    Hi!
Well, I have all Satch albnums so here it gores.
Man, IMO Crystal Planet is Satch worst album! No feeling at all, no
nothing! It lacks somehting that makes you interested.
Flying is great album, very rich, colourful, with differemt sounds and
    astyles.

If you wanna hear Satch rockin' you MUST find "Time Machine" - double CD
but a worth one! Contains his best work ever! You'll realize why he's in
music encyclopdieas. :-) Also has live rockin' songs. It is best album
    IMO.
Also Surfing With The alien" is very good.

If you like bluesy musci, the "Joe Satriani" album (previous one) is
EXCELLENT. It is my 2 fave Satch album! Very rich album also, very
groovy. It really doesn't leave you ignorant. Great melodies!

And finally "Extremist" is also cool album but if I rank it will be
    maybe 4-th, 5-th!

    Hope this helps! :)

When I first heard Hootie, I remember thinking that Darius sounded like Eddie Vedder. They share the same range and do similar things with the rasp in their voice. I think the song was "Hold My Hand." I also remember thinking, "Wow. I didn't know Pearl Jam could write a decent song." Sorry.

P.S. Speaking of Hootie, I just caught the video for their new single (I think it's called "I Will Wait") from their forthcoming album Musical Chairs. Let me tell you, that song is fucking incredible. It has the HUGEST chorus I have a heard from a mainstream rock band since 1994. I'll definitely be picking it up. And I'm no longer affilated with Atlantic Records, so I'm not kissing ass when I say that.

Well, as much as I hate to say it, I'm out of here. I dunno what happened, I dunno why, but I can't send a fucking thing through to the jam anymore. I'm only getting this through via my friend's mailhost and I'm not going to put up with doing this. Obviously, someone doesn't want me posting here anymore so I'm not gonna blow smoke up their ass.

Maybe if the whole thing is fixed, I'll be back at a later date if the powers that be allow, but until then, you homos keep in touch. :)

AL, to answer your question. "Why does hair not grow on ice?"

Ice has a symbiotic releationship with hair, rather than a mutual one. Hair will allow ice to grow on it and feed off of it while ice doesn't not have the nutritional requirements to support hair growth. One can grow on the other, but not vice versa. However, medical breakthroughs are taking place where as ice may not have to roam about bald any longer. They are now able to take hair follicles from pigs and "weave" them into ice, therefore allowing ice to grow hair, however artificially. But then, when I look at a map of Canada, I get the feeling it is suffering from male-pattern baldness, don't you?

I always knew he was because I remember seeing them on eMpTV along time ago (before I knew DT existed). My opinion, more specifically.

What's funny is when Hootie first came out and they had their "hits," I recall some people in my school saying "Hootie's black???" When they found this out. I thought it was a little funny. I don't think Darrius Rucker has a voice that shouts out "Hey I'm black!" so I could see how they could think he was white, but what matter does that make? I like Sevendust alot, and the singer is black. I actually think he's really good because he can do the traditional metal voice without sounding really "Cookie monster", and he can have a soulful sound. I wonder...is there a prog-metal band with a black vocalist that anyone knows exists? Just curious... Death Lord NP: Dream Theater: Falling Into Obscurity

something like that happened to me too, altough i knoew right from the start that pinnick was black ( i dont understand how could one could think otherwise....i dont know why but the richness (?) of the voice , specially on the stuff he does in the Fan club cd is a dead giveaway... i was so pleased with his voice i went out and bought King's X's greatest hits expecting something along the lines of LITS or other dt stuff but with the soulful and rich vocals...but to say i was dissapointed by the music is an understatement..anyone want a drink coaster..err cd?

Hi there.... I just thought I'd update the latest status on Superior's YOUnique (for signed copies), and also mumble a few words about this little soiree we hold each summer here in Atlanta for 18,000 of my closest friends... :)

    +-- YOUnique --+

I've been gathering orders and payments for signed copies of Superior's new CD YOUnique for people residing (mostly) in the Eastern US. After I received payment for 29 copies I sent a combined payment for 30 CDs (I "floated" one :)) over to Bernd in Germany, who received it and has now mailed the CDs back. The CDs were mailed on Friday August 21st and should be here within 11 days, so they said, so we're looking at this coming Monday or Tuesday (let's hope, anyway). As soon as they arrive I'll mail them out in the order that payments were received. This order, as well as all pertinent information on the ordering process, is on the Webpage, at http://www.crl.com/~vanyel/younique.html

I have now (finally!) received a thirtieth payment, so at this precise moment all the Cds in the first ("pre-release") batch have been taken. If they arrive soon from Bernd I should be able to get most of them out in time to beat the US release date of Sept. 6th (or so).

Pam, who handles the Western US, and I will continue to offer signed copies of this CD even after the street-date passes. If you are interested, please see the above URL. (They're $17 postpaid.)

    +-- Dragon*Con --+

If the CDs arrive later next week, I'll do my damndest to get them out as fast as possible. However, beginning late Tuesday and running through Sunday I'll be helping to present Dragon*Con here (I'm a director and the Webmaster), the world's largest science fiction/fantasy/comics/gaming/music/media convention, so it could get kinda busy. Several Ytsejammers are already planning on attending from as far away as California; if you are coming down (or up) for it and I don't know about it, please drop me a note. It'd be quite cool to have a small Ytsegathering during the con.

The URL is www.dragoncon.org. Let's just say that we have something for damn near everyone, including 15-20 bands playing. (Everything from GWAR and The Misfits to proggy bands like The Changelings and Wyzards, and lots of cool stuff in between.) Over 300 guests; over 18,000 attended last year.....it's THE summer event in Atlanta. If you're interested in this, please drop me email.

Mark Peters and Phil Carter, I'll hold your CDs and give them to you at Dragon*Con when I see you. :)

Gonna be a BUSY week, --Paul (downloading and archiving Jams right now; please respond via email)

interesting, had no idea he was black, pretty cool though. I know what you're saying about alot of black singers and white singers, stereotypically, they're easy to identify, but everytime I hear Luther Kent or Joe Cocker, it's hard to believe they're white, and everytime I hear Nat King Cole, hard to believe he's black. Of course, our judgements on it all are all basically stereotypes, believing that the black singer is more soulful and rough sounding and the white singer is more technical and "pure" sounding, of which both is bullshit, I love listening to Doug Pinnick, James Brown and Johnny Hartman just as much as I enjoy listening to Geoff Tate, Frank Sinatra and Joe Cocker....:) Every type of singer has their own sound, and that's all that matters. hope i said this without offending anyone, talking about anything like this is touchy, but it's all meant with good intentions...:)

btw, some DT content here, was about to buy the Live at the Marquee CD, can anyone tell me if it's any good??? haven't bought any live stuff of any prog bands, so if anyone could let me know, i'd appreciate it...:) -- Geaux Tigers!!!! http://www.angelfire.com/la/qryche/index.html "I Know If I Try, I'll Get Where I'm Going/ Keeping My Eyes On the Sky" -"Some People Fly" by Queensryche

No flames from me - your question has a simple answer.

There's no 'Deth bashing cuz there are no lamers in Megadeth. No sucky lead guitarists who can't play in tune, for example. No tasteless lead singers who add extra syllables to the end of every line, for another. And no drummers who talk about how great it is to play simple music instead of that annoying progressive stuff.

And I'm sure Damon would agree ;^)

I actually have that episode on tape. It's a special 2-hour episode of CHiPs called "CHiPs vs. the Punk Rockers." (I'm serious about that, too :). The climax had a battle of the bands with the punk rockers causing a riot, and Ponch's sorta glamish band winning with a cover of "Celebration." A total riot :). I do also recommend the Paul Gilbert song for anyone curious. I'm not terribly familiar with his stuff, so I checked it out and was pleased. Did any St. Louis jammers make the Anthrax show the other night? I missed. Just wondering if it was good.

First of all, DT will be at Guitar Center Hollywood in about an hour. I can't make it though

i saw RATT at the Keyclub last night on the Sunset strip and it kickedass. ass. I think a lot of bands are "overly prog" and should just stick to the straight up stuff.

Pretty Boy Floyd opened up. Cross Poison with Crue and thats what they are. They were pretty fun, straight out of the eighties with make up and all. Try to catch them on the 'ROCK NEVER STOPS TOUR'. I met the bassisst after and he was pretty cool.

RATT kicked ass with all the classics and a couple new songs. DeMartini is an awesome guitarist. I met Steven Pearcy and Robbie Crane afterwords. Both were very cool guys. Crane especially must be the nicest dude ever. He even invited the three of us to hang out with them ata bar in the Hyatt but we chickened out and didn't go.

I saw the guitarist for Rage Against the M. at the show. The women there were also amazing. Both in the club and afterwords cruzing the strip. The blonde haired girl from "Pacific Blue" walked right by me. she is very hot. Sunset is probably one of the most materialistic places in America. But if you can see it going off on a weekend night, I highly recommend doing so. quite a sight to see.

If you think you are too good for eighties glam rock, just go and check out a show. YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD TIME.

    CINDERELLA in a month!!
