Rather than flame I'll explain to you what was explained to me when
I posted something just like the above mail message. DT knows about
the bootlegs (as a matter of fact they own like 90% from what I hear)
and is totally cool with it. So I'd ignore the people who are looking
for an argument and just accept the fact that the bootlegs are here
and are more than welcome on this list.

A while back there were a few people posting about Loreena McKennitt. I have a copy of her Live in San Francisco at the Palace of Fine Arts CD. It is extremely rare and EXCELLENT sound quality. It contains 10 songs and is about 62 minutes. I would be willing to trade copies this of a good quality DT live stuff. (I have a CD-R and thanks to several people on this list I have everything working well!) Please reply privately.

    thanks, Jim

God, I've had two Sony products: first, a Walkman which broke during the warranty and they gave me a new one. Once the warranty was gone it broke again. Now I have a Panasonic which never gavem me any problem. Well, after that I was still stupid enough to buy a stereo system (glorified boom boxes is what those are). Well, the DAY after the warranty expired, one of the tape decks broke. Two weeks later, the second tape deck broke. I tried to get it fixed but it would cost more than half of what I paid for the whole thing. So I was just using it to play CDs. Then a couple months later the CD Player broke. Well, then now I got a Pioneer stereo, so I put the Sony in my studio using it as a second reference monitor (you know, after it sounds good on those nice Event studio monitors, it's gotta sound good on a regular crappy stereo too). But the Auxiliar in stopped working after a while. I kid you not! Sony to me is the crap of the crap. Everything that could possibly break in that system is broken.

Sorry for the waste of bandwidth... I just thought since this is a music list and we gotta play music somewhere, this was somewhat related... AH fuck it :-)

Hey Jammers Has anyone noticed (i dont remember anyone posting about this) the strong (and i mean that!) DT and U2 connection on TWIUTB? That song is completely COOL. I like it a lot, in fact, i would sacrifice one FII song and have TWIUTB in that album instead of a bonus song in a single. I dont you about you guys, but upon hearing less than a minute of that song for the first time, the first thought that came to mind was: U2!

Hey, it s just an observation, i m not saying that DT were doing U2 in that song, but maybe that song could pass as a U2 song IMO. Now, that song it s supposed to be a DEMO, is there a definitive version, or that version was meant to be on FII, but had to be cut from it?

As long as we're bashing Sony, I'll add (this is from about 6 years experience in the cable TV field) that their televisions are the only brand that consistently blow the picture tube within about three years.

The only Sony product I've ever bought is a Walkman...which is currently in a dresser drawer awaiting the day when I need to scavenge it for parts.

It's close, but it ain't *that* close! :) I look at FII (and the songs that didn't make it) as the period in DT's songwriting life where they really, really wore their influences on their sleeves, so to speak. You can hear the M-word and Floyd in "Peruvian Skies," the Sting in "Hollow Years," the U2 in "TWIUTB," etc...

    > Now, that song it s supposed to be a DEMO, is there a definitive version, > or that version was meant to be on FII, but had to be cut from it?

Every song (including the ones on the album) was demoed. That's just how the system works. Then they picked 11 of them to record somewhere nicer than JP's basement (or wherever they did the demos), and that became the album. The songs that weren't selected were never (at least, as far as I know, and maybe MP could clarify if I'm wrong) re-recorded after they were demoed.

At least, that's my assumption, based on what little I know about the industry. -d

    Welp...I do.

I have Ok Computer and like it but I don't have the others. Opinions?

I put that band next to DMB in my comparison not because I thought they were at all similar, but because they were the first two bands that came to mind that get lots of airplay, and are pretty good. Maybe "popular rock" would have been more appropriate but then, how pissed off would you have been if I'd called radiohead "pop" music? ah-hah.

Allow me to jump on this thread. I also have a Walkman sitting in a dresser drawer. In addition, I have a boom-box-thingie (from a number of years ago) that simply stopped working after about a year and a half. And finally, my cordless phone. Ask anyone that's had a phone conversation with me for more than an hour and a half what a pain it is to hang up and wait for my phone to re-charge.

I've bought my last Sony product. -d
