Arash is right. HE didn't do anything to get flamed.
Neither did Empty Tremor (BTW, excellent band IMO).

So let's leave 'em alone and quit the flames. (/me thinks I'm probably
gonna get flamed myself for defending an infamous Ashouriha brother....
    but oh well).

It is ok to say you dont like FII but when you are a big time A$$hole
about it, you are going to get flamed. Your brother could have been
nicer about it but the way he went about it wasn't acceptable to the
masses. He then goes and talks about how much better Empty Tremor is and
we are all ready subjected to posts about how good Empty Tremor is from
you. This then causes you to get included in the flamefest.

    Man I am fuming...............

I sent Derek Shenanigan $40 for 3 boot cd's and an original copy of Subconscious well over 18 months ago and I haven't heard squat since...........this is just not good enough............he shouldn't be in business if he can't be professional and provide a reasonable level of customer service.......

As far as the ongoing Mike Bahr/Kev Moore keyboard crap goes..why not give these guys a break, Mike filled Kev's shoes as well as he could, he's a professional musician not just a mere fan who makes a living from the vagueries of the copyright law. Both of these guys have their own style so let it lie.

And on a final note (a slightly more serious one this time) being a fan can be one of the most frustrating and yet amazingly rewarding things. I've enjoyed reading the jammers views on the growth of the band, the Ytsejam and the fan base over the years and there must be mixed feelings at your 'secret' band becoming more popular, I had this the first time I saw somebody else in a KX Gretchen t shirt

However the crux of the frustration is that often fans believe that whilst they have an inherent power through their support of the band via purchases and concert attendance etc......the band is still an entity in itself and has to grow, learn, MATURE just like any other group of people. Some fans seem to feel such a strong sense of ownership of 'their' band that they really want to dictate the direction, personnel, wardrobe, producer etc.... (lets hear it for David Praters' job on I&W, that is impressive stuff considering the complexity)

I believe we jammers are a very lucky bunch, we have a real feeling for the band and the feedback from them, especially MP, is second to none. The thing they need now more than anything else is a sense of trust in us that we are there for them, that they can spread their musical wings and surprise us but also remind us that these guys have something special and that thing is TALENT & ABILITY (which can be translated as Balls & Chunk....cos thats where its at !)

Sorry about the stupid first part of the jam but I'm at work, bored and looking forward to 3 weeks holiday in Malaysia (lots of cool bootleg stores i hope)

    Love, Kisses and Ytsehugs

YES. Mind you that I'm half awake right now, but I definitely feel music. <snip> On a deeper level the best examples for "cross sensing" come from the Holocaust survivor stories, where pieces of paper, or sounds without any scientific traces of odor evoke odor and traumatic sensation. And I'm sorry if nobody cares about anything I've said, if I read way too much of the original three lines that were written, or if I'm not capturing this quite right. On a more common perspective, Blue can make you feel cool like water. Certainly more so than red. Association allows the mind to picture red, hot, fire. Of course if you want to smell colors, you can buy scented markers :) For a while Crayola was going to market flavored crayons.. -oOo-

This crossover effect on the senses is called synaesthesia. The French romantic poet Arthur Rimbaud wrote a poem based on how different vowels had different colours for him. A lot of fin-de-siecle artists and writers I'm interested in tried to develop this as well. And Wagner was very interested in the 'whole' experience, trying to meld music and visuals.

I HONESTLY thought the same exact thing. I kept hearing about how mellow Spock's Beard is..... and I figured I wouldn't like 'em. Boy, was I ever DEAD FUCKING WRONG. "The Kindness of Strangers" absolutely, positively blew me away!

About the canceled DT show......... I feel bad for you 'jammers that were there. That sucks hardcore. :-( They should've just let DT and ELP play extended sets. Damn, I really hope that Saturday's Detroit show isn't canceled too.

I just found (MUCH to my surprise) Stratovarius live "Visions of Europe" 2CD for $14.99 at Harmony House. What the hell is up with this? I'm shocked I saw ANYTHING by Stratovarius at a regular store..... and even more shocked that a 2CD set was only $14.99!

How about the new Rush Live album "Dimlit Stages for All Ages"

Although I hope they don't decide to 'dim' the lights on their stage just yet, but with Neil Peart losing his wife I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Then again this is Neil we're talking about. He might decide to bury himself completly in Rush and keep plugging away with new music.

What's really funny is that the "competitive" rock station (WYSP) were cracking jokes all night about how "at least their concerts actually get on stage" - i found it mildly amusing.

I'd doubt it. From the reports I'm getting from Anthem, after this they don't expect anything more out of Rush. I know Atlantic wants to release a "best of" comp from their Atlantic years, but besides that, I wouldn't be holding my breath for any more Rush stuff. Of course, if there *is* more Rush stuff, I'd consider that a hell of a bonus.

I've heard he will, although I've heard nothing from Anthem to support the claim.

For those of you who doubt, how many of us have ever felt the hair stand up on our arms from the music? Or been moved close to tears from the passion in a particular singer's voice. I must say also that when playing music, you can get in a zone that sparks the best in creativity from all the musicians gathered. When the musicianship level is high (not referring to the aid of legal/illegal stimulants) it spurs one to push to another level. Usually, an audience can recognize when that kind of magic happens. Music lives and breathes and affects each person differently. I only hope that you all know of what I speak. When I first heard Awake (my virgin DT experience) it blew me away (so to speak) from the get-go. I was playing in a rock band of sorts and wanted to play something in the line of DP/Uriah Heep, then I heard 6:00, and thought it was just what I needed. The group fell apart, but DT has still been a terrific inspiration to me. I just need to put some of my thoughts down on paper before I forget them.

I had a similar experience with A-ha (don't laugh). I had purchased Stay on these Roads when it came out for The Living Daylights. I couldn't stand the rest of the album. Then several years later after living a little more, I listened to it again, and I appreciated different parts of it for different reasons. I've noticed with myself that most of the time, I value the first album I hear by a particular artist, ie DT-the first album I heard was Awake and I like it better than I&W. Another person with whom I worked had heard I&W first, and he loved that album above any other. With Genesis, Foxtrot was the first album I heard with PG on lead vox, and it and LLDoB are my tied faves. With Marillion, the first one with Fish I heard was SfJT and it and CaS are my faves.
