    Hi there yet once again,

What's been going on in the jam lately? I'm on ack mode and have been
getting about 10 messages per hour. This means about 5 jams a day! And
most of it is genuine crap! the Ashouria flames, the Damonjam and the
flaming Derek or Derek vs Kevin shit. If I wanted recycled threads and
flame wars I'd be reading alt.music.dream-theater. The jam's supposed to
be a place of real, intersesting and most important, NEW threads.

Really. If you have nothing better to say, shut the fuck up!

Actually, this phrase reminds me of my ex-english teacher. About two
years ago, I pissed her a lot and she broke up, yelling: "SHAI! SHUT THE
FUCK UP!" (she's from Bruklin originally). One year later she retired
    and never teached again...

    Now back to the topic:

Damon, you don't have to reply to every Derek vs Kevin post. So you are
a keyboard player. But you don't see us all replying to all of the post.
Some advise: read all of the related posts. Then reply to the main
subject. Currently, you're writing the same shit 17 times per jam and
    frankly I'm sick'n'tired of it.

And I thought Derek asked to stop the goddamn thread...

Hey Pat, I totaly agree with you. FII is a great album.

I can't help myself but Grugne is the music Nirvana and Pearl Jam are doing. Alternative music is the music Therapy ?, Smashing Punpkins or Radiohead.

    Eckie wrote :

Well, I also think that the sound of FII is a bit too 90's like. I mean "Images And Words" is from 1992 and "Awake" is from 1994 but the sound of these album isn't 90's like. This is of course ONLY my opinion.

    >You guys have to stop thinking that "Simple music is for simple people." >It's not. Instead, you should have the mindset: "All music is for all people." > Because it is.

Well, I listen to all kind of good music: Soul, RMB, pop, rock, hardrock, new age, classic, jazz, metal and my brother Arman dose the same. Sometimes he is a bit too hard while telling his opinion. He is 16, so I'm sure he will learn.

ANYWAY, PLEASE END THE FLAME WARS AND LET's TALK ABOUT SOMETHING MORE INTERESTING.

Well, I (obviously) don't know what was the speed of CP's double bass, and when someone is playing live, they're always in a stress situation, which helps to make some things even more extreme, BUT the fastest double bass that I've ever heard is recorded in Emperor's "Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk" (wow, it's been a while since I last read anything about black metal on the Jam).

That double bass almost sounds like a constant noise. In fact that album has the fastest drumming I've ever heard. :-)

Unbelievable. That beginning is simply incredible (and sick).

If I'm not mistaken, ELP did an studio cover of "21st Century Schizoid Man". Again, if I'm not mistaken, it was released in their box set.

Yes. It should be Arman instead of Arash.

The REAL funny thing is that everbody is start flaming at Empty Tremor the minute my brother Arman said that FII sucks.

And Clinton is saing that the stupid terrorists are against USA because it stays for DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM.

Now I ask you, don't you think everyone should have the chance to say what he likes to say (opinion, tastes) without being called "Motherfucker", "Asshole" and shits like that ?

You guys compare Empty Tremor with Hanson just because Arman says something you don't like. I don't agree with him but I don't flame at him.

I say "Do, think and say what you like" and I do it the way I like"

    Hi

I just want to say that AZTEC JADE from USA is a really great prog band. Fans of DT, Fates Warning, Enchant or Rush should probebly like their music.

The album "Frame Of Mind" is really great. Check them out. Some of the melodies and breaks reminds me of WDADU.

    Whoa! You're alive!

Anyway, Sepultura isn't exactly the place I'd look (or hear, for that matter) :-) for when I'd like to listen to some solos. :-) If you know what I mean (granted, Andreas sounded in their beginning like a faster Kirk "Hamster"). :-))

But a cool thing was to listen to that guy play Steve Howe's "Mood for a Day" some months ago on the now deceived Tatuape FM 89.5. I should have recorded that event (he also played a "Kaiowas" and other cool things).

Well.. actually thats also true, I hadnt seen a single post saying bad things about ET before Arman's message.. so that kind of goes to prove the glass houses/rocks thing...

    Hey jammers,

I'm going to the Mike Portnoy clinic at Melodee Music in Sterling, VA on Wednesday, September 30th. I wanted to know if anybody wanted to go with me. I live in the Richmond, VA area. I haven't made it to any concerts yet, so I haven't been able to meet any jammers and thought this would be a good chance. Send private e-mail if you're interested.

Starting this week I'll be out in LA till a little bit after Labor Day. Since this is my first visit to out there and I am going out on company business I'll prob. be a bit bored. Anyone care to suggest some places to see or things to do? General tips about what to do or not to do would be helpful also. Any good shows going on? How's the public trans system? Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks! Ryan

ps..email to avoid cluttering the jam with this

    Hey all,

Some people seem to be missing the point. My original post wasn't about his sexuality, which is of really no importance to me. I would love Dream Theater just as much if they were all homosexual, or if they practiced bestiality (although it would be pretty sick! :). That wasn't the point. The point was just the unprofessionalism he exhibited in mentioning such banalities. There was no use for it. That's all. Hey, I still like the guy, and love the band. I was just disppointed that's all. Maybe all of them are like that..but he's the only one who mentioned it.

On another note, FII is the first DT album on which there is a song (two as a matter of fact) that I feel compelled to skip all the time. TAMP and AL are the two songs that I usually always skip. Just don't really enjoy them I guess. AL kinda sounds like a George Michael special. And TAMP just never really captivated me. I like HY though. The rest is excellent. Especially PS and TOT...I think I prefer TOT to LiTS. Of course, I can't wait for Metropolis II. Does anyone know when that is coming out?????? I heard a clip, and it pretty much seems to rock!!

    Vince

I can play it, but not as fluidly as it sounds on Awake. What do you want to know? The tabs for the song on the Awake book took a little getting used to, but just tap the chords with your attack hands. I don't have a guitar in front of me, so I honestly can't tell you what I do with the pick, cuz it sure does get in the way.

    Hope this helps a little...

Please get signed up soon. We all had a blast last year. It's only $29.95 and well worth it. You also get full access to the rest of the ESPN site during the season - meaning you get all of the bonus crap like videos and soundclips and stuff.
