For me, Anglagard-Hybris sound like King Crimson + Van Der Graaf Generator.
It has a really dark mood feeling of both bands.
    This band use 4 mellotrons!

    Hello!

Question to all you guitar players out there:

I'm thinking about changing the bridge pickup for my Ibanez, and I was
wondering if you could give me some suggestions.I've been thinking about
maybe getting a Dimarzio Steve's Special (JP is my god!) or maybe some
"Air" model.Or I could try some Duncans, like the Duncan Distortion or
Invader...Any users of these out there?I play mostly music in the spirit
of DT and Savatage.Pass me a tip, will ya?

I laughed my ass off when I read this. No offense.

As far as moaning women go - if you can stand industrial techno, and want an
album that'll make any religious person run screaming from your house, then
get anything by Lords of Acid. I mean, come on - they have a song sung by a
woman called 'Sit on your Face.' (/me wipes a tear away). It's... beautiful
    (sniffle).
Seriously, it's out-of-control sexuality put to disc, and hysterical. A, uh,
a friend of mine has it. Really. No, really! :)

    NY POST
    4/29/98
    PAGE SIX
By RICHARD JOHNSON with Jeane MacIntosh

Leo doesn't measure up to dwarf

LEONARDO DiCaprio is getting his butt kicked by a dwarf.

The teen heartthrob has fallen to number two in People (magazine)
Online's 'Most Beautiful People' poll, behind Hank 'the Angry, Drunken
Dwarf' - a member of Howard Stern's whack pack.

By late yesterday, Hank had logged 5,146 votes from fans, nearly 20
    percent more than No. 2 DiCaprio's 4,338.

Both leaders are handily in front of other contenders. Michelle Kwan
is in third place, with 2,597 votes, while Kate Winslet has 2,361.
George Clooney, Demi Moore, Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts,
Tom Cruise, David Duchovny, Mel Gibson and Winona Ryder haven't even
    placed in the top 10.

Leo's unprecedented flogging is largely due to the efforts of fans at
an unofficial Stern website who've launched a log-in campaign on
    Hank's behalf.

On Monday, the dwarf was about 1,000 votes behind front runner
DiCaprio, but surged to first place after Stern urged listeners to
    vote during his morning show.

'Hank is the poster boy for re-defining the idea of 'beauty,' joked
    one backer.

During his reign as a Stern regular, the cantankerous Hank - a bitter,
ne'er-do-well who lives with his mother in Boston and sees life
through a pair of beer goggles - has repeatedly failed the radio shock

Stern regularly tries to help Hank, flying him in for press
conferences and inviting him to events.

The radio host once sent Hank to Florida, as a representative of the
show, to accept an award. But the dwarf got so drunk the airline
wouldn't let him on the plane.

Meanwhile, the titanic upset has sparked a Leo backlash at People.

'It's about time somebody knocked DiCaprio off his pedestial,' cracked
    one insider.

Added another: 'Personally, I hope the drunk dwarf wins'

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for People Online noted that while a
surprise, Hank is a bonafide contender. 'He's alive and well and on
the ballot. We're completely democratic - if he wins, he'll get his
picture and story on the website, like all the others.'

Yeah, Lizzy Borden rocks! I first heard them on some of the Metal Blade sampler discs. I then bought the greatest hits and was hooked. I bought Master Of Disguise and a couple of others. I even traded Chris Anderson (yes, a successful trade) to get a copy of a Lizzy Borden video, Murderous roadshow or something like that-wild stuff...

Anyone know where Lizzy is today?

Yeah, I have two albums,AotNS and Vertical Invader (1990 or 91) Regarding the first album, the title track is kinda cool. There is one track called KDFJHSAD (not sure of the spelling) :-) which is NOTHING but a 5 minute stretch of chromatics. With NOTHING I mean NOTHING; ie. no drums, no bass, no keys. Just one guitar. 100% shred.

His second album also got some cool stuff. (Within reason.) :-)

(He also had a band MASI, which released a couple of albums with vocals (There is one vocal track on AotNS, with Jeff Scott Soto on vocals.))

Hello everybody...(Hi Doctor Nick) --> blatant Simpsons reference

Anyways, I will be traveling to both the shows in Cincinnati and Detroit, leaving from Madison, Wisconsin (in my trusty rental car), and returning for the Chicago show on Wednesday night. If anyone would like a pickup along the way to either of the two aforementioned shows, please do give a holler (I would say Chicago as well, but I believe my car is full for that one). I don't have my directions in front of me, but if anyone emails me privately (and of course wants a ride), I'll be happy to fill you in on how I'm going, and from there we can relay specific directions. Wow, now that I reread this, it's just about as clear as mud.

Good grief, I didn't think I'd ever see that name again. I bought that album back in 1989 solely on the basis of an advertisement in a mag I was reading (the cover was cool). A mistake. Disappointing for the most part, just lots of notes jumbled together at high speed. It doesn't even have the real melodic quality of many neoclassical shred albums -- most of the notes seem to have no relation to any of the other ones. Just a jumble. Some songs were good, but they were the minority. I haven't listened to it in years and I never heard anything from Masi again.

Madsman? You're the expert on shredders...Where is He Now? (apologies to DT).

    Hi everyone!

I haven't been on the list for a while now (for lack of time, not 'cause I don't love all you guys!), but I need some help and this seemed like the best place to turn. Some of you may be familiar with the English band Mr. So & So, (I know the people I traded with in the tape swap do!) but most of you aren't. Suffice it to say that as far as 90's prog bands go, their music is on the same level as DT, Spock's Beard and all our other faves. Unfortunately, although they have been playing gigs regularly in Britain for several years now, they're still unknown in the US.

In support of their upcoming new disc, Mr. So & So plans to come to the US late this summer. However, they need to get in touch with concert promoters here in the States. If you can put me in touch with anyone fitting that bill who would handle a show like this (clubs & such), please let me know. I have been in touch with the band and have agreed to help them out.

Support prog music! Help Mr. So & So gain recognition in the US!

    Thanks for reading,
