Hey, could someone e-mail me the info for joining the DTIFC? I don't
have web access here at my house, so I can't go get it from there. I had
printed it out when I was at my dad's house the other day, but it all got
lost somewhere between there and here. Thanks.
For any Tourniquet fans interested in what former members Guy Ritter
(vocals) and Gary Lenaire (guitar) are up to now, they have a new project
called Echo Hollow with an album out called "Diet of Worms" on Geneva
Records. I haven't heard it yet, but I'll be sure and let you all know
about when I do. I did read a positive review of it, and I know they do
a pretty killer version of Sunday Bloody Sunday.
Also, for any Kansas/Kerry Livgren fans that might not know about this,
he has a relatively new album out called "Prime Mover II." Haven't heard
it, but, again, read a positive review. For ordering info on this one,

Hey...
I attended last night's show at Birch Hill Night Club in Old Bridge, NJ, and I
agree wholely with what Chris and Damon said about the crowd. the vast
majority of the crowd was rude, unappreciative, and cranky, just like a bunch
of 5 year olds whining because they didn't get their way. So DT didn't put on
a "regular" show with Pull Me Under and the other harder hitting tunes. I
think EVERYONE was well informed beforehand about the type of show they were
playing; there was even a sign at the door that clearly said that it was a
pseudo-unplugged show, that there would be clips from the video, and that they
would NOT be playing PMU. If you weren't too busy making a fuss about the
length of the video clips, you might have noticed that they played all the
heavier DT staples in the video clips to tide over the older diehards, AS WELL
AS several clips NOT included in the video (so to anyone who bitched because
they could have watched it at home: you're wrong; shut up!). Think about
it... the clips, albeit long, were better than watching the boring
kaleidoscope computer animation, a sucky opening act, or even worse... footage
from the latest Poison tour or... (shudder) Blind Melon!
As for the infantile sit-down protest of the length of the video or the
chanting of "bullshit"... anyone that took part in that inane action should be
ashamed of themselves. I proudly stood among the sitters, and I was appalled
that more people did not remain standing. DT took the time to get together
and put a show on for a five lucky crowds, and this is how you receive them?
There are thousands of fans around the world who would do anything for a
chance to see them in the intimate setting they offered.
I'd like to end this post on an upnote, so I would also like to say that the
show was fantastic as usual, and it was a nice change of pace to see a show
that was a little out of the ordinary. I just wish that other people could
realize how lucky you are to have a band like Dream Theater who cares about
the fans and will come out to play, even when the natives are wild... hell, if
I were in a band, I'd just say the hell with it, and not play for the
ungrateful crowd... but then again, maybe that is why I'm not in Dream
Theater. That, and the fact that I can't play 'Flight Of The Bumblebee' on my
guitar, let alone as fast and clean as John Petrucci does.
All comments/criticisms welcome.

Custom bootleg makers OAN Records latest release is an all
too rare live recording of Symphony X performance in
Ocober of this year, at the la Locomotive, Paris, France.
As SX don't seem to play many live shows, this 2 CD set
is a must for all serious SX fans.
Plus we also get to hear if they can pull some of their
amazing studio recording's, off live.
Quite amazingly (for me) they sound great live, easily
eclipsing the studio counterparts.
Now onto the actual bootleg itself:
The 2 CD set comes superbly packaged with full colour
liner, with pictures from the show in a slimline
clear tray double cd case that could easily pass for
a mass made professionaly made boot. The discs themselves
come complete with full colour labels..
The sound quality, for an audience recording is close
to perfect as you can get, from this source.
For most all the instruments are clear and quite
clear in the mix.
There is little, next to no, annoying audience chatter
or talking to detract from the music.
I don't know how many of this limited edition of 75
sets are left, but get them while you can.
BTW I did pay full price for this boot :)

the double cd version, as it's impossible for me
to obtain here.
I'd gladly re-enburse any expenses with either cash
bootleg cdrs, stuffed kangaroos, etc, etc :)

Well, not much to say other than, WOW what a show. But um, thats standard
for a Dream Theater show. Anyway, they did play Nightmare Cinema, which
came about spontaneously due to Mike frantic "NIGHTMARE CINEMA" cries to the
powers that be. (Thanks mike for listening!)
As to all the jammers I did meet, HI!, and to all those I didn't, where the
hell were you?! Pete, Tempus, Maraya?!?! But to Skadz, Mads, Ms. Mads,
Bogie, and countless others, it was a pleasure!
On to the actual concert. The concert started off lame in a sense that the
stupid people in the audience couldn't get it into their thick skulls that
this wasn't a "normal" concert. They obviously didn't have the intelligence
to read the signs on the doors leading into the hall saying "we will not
play pull me under or anything of that sort." So, until Porntoy yelled at
one person who kept clamoring for TTT, the concert was so-so. But
afterwards, people began to realize that their efforts were futile, and
maybe they should just sit back and relax. Of course during this entire
time, I'm belting out the vocals at the top of my lungs and everyone was
looking at me like I was crazy because one, I knew what the hell they were
playing, and two, I liked it :) Ok, for those of you who do want details as
to what was played, read on.
(In no specific order, and I'm sure some songs are going to get left out)
Cover My Eyes
Speak To Me
The Way It Used To Be
Different Strings
La Villa Strangiato (guitar solo part and "monsters" section)
Cygnus X-1 teaser
Hell's Kitchen
Perfect Strangers (nightmare cinema)
Eve
Hollow Years
Take Away My Pain (demo version)
The Silent Man (electric version)
To Live Forever
Hot For Teacher (derek wouldn't sing it, so they stopped after a little bit)
Good Bye Yellow Brick Road
Hey You

Since I've Been Loving You
O Holy Night
Metropolis II (hehe, just kidding)
Ok, my memory is exhausted as well as my body. Thanks to all those who made
this night memorable! Now I must sleep.

Sweet! I'd heard Nightmare Cinema had broken up. I was afraid I'd never
see them on tour. :)
Now if they'd only get back with Nicky Lemons, things would be O-tay!
Last I heard Nicky was pimpin' his ass off in Nevada. I oughtta go look his
feathery ass up.

Is that the Zeppelin tune???? Wow! No way! That's new! Did they play it some other time ....?
I just can't imagine James singing this song! :) I think this song is one of the most difficult for singing. The animal Robert Plant does an awesome job there, on the studio version.
How did James turn out? :) --

season's greetings all,
well, i don't contribute much, but i feel like i must.
i was at the Birchhill show the other. the guys were great! the show was great. the whole intimate, informal atitude was fantastic. they were there for us. doing different stuff, rare stuff.
but you know what really amazes me?? there these two dipshits standing behind me, and all they were doing was calling Derek names, saying " Derek, you're fucked", "you suck Derek", "Derek's a homo" , "Kevin Moore rules" and things like. then they were complaining about the songs that DT were playing. one of the comments on that subject was like "sure, why not play some more shit from the new album". i presume they were referring to 'Infinity.
these assholes were distracting to me and others around us. if you don't like members of the band and/or their material, what the hell were you doing there? obviously the band liked Derek and his playing enough to make him a member of the band. he's been in the band for what now, 4 years? get over it!! Kevin left of his own freewill (no RUSH referrel there). if Kevin rules so much, why ain't he ripping out album after album? Please no Kevin flames, i like him too, but he's out of the band and hasn't done much since. i bet if Rick Wakeman became the keyboardist for DT, some you would still complain. get over it, stay home and don't ruin the show for the rest of us!
Happy New Year!
