    Hi all...

Someone just recommended the band Theatre of Tragedy... I have heard bits
    of the music but not
the lyrical content. Someone else told me that they were on the "evil"
    bandwagon. I understand
    that they have gothic overtones.

Anyone who is familiar with the group please e-mail me and tell me more
    about them or offer a
    recommendation.

    Thanks - Everett

    <<Well, I'm glad that I wasn't wrong with LTiA (KC's 2nd album), but
I didn't know that he's been the drummer ever since. When exactly did he
play live with Genesis?? After he left Yes and before he entered KC??
    >>

first, LTiA was NOT KCs 2nd album. In the Wake of Posideon was. Then
came Lizard, then Islands (or that could be the other way around). From what
Ive gathered about Bruford's playing in these 3 bands the order goes: Yes, then
Crimson, then Genesis. for a while after Red, KC was broken up (notice the long
span of time between Red and Discipline. I heard that Fripp was actually going to
call this "new" band Discipline, but decided that it sounded too much like Crimson
that he resurected the "dead" name. Bruford played for Genesis on the Trick of a Tail
tour, which was 75. Red was released in 74. Whew!

    Hi, this is Derek

A lot of you have been trying to put me in catagorize me with no success so
    let me help you out.

I am a 100% Rock n Roll keyboard player who loves to play a lot of notes. I
also love to play with the women !!!!!

Those of you who think I am a homo or poser...jokes on you!! because while you
are wasting time writing about me....I'm living my dream on a daily basis
meeting beautiful women across the world....not to mention play with one of
the best bands in the world!!!

As far as kevin moore goes, i met him one time and found him to be a
gentleman. I have expressed my respect for him in many interviews, and I wish
him the best with his career.

Can this stupid debate please end ? ....surely there are more interesting
things to talk about like charlie dominici's pathetic video that he is trying
    to sell!!

    peace out, Derek

Korg mentioned "The Way It Used to B (sides)", noting the title was corny.
Well, hey, if you can get away with "Once in a LIVEtime", you can put out
"The Way It Used to B (sides)". I'd personally call it "Metropolitan
Museum of B-Sides", but that's just my own cheez coming through. ^_^

I agree with most everybody who has responded -- the idea's great. I
wasn't able to get the Lie or HY singles, so I'm missing a lot of cool
stuff. I'm sure that this stuff would be new to a lot of DT fans (I
wonder what % of the fanbase we represent? Maybe 1 or 2%?), and collected
for $12 or $15, it'd be beautiful! Kinda like Megadeth's version, only
with more stuff, and stuff we haven't heard, like the unused FII songs
(I'd donate an organ to hear Raise the Knife all the way through with
vocals!) or that song that everybody wants to hear that I won't mention
because that shouldn't be the only reason to buy the CD (though I doubt
many of us looked at the ACOS EP and said, "Whoa! Love Lies Bleeding
*and* Funeral For a Friend! I'm so on that!").

I feel like I'm giving my Christams list to Santa or something.
Obviously, one would want to avoid overexposure, but still, a spring
release or somthing would rock nadz while we wait and let you take your
time with the next big album of doom (tm).

HOWEVER, I'm also all for putting M2 (John Cameron directing?) on the new
album. I'm also not against putting the unused FII songs on the new
album. But it may be more logical to just put the songs on a dedicated
EP ("The Way They Used To Be?") and let the new music fill the new album.

I also like Swiss chees, but that's beside the point.

Not having heard Larks I cannot comment on your copy, but the first
several with Greg Lake seem pretty even in production quality to me. You
may want to pick up The Night Watch-a live 2cd set which was used for the
Starless Album. The whole show was remastered by RF and sounds decent.
Apparently, DGM will be re-releasing The Great Deceiver Box which would be
the definitive have-to-have for KC fans.

    Peace.

You know, it's funny how the same tired, bullshit (blah-vs.blah) topics getting all the responses and threads, when an occassional serious question, or topic gets looked over (like this one will) just so everyone can go on spewing their so self-important opinion on things. Well, I hate to say it, but I second the motion of the person who said her opinion doesn't count and that no one is listening. I guess the clique lives on even on the ytsejam list. Oh well. I have brain surgery to go perform on a hungarian bat over in Jersey City. Thats seems more interesting.

You know, I have been thinking of adding guitar to my keyboards/vocals ability, but every time I go to do it, one thing stops me, besides themoney, I mean. it is the impatience. The guitar is logically laid out differently, and I know the way I am. If I weren't like Eddie Van Halen in two weeks, I would get pissed off and give up. Besides, I would want to get a hold of all the effects and such right away. I would want to sound like JP in a matter of a year and I know that's not possible. I guess I realize that I would be a green day guitar player for a while and I don't want that.

For those whe were curious (and also those who weren't) Bozzio is now the drummer for the Knack (My Sharona) on their new album "Zoom." Besides VAI and MP; he has also played with FZ (get Sheik Yerbouti or Live in NY (!!)) as well as replacing Bruford in UK for the last couple of albums. His additions to Zappa's band really showcase his talents more than elsewhere. Just call me the encyclopedia. (Abridged of course). Word to all of you.

OK, dtc first. Is there anybody with an extra ticket to the Jones beach show that can send it my way, and give a ride. I know the show is on Sunday. I don't want anybody to go out of their way, and considering that I can't afford to pay for the ticket, unless it is $25, I can pay you on the first of the month. You may call me a cheapskate, but I live off of social security because I am blind, and I don't get much. I don't go out much, either. As you can probably tell from my posting frenzies. Anyway, if anybody from NJ is going to jones beach and wouldn't mind me tagging along in the car, I promise, I am entertaining enough for you, and wouldn't mind spotting me a ticket, email me at damon@monmouth.com. I am good for the money, just not until September. I will give you collatoral if I have to.

Secondly, I have a question for the players in our group. Would you join a generic rock band if the offer was given to you? I auditioned for a matchbox 20/googoo dolls/wallflowers type band last night.. Now, I have nothing mcuh to do musically, no prog bands are beating down my door, and I really wouldn't mind the work, but this is a little too constrictive for me. Just playing organ chords is not my idea of entertainment. I play in a cover band as well, but these guys have their thumbs up their ass and would rather sit in a rehearsal studio every week looking for the next James Labrie of cover tunes than using what we have, (I can sing) to go out and make some money and play. So, would you all join this mess? They are signed to the local record label, but that isn't saying much at all. Am I sacrificing my integrity here? I won't be making much money, and they say they want to do some coverstuff too. What do you all think of this?

Well, from all the concert reviews online that had you with a different girl every show, I didn't figure you a homosexual. Poser? That depends on who you talk to. Some people's idea of poser is someone who thinks that hitting up a different chick every night is cool. In fact, it would seem that, from the way your wrote that paragraph that you'd put that right above playing for Dream Theater which is, lo and behold, the reason you're playing for them in the first place.
