    Hey everybody!

It's great to be unchained from school finally. I hope all of you college
people out there did better on your finals than I did. =)

I've finalized the tracklisting for "The Rudess Experiment". It's a brand
new boot capturing Jordan Rudess's performance as interim keyboard player
during DT's pre-Awake shows. It's from a soundboard, and the sound quality
is crystal clear. The keys are relatively high in the mix, which is good
because Rudess is what makes this performance so special. A lot of you have
heard the TTT mp3 from awhile back. That's from the same recording I have.

Included is a full-color magazine-quality liner filled with around 15 photos
    taken at the concert.

Everyone's really lucky that gets to go to this! Anyway, I have a
    question --
maybe somebody knows or will find out at the concert. The Helloween page,
    http://www.helloween.com says:

Helloween embark on the European leg of their
World Tour in April as special guests of Iron
Maiden, before heading off to Japan for their own
headlining shows, followed by South Korea. The
band will then return to Europe to play a number
of major festivals then tour South America, South
Africa and the U.S. later in the year. (updated 25
                   Nov)

I suppose this is referring to '98 since they were just in South
America(*sigh)? Is there any chance that Helloween will tour the U.S. any
    further anytime soon? Just
    wishing.

Ok, there were other international concerts after Empire came out and
before PL, that are not in that list that is published in the
Queensr=FFche site. There still aren't as many concerts as in the Waking
Up the World Tour (which was NOT around the same time, so I have no idea
why Adam wanted to compare those - maybe he should have compared WUtWT
to the Promised Land Tour), but there were more, including a concert in
    Brazil in January 92.

Still, all along I was trying to make a point that it's useless to bash
Tate to make LaBrie look like he's a better singer, and that it's stupid
to say that it's OK for LaBrie to sound bad because they have an
extensive tour schedule, and I have been trying to say that this is the
main point of my posts about this singers thread since the beginning,
but you guys will only look at the details and not at the bigger picture
and at what I was trying to say.

Finally, I could give a rat's ass about anybody's opinion about me,
    especially GaZ's.

Hey, if you don't know, like you've been living in a cave or something,
I've got this prog techno industrial weirdness thing called Grendel,
and anyway I'm working with our own Craig aka Tarkus aka "Farquhar" to
add a guitar outro, but in the meantime the holidays and 1999 are coming
up and I haven't released anything in TWO MONTHS. So I put up the pre-solo
version of my latest song, "My Bitch Ran Away With My Best Friend, and
Fuck You If You Think I'm Writing a Country Song About It," and if you're
interested, listen to an .ra or .mp3 at the URL below.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this one too! Their s/t was good, and Fence the Clear was quite excellent!

The otherwordly being known as KorgX3 asked: > BTW, which is the best SRV album to start off with? I've listened to one of > his albums once before (Texas Flood, I think, but it could have been Double > Trouble) and (dons asbestos suit) I wasn't too impressed, and was rather > apalled by it.

No need to don your flame-retardant gear, we're all mature non-flaming adults here........ errrr.........uhhhhhh........... well............. yeah, you might want to put it on! ;)

There's actually no album called Double Trouble. That's the name of the band: "Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble", so you probably did hear Texas Flood.

    You might think about starting with any of the following;

    Greatest Hits, that's self explanatory.

Couldn't Stand the Weather (his 2nd CD, after Texas Flood), this one has some cool stuff including "Cold Shot", "Scuttle Buttin'" and his cover of Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile".

In Step, which includes "House is Rockin'", "Crossfire", and "Tightrope".

The Sky is Crying, which was released after his death, and includes the tracks "The Sky is Crying", "Life By the Drop", and his cover of Jimi's "Little Wing".

The one I probably DON'T recommend is Soul to Soul. I haven't listened to it for awhile, but I remember not liking it as much as any of his other CD's.

Death Lord asked: > I also need some suggestions. I've been looking into getting stuff from > the following bands: Angra, Superior, and Stratovarius.

    Superior. Behind. 'Nuff said.

Hello, Korg said: >BTW, which is the best SRV album to start off with?

Wow... This is a difficult question. If you want the straight, hard-edged blues then you should buy "Couldn't Stand the Weather". But if you want the pop-tinged blues, go with "In Step". I personally enjoy the latter more. DO NOT start with "Soul to Soul" as its his least impressive work (the band was drunk and stoned through most of the recording, to their own admittance). I'd rank the discs as follows (excepting live albums): 1. In Step 2. Sky Is Crying T-3. CStW T-3. Texas Flood 5. Soul To Soul On the same topic, I finally got the Carnegie Hall live disc released last year and can only say WOW! The backing horns really make some of the songs better (especially Dirty Pool) and aren't mixed too far up as they are in so many blues discs. And the solo version of Lenny is simply astounding. A far better live album than "Live Alive". Neil said: >New thread: which gauge guitar strings would be most >suitable for stringing up Mike Bahr.

Definitely .009s. Strong enough to hold his greedy ass up and thin enough to slice the skin as he struggles for his last breath. Yeah, I'm a heartless bastard; kick a man when he's down... Oh, and I'm still hoping to make it to the Toad's Place show, so be sure to avoid the guy in the maroon Fix Tshirt with the Packers hat on. :)

Something you might hear from >an old style club band. It was all very off the wall and actually rather >well done. > >If anyone has any input at all on who did this, it would really make a >little outdated Music Workstation's Christmas wish come true this year. :) > >Thanks! >-- >KorgX3 misses that stuff dearly.
