I just wanted to take a second to mention what a service that Mark is doing
for the band and for the fans. A site like Under a Cyber Moon that generates
lots of daily hits a keeps updated provides other websites that want to
promote Dream Theater online a place to go and advertise their involvement.
Without a place like UACM these people who would otherwise promote DT might
feel it too diffulcult to promote and find the fanbase and therefore not
think it worth their time to do interviews and shows. When a place like
Liveconcerts now does a thing like the Explorer's club listening party and
they see a nice turnout then they feel like that is an avenue they can
continue to successfully explore. This can only mean that we the fans can
see more things coming to us... which is a good thing!

I'm not saying that UACM is the only place that contributes to the DT
community but Mark is very active and high profile, taking the time and
effort to promote his site and get it noticed. Its an easy find for
promoters and fans alike. That takes quite a bit of effort and sacrifice.

I'm not doing this merely as a pat on the back, but also kinda to remind
people that if we want to make sure that DT and bands like DT continue to be
able to get support from the powers that be then we need to at least make it
look like there is an active community that will visit promotions and help
generate hits for people who depend on them for their income. If the prog
loving community gets a reputation for a "go to" kind of group because of
our loyalty and participation then things can snowball and people will get
    interested.

Just thought it was worth mentioning.

Hey look at that, the DerShe and KevMo thread again... :)
I think last time this popped up I said that I preferred KevMo's powerful
chords like in The Mirror and Pull Me Under, but I love DerShe's new
'jazzing up' of the band, like in JLMB and ACOS. Anyway, there's my $0.02.
BTW, If that's Australian $0.02, it's actually worth less in the USA, and
therefore so is my comment... ;-)

I find this upsetting....I mean alot of times a song on a cd wont hit me
until I've listened to my "favorites" over and over again. And then one day
when I stick the cd in a song that I didnt like will jump out and bite me on
the ass... sometimes turning into all time favorites. This happened to me
with Voices.. I just didnt see it right away... then one night I stick on
the headphones pop Awake into the player hit play and kinda laid there in
bed listening and thinking. Voices comes on and I start hearing all this
    really cool shit going on...

    an "oh wow" moment...

Well, with survive I mean their music. Sure they will not die because
they don't have enough food are so.

Belive me I know so many awesome talented prog bands here in Germany
who have gave up after they've seen that they don't get any support.
They simply change their style to power metal or Industiral/Alternative and
    so on.

Actully, Rising Sun has made some preshure to Empty Tremor regarding their
style. They said "you better make some easier music with more power speed
stuff than complex time sigs and prog elements".

6 months ago I've tried to get a deal for ET by Inside Out records (Vanden Plas,
Enchant, Symphony X, Spock's Beard, Rhypsody and ...)

They've said, they don't have any interests in ET because of their music and
the fact that they came from Italy !
I ask "so what about Rhypsody ?" And they said, "well this is another thing.
"They make symphonic power metal and we can sell this kind of music".

You see, it's all about money and nothing else. Even Magna Carta thinks so :-((

Btw, I would like to thank you all in the name of Empty Tremor for all your
    support.

I always thought DT have the best fans in the world. Viva Ytsejam ;-)

P.S. I can't help myself but I love Spice Girls Viva Forever song.

Woho wohooo. I've this one. It's one of the most uncommercial music I've ever heard.
It very very very experimental and techincal and this fact make this record
so especial. The musicians are all really good.
The only thing I don't like is that there are no keyboards.
But the bass player (Michael Manring) is a killer. Just incredible.

    The tracks are :

    ATM (2:55)
    An Exchange Of Niceties (2:33)
    Scapula (5:13)
    Snip (0:22)

...well it can be a vareity of things, but there's one thing I started
thinking about the other day when I was bored (no sexually explicit
    material involved) and that is;

If a band were a punch (or series of), what type of punch (or series of)
    would it be?

    Here's some starters;

If DT were a punch (or series of) it would be a series of punches
varying from soft to extreme and ranging from the groin the noise in a
complexly ordered combination that constantly changes once you think
you've discovered some sort of pattern and believe you may be able to
    defend yourself.

If Stratovrius were a punch (or series of) it would be a series of
straight-up, right handed power punches to the solarplex, indespersed by
series of lightning fast left-right-left-right punches of equal power.

If Fates Warning were a punch (or series of) they would be a series of
hard punches to odd places like the knees and armpit which would serve
as a basis for the incoming onslaught of a pleasant shade of punches
which are of relatively moderate-soft power but somehow still manage to
    knock the shit outta ya.

If Angra were a punch (or series of) they would be a series of varying
soft to hard punches indespersed by some dazzling, variation punches on
a theme by Paganini or some Eine Kleine NachtPunches.

...this isn't an attempt to start some sort of stupid thread, I don't
even know WTF it's supposed to mean myself, guess I just had to vent the
ol' noggin and it happened to be in the direction of the Jam....

    Cheerin'

Okay, I THINK what Arash meant originally by "they need to sell CD's to
survive" was not necessarily "survive" as in food/shelter kinda thing.
I believe he meant "survive" as a band.

Jen!!! Hello, I'm still here! And yes, that inside joke is timeless!

As many of you may recall I was quite the 'jam poster a while back. A lot
of my email has been cut down to a minimum due to the little fiasco last
year involving a personal web page placed on the server of the company I
work for. Those of you close to me know the details, for the rest of you
let's just say I got over-zealous, started linking to all sorts of stuff
and was called in by my personnel director and told to take my web page
down and I was subjected to a fine. Oh well - at least I still got to keep
    my job (smirk).

So I'm still skimming the 'jams at lightning speed (don't want to be
snagged from the power tower at work) and I do miss posting and yelling at
    the men (giggle).

Jen, I'll plan on dropping you some mail so we can catch up!!!!

Ditto for Deb S, I'll be in touch soon!

Oh and to Carol about the JAP - you nailed it on the head! I had a
neighbor about 10 years ago who was one and she ruled the world from her
Craftmatic adjustable bed (big roaring laugh). The neighborhood lived in
    fear of her.

    Take care everyone!
