The magna carta web site is nonexistent for some reason. I get the "file not
found" response when ever I tried to check it out. Does anybody know why? Is
it under a new address or something. The CD that DT plays after their shows
that sounds kinda like Sinatra was rumored to be coming out under that label.
    Whats up??

All those interested about the history of 'classical' music, and the
limitations that many composers faced, etc.. Read 'Genesis of a Music'
by Harry Partch. This guy pretty much does away with the Western
musical system, (and equal temperament). And his system makes a lot
more sense once you get the hang of it. For example he uses ratios to
name notes and intervals, which in reality is what they are...

oh, and he made a 43 note scale and his own instruments to play it:)

    enough from me,

    Hello 'Jammers,
Firstly, I've been finding out some great MPegs and I just can't get
enough of them. I was wondering if anyone can point me in he right
direction for any Mpegs by bands like Angra and Vanden Plas and any others
that get a mention on here. I've already been to the Iced Earth website and
I love 'em (<http://www.icedearth.com> in case you were wondering...).
Also, does anyone know about the support band(s) (If any?) for DT's UK
tour, particularly for the Rock City at Nottingham??
And about the Dreamtheater.com website...when I first got 'Net access I
immediately tried this address knowing that most bands use that familiar
format for their websites, so I was a little shocked to find something
totally different. This isn't the first time though. Did any of you see
last years' sci-fi/horror movie 'Event Horizon'??? Well, goto
<http://www.event-horizon.com> and tell me if you're scared by anything you
    see!! ;-)
And finally, people seem to be getting pretty pissed about this 'Mike Bahr
threat' thing don't they? Particularly Clark. Wouldn't you be a little
annoyed if someone threatened you like this, even if you have no fear that
you have a lot of supporters behind you??? Just a thought...

Ok, I feel the need to jump in here. Chris and myself have very similiar
    interests in
music, so if you insult his you also insult mine.

    >Have you ever even heard Dream Theater? If so, how much have you

Yes, actually I have. They lick my ass. They're a group of pathetic Rush
wannabees who would rather look pretty when written down than sound good.
I know of bands who simply whackj off on their guitar who sound better
than the 'calculated wisdom' of DT. Complicated in NO way means you are
automatically good. And if you don't like my opinion, ask Mike, I'm sure
you won't say that HE doesn't know shit about music.

    >heard??? Cuz if you had half a brain you would realizy what a great
    >group of musicians they are, and its too bad that you dont like bands

    'Great'? Hardly.

'Hey, guys, wanna form a band?'
'Sure! We could play music that's hard to do but sounds like shit!'
    'What'll we call ourselves?'
    'Rush?'
    'No, it's taken.'
    'Badly Written Refurbished Rush?'
'No, I mean a title. We already know what we're going to play.'
    'How bout Dream Theatre?'
    'Sounds good.'

    >that aren't satanic and don't wear leather all the time.

Pardon? Look at the bottom of my message, and you will see a BEATLES
quote. The Beatles are about as satanic as a convent of nuns. And does it
really matter if someone writes about satan? It's as good a subject as
any. Tell me, what nice deep subjects do DT like to bitch about?

I know there are a lot of Tori fans on the Jam, so I'll just suck up some
    bandwidth for this.

Tori's new album is called "Confessionings of a Choir Girl" (yes,
Confessionings, it's supposedly not a typo), and it'll be out, well,
sometime soon. Tori's going on tour soon too, performing with a full
backup band. She is starting a European tour in May which will last
through the beginning of July -- BUT, in April and May, she will also be
playing a short club tour in several major US cities, and (as per her
request) tickets will be sold through the ticket offices only. No
Ticketmaster. Which means, basically, that you won't get to see her play
unless you camp out on the sidewalk in front of some club box office for
    like a week.

Also, for any Toriphiles who've been asleep at the pop-culture wheel, she
has a new song called "Siren" on the "Great Expectations" soundtrack.
There are mp3's of it floating around out there on the net if you want to
check it out (it's weird but good).

And there's a ludicrously comprehensive website of Tori news at:

    http://www.aye.net/~mikewhy/toriamos.html

As for the guy who's threatening Mike Bahr -- it's probably that robber guy
who Mike tackled in the record shop.

A better idea, even, would be to stand a grand piano on its end, and break
off all the unnecessary wood bits and hammery things. 88-string bass anyone?

    Er, maybe not.

To anyone equipped, I'm interested in acquiring a boot of DT's 01/04/98
show at The Vanderbilt (NY). Drop me an E-mail if you've got it and are
interested in working out a trade of some sort. Ah, the barter system...
