hour
set spends about :90 back stage gargling sperm or something. I saw DT
on two straight nights as did others here and the first night he sounded
pretty good, but the second night his voice was totally blown and almost
every time he'd try to hit the high notes his voice would crack.

Why DT chose KJLB as their singer with all the other talent out there
I'll never know. The only bigger mystery to me is why Iron Maiden chose
    Blaze to replafce Bruce.

Well, I have been calling the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. for the past
three weeks. For three weeks, they've been telling me that they didn't
have Tori Amos booked. In fact, that was their official line until 5:20
P.M. this evening. Tickets went on sale at 6:00 P.M. I got two :)

In other words... they usually won't confirm anything until a couple of
days before tickets go on sale. Mike Portnoy has semi-confirmed that date
(he himself said that was the *tentative* date for Chicago) so be patient <g>.

I'm a carless college student at The George Washington University in
downtown Washington. $20+ to anyone that could provide transportation to
and from Baltimore. Contingent on three factors:

    (a) The Dream Theater show does take place before May 11;
    (b) It's all ages (I'm 18); and
    (c) I have no finals the next day. (Mike said it's tentative for May 5. I
have no finals on the 6th so it should work out. If the date changes, and
I do have a final the day after the show, I'm not sure that I want to
commit to a concert. It depends on which final. It *IS* Dream Theater...
    <g>)

Sound good? I WANT TO SEE THIS SHOW :)

Three posts in one night. More than I've done in the past three months.

I received my copy of Fasten Your Seatbelts today. EXCELLENT CD. The
artwork is VERY cool... better than the Liquid Tension Experiment. It
looks very professional and you must have used a TON of black ink from your
    printer :)

As far as the music... at first the sound wasn't so great, but now my ears
are used to it <g>. The music is excellent. It's the only FII boot I own
and very good. Great performances from all. Anyone with a chance to
    purchase this CD, do so.

    Excellent work, Nick.

My mom used to be (before she met my dad) nothing but Monkees. My dad was a huge Black Sabbath fan, as well as Alice Cooper, Jethro Tull, Dorrs, etc. He was friends with all the members of a band called brew which ,if you've heard of them, you must have gone to college with them... (grin). Good stuff. They try to keep up with the music scene, but have admitted they lost touch around 1993.

My parents didn't curtail what I listened to, but they did ask that I play it for them, so they knew. They're into the ambient techno (Jean Michel Jarre and Cusco and such) now, but still enjoy a good rock to clean off the woofers. My musical tastes and my parents have a serious overlap, except when it comes to prog -- My dad hates Yes (too pretensious for him), but loves old Genesis. he is so-so on Rush, but is a huge Floyd fan, and went out of his way to buy my younger sister a stereo for her birthday (it was above our budget) so she could listen to The Wall the right way... ^_^

    Basically, my parents rock ass.

Thanks alot. The name alone caused that song to stick in my head. I'll give you something to stick in your head and it's not a shank... yet. 4 words: "The Andy Griffith Show." You know. The damn whistling song. Brings back memories don't it? Goofy Barney Fife and ugly as sin Opie. Yah. Memories alright. Stick 'em.

Or on a more remote basis...

Remeber Lassie? Remember when Uncle Petrie got caught rapin' Jane in the kitchen and kicked Timmy's ass for spyin on him? So Timmy ran and get Old Man Thompson who operated the general store in Grangeville (which had the crack/whorehouse in the back) to come and bust a cap on his ass. Timmy was then sent away to a foster family and Lassie was adopted by some nice Korean family. Or was that Cops in Chicago?

Besides, Denis Leary's Tradition Irish Folk Song is the best song ever. --KorgX3
