Hello,
on the area of psychology and music, something of interest. Nazareth
College in Rochester, NY has a major in music therapy. involves a basic music
major and psychology minor. they do a lot of work with schizophrenics and
older people. up and coming field!
yeah, I know, no Dream Theater content, but I had to! I'm a psychology
major, and so, when I see the word, I get interested.
and now, one of my interesting CD stories...got the Ozzy Osbourne
Tribute Album to Randy Rhodes. totally unprinted. you can not tell the top
from the bottom unless you do that cool spectrum effect with the bottom! I'm
keeping it, figure it could be worth something as a unique item!

Maturity... I think that bastard-fuck, what's his name, Hazex? Playtex?
Anyway, I think his little ranting bullshit was to make up for his
obvious lack of maturity in the first place. That must be why he posted
the same fucking maturity post(in a different combination of words) way
too many times. He was trying to reassure himself that he didn't suck,
and it didn't work, because he cried and left, so he does, indeed, SUCK.
And the whole racist thing... What the fuck? I'm white, and I'm NOT
racist, but I happen to think black jokes are sometimes humorous in
moderation just like anything else, and I find white jokes JUST as
funny, if not more funny, because we have that little white-trash
trailer park thing going on for us that is SO easy to make fun of. The
greatest thing is, the best black jokes I've heard have been told to me
by a couple of black friends I have...
Anyway, it was a Type O quote in the first place, so he just showed what
a jack-off he really is, and judging by his poor choice of taste and
decency and respect for the list as a whole, he probably can't jack-off
very well either, maybe that's his problem. It's one thing to jump in
and voice something, and then just shut the hell up when you know you've
went and thoroughly fucked yourself with a chimney-brush, and a
completely different thing to keep crying about it OVER AND OVER AND
OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. What a poor confused and
immature(NOT mature, as old Playtex, er, I mean Hazex would have you
believe) twenty something child we had with us. It's a shame to see him
leave, now what will I do for a good laugh? Actually, I didn't get a
chance to flame him, because I was too busy laughing my ass off at
everyone else's flames... KEEP IT UP, and make sure he gets them, he
deserves every last puff of smoke you can pull out of your asses :) I
have an idea, why doesn't someone forward him the 'Jam every day, and
see how he likes being force-fed his own bullshit?

Actually, it is supposed to be like that. I thought the same thing at=
first, and it freaked my mom out when she went to turn down my stereo at=
the end of PMU and it cut off like that, but it's right. Try to find a=
live recording of it and it will make a lot more sense.

I think they do a very good job. As the "official" site, it isn't
their job to circulate every unsubstantiated rumour that crops up on
the Jam or the newsgroups. It *is* their job to relay official information
which they receive directly fom DT members or management, and this is
*exactly* what they do. They should be praised for it, not criticised.
Granted, they may be a bit slow sometimes, but they provide a very good source
of rumour-free information.

I'm experiencing the same thing - I bought it from a swedish dealer = (since Sweden's the country I live in). I believe it's supposed to be = that way. Damn you. "Awake" is their best CD (I just looove the sound it has!), = "Scarred" their best song.

I don't see anything on the so called official site like email from MP for starters. How you can say they do a good job is beyond me, quite frankly you the only person I have come in contact with who has a good word to say about rabbs. > Granted, they may be a bit slow sometimes, but they provide a very good source > of rumour-free information.
I am quite sure that if Itchy put evey 'rumour' on his site he'd never sleep :) Lets have a look at all these alleged 'rumours' in the news at UACM 'Age Of Impact' tracklisting 16 page supplement in Italian magazine 'Images and Words' with AC/DC music etc. etc, blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Seems to be more than rumours, which is more than in the rabbs site. I won't even put insult to injury and bother checking the lastest there. Most people I have talked to think that UACM should be the official site anyway....

Was it Back in Black? A long, long time ago when I joined a cd club and was stuck grabbing a second copy of Master of Puppets the cd was perfect except the album on there was AC/DC's Back in Black.

Hi all
Have any of you ever dealt with MeteorCity before? How reliable are they? What are the delivery times like (especially to Europe)? They've got a whole bunch of interesting stuff there, but I want to know if they actually come up with the goods before I part with my hard earned cash.
Ytse-drinkers pay attention - I recently came across an absolutely evil cocktail, so evil, in fact, that I can't possibly post the recipe to the list. Mail me if you are interested.
My opinion on the Spock's Beard thread - excellent musicians who make excellent FUN music and who have FUN making and playing it. No wanking, no theatrical posing. I often find myself smiling when I listen to these guys, especially 'The Kindness Of Strangers', smiling not because they have just played a double reversed Tibetan pentawank scale with a nose pick, to impress all the music theorists in the crowd, but simply because this music says 'hallo, here I am, enjoy, have FUN'.

Haje wrote stuff about AC/DC in his I&W. You know how some stores let you listen to the CD before you buy it? My guess is that whoever was putting the CDs back got them mixed up. Then he wrote:

Hehehee! Sorry to laugh, but I did. FAQ can be found at http://www.prognosis.com/dream among many other places. :)
On to more interesting things... Someone from TX (Brian? I have NO memory these days) announced that DT has made their mind up about at least North Texas. Saturday, May 23 they will play at Caravan of Dreams in Ft. Worth which is not a huge club by any stretch of the imagination. Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 1. I don't know about the time. Oh, and they're NOT available thru ticketcrapper.
Keep watching my page for details, and for the love of... Somebody PLEASE start suggesting places of where to meet in Ft. Worth and SA! I already have a place in mind for Houston (unless someone can think of a better place).

HI all
my stoner rock/retro metal trip is getting serious - boy, are my neighbours going to suffer when I start the barbeque season (hopefully this weekend if the weather holds).
SHEAVY - The Electric Sleep
This offering by the Canadian foursome SHEAVY is quite simply the best album Black Sabbath never made. It's that good. There have been some good albums by Sabbath-inspired bands over the last couple of years (Orange Goblin, Cathedral, Spiritual Beggars), but this little beauty takes the biscuit. The singer sounds like Ozzy's twin brother, but that doesn't detract from the fact that he's a fine singer. The sound is doom, both in the 70s and the 90s, stoner rock and psychedelic. The riffs are fatter than an over-inflated blimp and the bass oozes out of the speakers before it crawls across the floor to give your eardrums a good beating. Listen to the track 'Oracle' and you'll be ready to swear this is the original line-up of Sabbath - the guys I live with were sure it was when I played it to them yesterday. Despite being so close to Sabbath, this band is also highly original and is in no way just a clone. This album belongs in the CD collection of everybody who likes classic Sabbath and bands like Kyuss. I can't give this one more than 10/10.

That's funny that you mention that...I recently bought a CD by the Sundays (god, her voice is great), and instead of it being the Sundays, it was Peter Gabriel. I didn't think this type of thing was that common. Anyway, I kept it and am thinking of seeing if any hard-hard-core Peter Gabriel fans would think it's collector-ish material.....
So I ask you, say someone had a Blind Melon CD, but the music on the CD was actually Dream Theater, how many of you out there would be interested in buying it?

I once bought a Metallica disc, and the disc inside was an Erasure disc. Scary.

"Dream Theater rules!!!!!" "I know." "They rule a lot." "Totally rule everything." "Images and Words is cool." "I like Awake." "Portnoy is a great drummer." "Yup." "Petrucci is a really good guitarist." "I know." "He plays for Dream Theater." "They rule."
and you get the point.
