Mr. Mojoman.. The ceiling drop story is the truth. I live in the city where it happened, and the venue is supposed to get a law suit, because of that. In Germany my thought is that the sales very low because of the support act: DORO. I'd have gone, but with her?? No f***ing way. They actually resceduled from a 6000 ppl venue to a 1500 ppl venue, but than the ceiling dropped...

yes it does. similar to people asking Tom (thats the bfriend) if he only likes Tori Amos because of me. we each liked both artists before we met. i did hear of DT through one of the guys in a band i was in at the time, but thats not any different then how the rest of the guys in the band heard of them either. ; )

My original point, which I didn't make very clear is this: being in a prog band is a never-ending financial struggle. If I'm a fan of the music, or to be more specific, a given band and I don't have all their stuff, there's no way I'm saying to myself, 'Well, I'll just waint until I find it used.' That's insane.

If you know you're going to like something (like if you've listened to it before,) you aren't doing anyone any favors (except yourself) by buying it used. Let people who otherwise would NOT buy the cd pick it up used.

August 17th is the last release date I got from Inside Out. I asked them if that date was still valid, but they haven't replied to me yet...

I've been checking online record stores for a few weeks now but so far no sign of "Platypus"... Oh well, there's always the US release on Velvel in January.

Wouldn't you know it... I just received a note from Inside Out. The album will be out in Holland next Thursday or Friday, but it has been out in Germany since yesterday (the 17th)...

Derek (if that *is* your real name): Get off AOL and get yourself hooked up with an ISP where fake mail can actually be detected. Glancing at the headers of the fake message and the one I'm responding to, there really don't seem to be any differences. I know the concern is that you want to check mail from anywhere. Look into Mindspring - people from all over have accounts with them.

um..hey now I am not a female musician unless you count singing years ago, BUT I found Dream Theater all by my self with no help from any guy or BF or insignificant other. In fact I wish I had a BF to turn HIM onto Dream Theater. AS for meeting a female musician.....your life is not yet complete until you do!

    >I tell you right now, if I ever met a chick that could bust out some flam drags on the double bass, I'd .well, thats kinda personal.

um...what about a Lady Jammer who may not play the drums but understand what that means! or who totally digs a sharp cracking snare?

Oh this is too good.... I never thought I'd live to see one of the DT members flame someone. This is such a great list. Now only if John Myung would come chew everyone out.... I *knew* the second I hit the "send" key that I should have rewritten that. Good to know I can always count on the 'jammers. :)

It is a pretty kickass track (and just for humor-impaired, no, it does *not* in fact feature half the guys from Symphony X).

Just on a Symphony X sidenote: how d'you think Jason Rullo feels about being replaced, then brought back into the band again? I can't say I'd feel a lot of love for a band which had booted me out, then invited me back when the new drummer cut loose. Maybe it's just me....
