I had been disappointed with the jam recently and hence not bothered
to post anything as there was nothing good to reply to.
However, I thought the reply by Derek was great, and at a much higher
level than his previous post.
I hope that the slanging matches/flame wars that have been on the list
recently will not dissuade other band members (no pun intended) to get
on here and chat. Mike always seems to post so lets hope it is going
to get better on here.

My sentiments too... My check was returned as the PO Box was closed down... At least my envelope was returned intact..
But turns out you have to send CASH now overseas... Here is what I found out... Send cash a $20 dollar bill to:

put a card or a note with your full name, address, birthdate, and country. I think it's like $18 but easier to conceal a single $20 and tell them to just keep the change on that note. Might wanna put a thank-you card or something simple so that nobody can easily hold it up to a light and see cash inside. Just FYI.
And a note to those MIME and HTML posters.... It doesn't take a lot of common sense to go look through your Email programs to find some "OPTIONS" or "CONFIGURATION" or "PREFERENCES" and go looking for options to turn off HTML and MIME. The OWNER OF THIS LIST has asked people politely on many occasions to turn this crap OFF while posting to the Ytsejam and people continue to abuse this. If some people found themselves unsubscribed from the list until they can either DISABLE the damn HTML and/or MIME postings or simply use ANOTHER Email program to post to the 'Jam.... Come on people.. Let's stop the damn HTML and MIME postings. It just takes up twice the space and who needs to read all those posts twice!!!

I have to agree here. I liked Voices, at least when it was actually *around*. Of course, I was a pretty big fan of the moderated Ytsejam, too.
Perhaps there is someone else who could take over moderating duties in order to resurrect Voices? I'm not sure exactly what that entails, but I'm sure there is interest out there.

I don't know why you guys are doing it over ESPN and paying $30, when you can do it through Sandbox/Yahoo! for free....
ESPN is probably better, but you would probably get more people to do it if it were free.....

Turning off HTML is SO EASY in Microsoft Outlook 98.
1. Click on ADDRESS BOOK 2. Click on YTSEJAM in there 3. Click on PROPERTIES 4. Click the box "SEND EMAIL USING PLAIN TEXT ONLY" at the bottom.
DONE. It's that easy people.
That way.. you can still send your precious damn HTML/MIME to other people but NOT the 'JAM. So hop to it.
It's gotta be very easy to turn off HTML in Nutscrape and Eudora as well.
Let's thin out the Jam a bit by unsubbing some of these repeat offenders of the HTML and MIME postings !!
I hope everyone who sends posts in HTML and MIME format are happy. They know when they read their own posts on the 'Jam and at the end of their text they see their ENTIRE message all over again with all that gibberish. They just ate up room that could have been 1 or 2 more posts from others. Hell some of the longer messages with the big quotings from prior posts can eat up room for 4 or 5 more messages from others. So when you post in HTML and/or MIME format and you see your posts on the 'Jam, give yourself a pat on the back for being a DICK. Walk tall and smile the rest of the day knowing you stand out like a sore thumb and have a big "L" on your forehead.

1. From the File menu, Click on Tools. 2. Select Options (all the way at the bottom, you morons! :P ) 3. Click the Send tab. Set both your Mail and News sending formats to PLAIN TEXT!!!!!!! 4. Click on the Settings for each sending format and make sure "Automatically wrap text at XX characters" is set at 70-75. 5. Click "OK"
You should now be set to post without pissing off the godz...just don't say anything stoopid!! :)

I would also like to get my hands on a new DT album(Who wouldnīt?) as fast as possible but a live album is a damn good way to make the waiting more enjoyable.I also like to listen to the live versions of songs more than I like to listen to the album versions.Iīm particularly interested to hear the FII songs live, since I didnīt like some of the songs because of the crappy mix(<--IMHO).
