    Matija asked:

    >Hi jammers
    >anyone knows who is the author of the intro in the " Randy Rhoads tribute" ?

I think (off the top of my head) that the dedication written in the liner
notes of Tribute was done by Ozzy's wife, Sharon. I could be wrong and I
don't have the sleeve anymore, but that's what I remember.

    Brad stated:

    >never quite clicked. When James sings Metropolis live the "As a child I
    >thought I could live without pain" portion comes out:
    >
    >"Alcatraz! I thawed out my limbs with a pain, with a taaaaarooooot, alcatraz
    >I pound that tack hard into me, I'm a spear and I'm soooo....
    >AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Hehe, that's hysterical.. You're right, he wasn't great at the shows on
that Japanese run, tho' this was the encore. I posted the mp3 more for the
Nicky Lemmons section than the rest of the performance. I think because of
all the James related discussion lately, when I get around to it, I'm gonna
make some mp3s of shows where James was virtually flawless ("virtually"
because someone will always come up with something to complain about). I
really need to learn to use CoolEdit to improve some of my tapes with iffy
sound quality. I wonder why the most distributed boots are almost always
on bad nights for James... Weird...

IMO James and Dream Theater are 100% inseparable. While it might be
interesting to hear others sing those songs in a live setting, I think I'd
quickly lose interest in DT w/o James. The playing will always be
magnificent, but as a singer myself I've learned alot from James (Tate too,
and occasionally Zak Stevens as well). Take care all...

anybody who is into Tiles care to see the Hugh Syme design for their
upcoming "Presents of Mind" album? I'm not sure if what I have is the
final design, but it's got a desert scene under a "youthanasia" style
sky, above which floats a brain wrapped in a ribbon, with a pretty
    little bow on top......

presents of mind is definitely one of my "most anticipated" discs of the
next year, and Chris Herin, tiles guitarist, e-mailed me that the disc
will be released in Europe and South America in February, and maybe
    March in North America......

going down wild mountain rivers and waterfalls ..... Yep, I'm talking
    about the "Deliverance"! :)
Geez, even that time I LOVED that banjos duet! Later when started
listening music long time I was looking for it but couldn't find it. And
then I caught it on radio half, taped it and now I don't have a clue
what happened with that few years old tape! :(

That was the pathetic introduction of my question: Does anyone have this
song???? I would REALLY LOVE having it in MP3! I just gotta have it!
    Anybody out there wanna help???
Or some URL with it, if it exists? Please, with sugar on top? :)

I'm looking for a whole album. It's something that I got a tape copy of back in Jr. High (10 years ago) and I don't know how old it was even when I got it. Unfortunately, the tape copy I had got ripped off at a party and when I finally got it back, someone had recorded Europe's "The Final Countdown" over the top of it. (Which wasn't too bad itself). Anyway, I have NO idea what the band who did it was called, nor even the name of the style it was written... The only thing I'm sure of is... (listen up Aussies!) it was written by a group of Australian folks. I was the funniest album I've ever heard in my life including such hits as...

"The Lastlegger Waltz" (otherwise known as "Oops, Sorry Mate, Did I Chuck On Your Car?" "Mick, Me Mate the Master Farter" "Stick that Fucking Phone Up Your Fucking Ass" "I Saw Mommy Sucking Santa Claus" (otherwise known as "Hey, Santa, I Want Me Fucking Bike.") "I've Got a Tongue That's Ten Inches Long and I've Learned To Breathe Through Me Ears."

And then some. I'm dead serious these are real songs by a real band and the whole thing's as funny as funny can be. I remember it had several almost big band elements to it. Tuba, sax, horns. Something you might hear from an old style club band. It was all very off the wall and actually rather well done.

If anyone has any input at all on who did this, it would really make a little outdated Music Workstation's Christmas wish come true this year. :)

Thanks! -- KorgX3 misses that stuff dearly.

This is great. I ordered 5 cd boots in June or July, and I've been waiting for the stupid things and now they're bankrupt. I guess this means I'll never see my cds. I should have heeded the warnings about his extreme lateness for delivering. If Bahr is bankrupt from his gaming store (even with the added pay of bootlegs months and months before he even thinks about making them) then how can he afford to make and send the boots he still owes? If Bahr ever re-opens his bootleg business, I will not buy from him, especially considering Scarred and others with their improved turn-around times.

I also need some suggestions. I've been looking into getting stuff from the following bands: Angra, Superior, and Stratovarius. Any suggestions? I already have some stuff of Shadow Gallery, Fates Warning, Symphony X, and even Empty Tremor. Maybe that'll tell you about my tastes. I have heard "Mystery Machine" by Angra, and "Think" and "God's Funeral" from Superior (MP3's). Any help is appreciated. Death Lord

Good Hell! *looks at his callouses and cries* BTW, which is the best SRV album to start off with? I've listened to one of his albums once before (Texas Flood, I think, but it could have been Double Trouble) and (dons asbestos suit) I wasn't too impressed, and was rather apalled by it. Please keep in mind this was probably two years ago when I was still a dork. Er, make that more of a dork. :) Recently I've kind of grown towards listening to that kind of stuff, so I was wanting to try it out again...

You asked for recommendations for Angra, Superior and Stratovarius. I'd say that for Angra, you can't go wrong with Angel's Cry or Holy Land. For Superior, get Behind, and if you're not afraid of a little experimentation, Younique. For Statovarius, I'd actually go with the live CD, Visions Of Europe. It has most of their classic songs on it, and I think they might sound better live than they do in the studio. Just my opinion (and we all know how dangerous that can be)...

Its very legit..I ordered 3 dvds at the start of the sale and have received all three in two different shipments, all for a $1.00 :) I ordered the 2nd day of the sale. I'm sure they are pretty swamped right now with the offer and xmas in general. From alot of posting in alt.video.dvd it sounds like they will backorder for everything (as long as it wasn't listed as out of stock when you purchased), so while it may take awhile to get it you really can't complain for a dollar.

I just wanted to remind people in the New York City area that melodic/power metal favorites HELLOWEEN will be playing their first concert in the US in 10-years tonight Sunday, Dec. 20th at Coney Island High (15 St. Marks Place.....near 8th Street and 2nd Ave.) Doors open at 7:30 and tix are around $12. I'm posting this in the hopes that a lot of people show up so that we can have more foreign bands play in the states and prove to promoters that metal can sell!

    cheers, Carlo
