Here are what the Italian prog metal band Time Machine has released:
    -Dungeons of the vatican
    -Project; time scanning
    -Act II: Gallileo
    -Shades of time

    Related titles:
-Eddy Antonini: When water became ice (with ex. Time Machine member)
-Arthur Falcone: Stargazer (with the singer of Time Machine)
-Mesmerize: Tales of wonder (with ex. Time Machine member)

I have the Act II: Gallileo cd and i think it`s rather good. At least
it`s definitely worth checking out if you are into melodic prog metal.=20

I have a friend who works in the sign making business, and he is able to make
stickers of (damn near) any size. I talked to him recently, and he said that
he could make me one. After he was finished, I was proud to put the
basketball-sized Ytsejam on the back of my car. Now no one will doubt I'm a
    DT fan ;o)

I was thinking that since I know I'm definitely not the only DT fan in the
world, I could help share this cool idea. If I were to have my friend make
some, and I were to sell them over the 'net, or something, would that be
legal? Afterall, it is Dream Theater's logo. I wasn't sure if this would be
copyright infringement of some kind. Just wanted to fly that by you
    guys/gals.

I doubt that the symbol is trademarked by Dream Theater,
especially since it's the letter "M" in specific font that's probably used
    by others....

However, there might be a problem is you actually associate the
name "Dream Theater" with the symbol, since the name of the band is
licensed or something (don't know the legal-ese). But then again, people
are selling the Ytsejam T-shirts as well.

If you do a sticker with just the symbol, I don't think there's a
problem at all. Hell, if someone calls you on it, just say you were
selling it to people as a monogram for their cars, and that only people
whose first or last names began with the letter "m", or only for people
who had an "m" in their name. (both of which don't apply to me). Or for
people whose cars began with "m" or had an "m" in it. (damn, still doesn't
apply to me). awww, fuck it, I don't want a sticker anyway.

Just my convoluted look at things - the crack rocks this morning :)

Actually, if you have the Live in Tokyo video, during the part
where they're in the studio making I&W, you can here the click
track, especially (I think) in the part were John Myung is
putting down the bass track. At the end of the bass part, (the
short instrumental part after "i feel kindness, beauty, and

I'm not terribly familiar with House of Lords' music, but I do know
that Lanny Cordola (who, I believe, played guitar for them) played
on a few Christian metal albums (Shout, Magdalen), and released
some solo albums of his own that had a lot of instrumentals and
songs with lyrics (Electric Warrior/Acoustic Saint and Of Riffs and
Symphonies), all of which had some sort of Christian theme.

I think that Extreme jumps our quite alot from the metal/hard rock
cliche. They have alot time changes, odd breaks, very rich arrangements
etc. They have the best rockin' sound I heard nowadays!
I guess that makes them a prog. band in a way!

Syrinx almost had it right, but missed an era of KC.

The original lineup only played on the first album.

Then came a period where the band wasn't really a band. The next
three albums ("Wake of Posidon", "Islands", "Lizard") were by a
lineup that never really jelled. I don't remember off the top of my
head who was in it, but it never really succeed to anyone's
expectation. Probably the last albums you should pick up.

I second Syrinx's recommendation for the Philly PG, Mastermind, and
FK Show. I've seen the first two and they both put on a great show.
I'll be catching the FK when they come down here on 9/8.
Unfortunatly, I can't go to the Philly show being that it is in the
middle of the week and I'm starting a new job.

BTW, when Mastermind played at Powermad, they were sporting a new
female lead singer. She both sounds and looks great, so u guys are
    in for a treat.

Yes, he did, at the Marietta drum clinic, when I asked him if LTE II might
include Jens Johannson and Billy Sheehan (the two musicians who'd
originally expressed interest in doing the LTE thing). Personally I'd love
to hear Jens on a project like this....but Mike says the LTE lineup is
solidified now and the next album will be the four of them again.

Actually, a click track is PRECISELY that, just tailored to the song -
usually because there are sequenced samples, keyboards, or vocals that are
being used live. Rush does do this occasionally - such as Roll the Bones,
for example. Look for headphones on the drummer...

    Magnus wrote...

I like "Damnation Game", but I hate the singer on the first album. Since
Russ Allen is main reason I listen to the band, however, this may make me
    biased.

It was good meeting everyone at Powermad - especially the irrepressible Dr.
Mosh, Rick "Dolby Labs" Audet, and the infamous Jessie. Now I have only a
few YtseIcons (tm) left to meet - including the Madsman himself. Maybe next
    year...

BTW, a note to Coldfire - you weren't kidding about "Tyranny" being fabulous
(I seem to remember you mentioning this at some point... :) I was somewhat
of a fan of CIS, but being one of the lucky 20 or so to come back from
Powermad with a copy of this, I'm now hooked. Yay! They found the guitars
    this time...

To anyone else: buy Shadow Gallery's "Tyranny" when it comes out. It's
    wonderful stuff...

John Norum and has already recorded 7 songs for the new album due to be

Actually, about a month ago I saw ProjecKt II in Boston (Robert Fripp,
Trey Gunn and Adrian Belew) and Fripp was really shredding. I've been
an Yngwie fan for years, and speedwise, he blew Yngwie out of the
water. You should hear him jam. He does fingertapping and arpeggios
all over the place. He also plays in the style from the many different
KC eras (Thrak, LTiA, Discipline, ITCOFCK) but he's also an incredible
player in the style of say a Malmsteen or even an EVH. In my opinion,
Fripp IS the best. And that's a bold statement, because I'm not the
kind of person who "ranks" musicians because I think it makes you look
like an ignorant asshole, but Fripp is the man at the top.
