Doesn't anyone have a GOOD copy of Raise The Knife or of Where Are You
Now that they can put in mp3 format instead of these shitty .ra files?
Also, does anyone have the demos for New Millennium, Peruvian Skies,
Anna Lee, or Trial Of Tears? I have to have them!

Personally, I'd add _Animals_, which has been highly underrated in my
nipple. My girlfriend can't stand the pig noises, but I love this entire
album. You might also want to check out their Pre-DSotM stuff. Some of it
plays very well against today's ambient/electronica. Try _Ummagumma_ or
_Mettle_. Pretty sick stuff for the late 60's / early 70's.

The last 5 albums were pretty much AOR stuff. Ya GOTTA have Supper's
Ready, the live version from Seconds Out on the top of your list. Return
Of The Giant Hogweed is a classic as well, All the Gabriel era stuff is
pretty intense. Pick up Selling England By The Pound, Foxtrot or
Nursery Cryme, you won't be disappointed.

Er, coma? I don't really think you need a coma anywhere, but it sometimes just happens after really bad car accidents.

Well, it depends. If you're not used to drinking, and you pick up a day to drink your ass off you may also end up with an alcoholic coma. :-)
BTW, anybody here remembers the movie Coma? :-) Damn hospitals. :-)

That's spelled "comma". Two "m's". He sure doesn't need a coma there. :-o
Anyone going to the Philly show, please e-mail me as plans for that mini-ytsecon develop . . .
Lastly, I posted a while ago about doing a research paper on Dream Theater. I even e-mailed MP and DS in hope that they might have a suggestion or 3. Let me say first that my high school sucks, and this paper doesn't *have* to be . . . hmm . . . like most Senior year term papers. (That doesn't mean I still don't want to write a great paper, of course.) This is why I have every confidence that, provided with enough *SOURCES*, I will be able to churn out at *least* a pretty decent 5-7 page paper, if not an "A plus".
If anyone on this list has anything that might be a good source for this paper, which will be approached biographically, I'd appreciate private e-mail about it. I've already considered stuff like the FAQ and the UACM biographies, but I need MORE!! Someone has already offered to send me a few articles from Guitar Player, but I know there are others from Guitar World, Metal Edge, and wherever, and there's also the fanzine . . . Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, you've got Pulse, Division Bell, and Dark Side, so as far as I'm concerned, you've got all the best one's they ever put out. You might want to collect both the Cassette, CD, and Video releases of Pulse. The cassette has an extra track that isn't on the CD (yes, you DID read that correctly. The CASSETTE has more songs than the disc) and the video has more than either of them. You also might want to get "Momentary Lapse of Reason." This was the predecessor to Division Bell. It contained "Learning to Fly," and "Sorrow." It was pretty good. You also might check out "Delicate Sound of Thunder." It's another concert two-disc set. It's not anywhere near as good as Pulse, but it's still quite fun.
That's all I can think of. There are alot that you don't have. "Piper at the Gates of Dawn," "Meddle" "Ummagumma," "Final Cut" etc. But most of them arent worth owning. Pink Floyd really didn't get good until they got rid of that control freak Waters. They got lucky with "Darkside" "Wall," and "Wish You Were Here," but besides that, nothing they did before 1987 was really all that good.

I was thinking last week that this would be King's X, but I've been listening to a lot of jazz and wanted to share the experience. Thelonious Monk is one of my favorite piano players. As the song by Victor Wooten says, "He plays the the wrong notes right." Monk is perfect proof of there being no wrong notes in jazz. He throws notes together so dissonant it's heartbreaking (I love dissonance). And the man has such rhythm. He swings like the proverbial motherfucker.
Here's Monk on solo piano playing one of his most well known tunes, "Round Midnight." I think it's a good summing up of his style. The sample can be found at http://www.afn.org/~afn39111/round_midnight.zip. I do not know what LP it originated on...I got it from Monk's Greatest Hits.
The 1.5 meg mp3 is in 56kbs 44k mono, because I don't have the disk space for more, but mono doesn't really hurt because it's only meant as a sample. It still sounds clear. The file is zipped to avoid cooking of the mp3 by Netscape.
A week from Sunday, it will disappear from the face of the earth.

Animals! It's my most favourite Pink Floyd album. This album is Roger Water's. Oh...and 2 more "A Saucerful of Secrets" and "Meddle".

For me, it's hard to choose fav song from each album because I do like Genesis only in Gabriel era.

Aight, folks, it looks like I'm going to be making a serious shot at getting to one of the shows in either Philly, NYC, or Jersey. However, I'm at school in the south of Virginia, and don't think I have the money for the train - in desperation of course, all things are possible. However, if anyone else is heading up in that direction from vaguely my area, PUH-LEASE lemme know. Please be forewarned, that I go is not certain, but intensely probable; which show is still entirely up in the air; however, 7th looks pretty much out of it, since my friend who I want to come with me has an exam on the 8th. So, that's all folks. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!
