    Greetings Peoples!

You may get a more detailed post later from other Jammers who went or from
Lisa Marie herself but I just had to share!

Anyway, yesterday several members of the Cali Crew Ytsejammers from the San
Francisco Bay Area made the "Trek" down to see SB at the Roxy in LA. (Hi
Lisa, Steve, Ryan and Matt G!)
Okay I am very hoarse as I screamed, shouted and sang thru the entire 2
hours of eargasms! WOW! What can I say ...the show was brilliant. If
you haven't had the opportunity to listen to any of their material, please
go and find some time to do so. These guys are amazingly tight, on time
and have some terrific harmonies. All the guys have great rapport with the
audience and it shows in their playing!

A high point for me was when they played The Doorway and The Light! Of
course watching Ryo with his portable synth drop down into the audience and
play around was thrilling as I and Lisa had smuggled in 2 camera's and I
pray I got what I think will be some terrific shots! As soon as I give
them to Lisa for her to put up on her web page (she runs Thoughts, the SB
list) either Lisa or myself will let you know where to go and view them!

I am not sure of the correct and Official set list...but I can tell you
that they did my fave SB tune and the one Lisa made me play first and it
got me hooked: The Doorway! Talk about a moment! They also played June,
Go the Way you Go, Cakewalk on Easy Street, Thoughts, Beware of Darkness,
Walking on the Wind (another moment of greatness) The Light, and I know I
am forgetting some songs. Lisa, or if anyone else remembers, please can
you add to this list and maybe put them in order?

Okay now even my fingers are hoarse from typing...I have had like no sleep
and ya know what...It was all worth it!

toodles....back to the Shadows I go!

i have thought about it for a minute now....let me see...mmmhhhh, i think
we really are ripping off DT, no.......mmmhhh, i take that back. We are
doing them a huge favor, no.......mmmhhh, i m confused now!
What is this all about? I look out for DT boots since i want to hear more
music from them, and in no way i feel like i m ripping them off.
Maybe i m....but at least MP understands why a lot of DT "fans" look out
    for bootleg releases.

Some one posted the boots steal a band's money and their artistic
integrity. Ive always looked at it this way: If no one recorded the
material, a great work of art and creation is lost forever. Think of all
the great things Pink Floyd did in the early 70s that are lost FOREVER.
Bootlegs (oreos) PRESERVE art! They are BENIFICIAL. As for stealing
money from the band - no .. in fact (though no "study" has ever been
conducted) I would bet the band bennifits because the bootlegs phyche
people up for the concert! Bootlegging an official release of the band is
stealing.. but bootlegging somehting that otherwise wouldnt exist is not
stealing money. I guess if someone is that concerned they should send the
band 5 bucks for every bootleg they buy. If I had my way a band would
release every show they perform..and it would only cost 10 bucks instead
of 25 or 50, and would be of the HIGHEST quality. Thats an ideal world.
Record companies ar4e the ones in power and they wont go for that, so it
is the bootleggers who pick up the slack.

Most bands (Pink Floyd and Phish included) actually are GLAD that bootlegs
circulate around. Its the greedy record companies who get pissed.

I am interested to hear Mike Portnoy's views on the subject, whether he
approves ro disapproves. I guess knowing that your concert is going to be
preserved might make one more nervous in performing but who knows :)

Another example.. I have 5 pink floyd oreos, and YET OWN ALL the albums..
no one lost money from me... just some entreprenour gained money from me.

OK.. enough of the subject. In short.. I like the idea of preserving art
and ould be damned glad if all bands recorded all shows and released the
shows themselves (in perfect soundboard quality).. but this is not an
    ideal world.

    Cheers

    Dream Theater (with special guests)
    Fates Warning
    Enchant
    Lemur Voice
    Chroma Key
    LTE

And during the DT set, Kevin M. and Charlie D. will do guest

Hve you ever thought that us 'fans' who buy bootlegs, are the same
'fans' who buy every albums, t-shirt, single, video...? It's not like
someone goes out and buys a bootleg as a first time way to hear the
band. Have you ever though that the band knows about all the bootlegs
    and even collects them?

<< One more comment on LTE...the dropoff towards the end of 3 Minute Warning is a really big blemish...I wouldn't say it ruins the track but it's noticeable...is there any reason they couldn't have mixed that part differently to cover the difference in sound? Me again!! (When the tour ends in a couple days, you won't be hearing from me as much as I will be spending all my time with Marlene & Melody......)

Anyway....That dropoff was unavoidable as the multitrack tape RAN OUT. You can't mix a 2-track DAT because it is not recorded in multitrack format...

I decided to subdivide 3MW, so you could access different parts of the jams without having to sit at your CD player scrolling through 25 minutes of noise to hear a particular part....

However, if I would have known that the idiots that mastered the CD in Europe would end up screwing it up, I may have thought twice about it....
