I fail to see what post prompted you to believe that any one of us, let alone all of us, are racist. Clearly you are still reeling from the fact that someone quoted a Type O song. Either that, or you took Eckie's post seriously, which is *never* intended or advised. (Then again, you'd know that already if you had taken the time to learn *anything* about us before jumping to conclusions.)

In any event, why do immature, ignorant people bother you so much? Do you read the Ytsejam to forget about what goes on in the real world? Sorry, this isn't the forum for that. However, I dare say that the ratio of ignorant people to educated, enlightened people on this list is *far* higher than it is in the real world. We get off easy here.

    > This is/was a DT/Bands mailing list. . .Not romper room. > I'd like to think MP thinks about as much of you racists as I do. I'd even > be willing to bet on it.

Again, you're basing your entire "argument" on something that doesn't exist.

    > No, I'm not requesting a response from MP. I can't believe I'm still > talking about this myself. I'd bet 95% of the 26+ year old crowd in this > list agrees. Given those that have grown up. :)

Uh, sure. I agree that you can't believe you're still talking about this. And what have you given to those that have grown up?

    > I've been following DT's music since I heard them the first time in 1993, > but this mailing list isnt full of the ppl that I'm MORE THAN SURE DT would > associate themselves with.

On the contrary, the members of the band have associated with a great many of us on many, many occasions. Come to think of it, they released an EP just for us a few years back. It's called "A Change of Seasons," and if your local music retailer doesn't have it in stock, you can order it from any of the reputable Internet music sellers.

Or do you associate with the members of the band so frequently that you can speak intelligently about with whom they do and do not associate? (Nah, didn't think so.)

    > Hell, if this was out in the open for the Press to see, hahah I'm sure DT > would steer MORE than clear from many of the lame, childish, racists remarks > I've seen posted by some of you.

I'd be willing to guess that those members that read the list find many of the lame, childish remarks made here absolutely hysterical. (I know I often do). And, again, there were no racist remarks made on this list in recent memory.

    > As I stated in my first post. . .Those of you that are pissed off right now > and reading this, and are going to reply with some lame flame. . .Stop for

I'm not pissed off. I just feel bad for you that your severe lack of understanding is keeping you from enjoying our list, and keeping us from enjoying your posts. It's a shame, really. The strength of this list is in its subscribers, and each member with a new perspective adds value to the list as a whole. Too bad you refuse to be a part of that.

    > Hell, go ask one of your parents, go ask ANY adult, I'm willing to bet I'm > more than right.

My parents don't read the Ytsejam. Then again, I am confident that I can analyze the situation competently on my own.

    > I'm sure there is some racist newsgroup you can join, but this is not the > place and I think its sad that DT has it's name tagged onto such a place.

You mean its name? (Or is that their name?) Regardless, I know for a fact (because I *have* had personal association with one of the band members) that they hold this list in high regard -- mostly because they have taken the time to understand how we tick. I needn't remind you that reading 10 digests (less than a month before finals, no less) does not provide an accurate representation of the dynamic that is the Ytsejam.

I probably also need not remind you that no one is forcing you to be here. If you hate it that much, then leave. (You would probably be doing us all a favor.) As always, however, you are welcome to stay if you'd like. My personal recommendation, if you do stay, is to lurk for a couple of months and figure out how we do things around here. A thousand subscribers are not going to change a years-old society to suit the whims and fancies of a belligerent, intolerant newcomer, so you'll need some patience.

If none of this is acceptable to you, then I defy you to find a better list to be a part of. (One with more than 1 subscriber, that is.) -d

I had the extreme pleasure of actually getting a private lesson with Greg while I was in high school. My orchestra teacher scored movies and T.V. shows, and he was working on the music to a new show called "Polish Hill" (it never got picked up to my knowledge). Anyway, he calls me up and asks me if I want to watch the recording session at Warner Brothers studio. I wasn't too sure because I had school the next day. But then he told me that Greg was playing at the session and that was it. I ditched school and drove out to the studio. Anyway, I got to watch/listen to him warm up and he was amazing. He finished his drum part in only a couple takes and we chatted for a bit. I mentioned how I had his poster on my wall (for you drummers out there, it was the one with him standing on top of a black Pearl drumset w/ white high-tension lugs with his sticks above his head) and he got a kick out of that. He then asked me if I wanted to check out his set. I managed to stammer out a "s-s-sure." So while his brother Matt was laying down the bass track, we went into the drum room and I played him what I thought was my coolest beat. Greg said, "not bad" and then proceeded to tear me a new musical asshole. He was showing me beats, breaking them down for me, giving me suggestions, etc. This lasted for half and hour, before it was time to pack it up for the day. It was like having a live-action instructional video right there. Anyway, the point of this entire story is to say that not only is Greg a musician of the highest class, but a real class act as well.

Of course we're not flaming you in public, because all of your personal attacks, as opposed to your full-scale public condemnations of the whole list, are coming privately. Most of us have more class than to make a private message public.

AH!! But here's where you're WRONG!! See, I'm sitting staring at the liner notes of my Bloody Kisses CD, where it says: 5) Kill all the White people. I could pop it in my CD player too, but I don't think that would make much difference. So THAR!!

I recently received Marcel's double CD from a Den Bosch DT concert on Dec. 3 1997, and let me tell you, this cd kicks ass. The quality is excellent. I would say it's as good as any Mike Bahr CD, but for only $25. The performance is also flawless. This is one of the few shows in which I haven't heard James' voice crack. NOT EVEN ONCE. The setlist includes Take Away My Pain and the Fasten Your Seatbelts version of Ytsejam. I am so glad I got this cd; I know you people will feel the same way if you get it. Well, that's it.

Nope, it is Bloody Kisses. From the song "Kill All The White People" no less. This song is not on the digipack version, just in the standard jewel case release.

I wont get replies via the list for Im not on it anymore.

I do want to make clear that YES I was wrong about the racist stuff. . = I haven't listened to TypeO in forever so I was wrong. I am man enough = to admit it. No problem.

But the point that was missed is this. Yes although I was wrong about the racist part, and although ALL of you = took what I said personally, even though it was stated CLEARLY "Not all, = just those that are gonna be pissed". . . I have to still stick to my guns about the maturity problem. . . I never said you are all ignorant children, hell, I've met some of you = on IRC and you're some of the nicest ppl I've met. . .On the other hand, = although I was wrong, I got nothing but HATE mail. . .That's immature in = my book. . .On top of that, when I came to IRC the last time to find = out how to unsubscribe, I did NOTHING to warrant being kicked twice. . . Nothing. . .Someone please explain to me the level of maturity this = stuff takes? Since when do adults attack ppl for stating an opinion (wrong or right) Since when do adults act the way some of you have towards me, when I = wasn't aware I was even WRONG about my statements until now?

Someone explain that to me. I'm not upset. . .I'm very disappointed. . = .I'm a lil ashamed that I wasnt aware of the mistake I made, but I'm not = sure if I'm more ashamed at myself for that, or at those of you who = attacked me for something I wasn't aware of.

Yes I made some strong statements, that's the way I am, but no one = corrected my wrong. In fact, the person that DID correct me, even = flamed and used some really adult like grammar. Why? I truely was not = trying to make an attacck on the guy (although I know now how it looked) = and I most CERTAINLY and all of you present are witness to it, was not = doing ANYTHING wrong when I was kicked Twice by Merlin in IRC.

I admitted where I am wrong, but, at this point, no one else seems to = think they are. That's fine. But dont be upset with me for being a = hypocrite, when you're doing so yourself.

For those of you who I met on IRC, it was cool. Glad I could share my = good news with you. For those that flamed me, in email and kicked me = from IRC for no reason, at least without telling me where I was wrong, = well, you have to live with yourselves. . . Didn't mean to piss on the parade. Sorry it's all wet now. As for DT. . .Damn, sorry. . .

Again, I give you my deepest apologies.

P.S. I did get 1 email stating that they appreciated what I was trying to do. = Imagine that.. . .
