the Dylan set was the only time he could get exposure. I suppose he
could've taken the Ol' Dirty Bastard approach...

Yup. I played a PGM at the music store here in town one day, and it felt to
me just like the RG I have. The sound was a little different since I put in
different DiMarzzio's, but it truly is a rad guitar. Don't pay too much for
it, though, they sold the one here for only $700 or so. But then if you
find one with a spinning wheel or a loom included for more I wouldn't pass
up the offer. I hear Ibanez loom's are pretty hard to find anymore. I
remember they use to make them by the assload in Korea before the War and
they closed all the sweatshops down. Now they're a collector's item.
Especially if they came factory installed with a DiMarzzio abacus. Ahhh....
What ever happened to the good ol' days?

Why is it that *anyone* who likes a band is allowed to say so, but only those of equal caliber to a musician are allowed to express *their* opinion? I don't have to be a musician to know what kind of music sounds pleasing to my ears, any more than I have to be a chef to know what kind of food I like to eat.

So basically, your whole post sums down to "People should be allowed to bitch about music *I* like, they should only bitch about music that *I*= hate".
Personally, I really haven't listened to enough of Yngwie's music to pass judgement on it, I just hate it when people start complaining about all the complaining. Most of the reviews of "Facing The Animal" that I've seen on the list have been fairly positive, so I'm not really sure what you're getting so upset about anyway.
What pisses me off is that you come across as one of the elitist prog-heads that I really hate - the people who think that if the music isn't technically complex, it isn't worth listening to. To me, those people are just as bad as the people who won't broaden their horizons out from Top-40 pap.

Well, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson were nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Rock Instrumental. Of course, the Chemical Brothers won it. Congrats to whomever it was that predicted this on the list - you predicted an act of jackasserie before it occured!
I don't really know anything about the Chemical Bros, so I could be mistaken. But, doesn't an album actually have to feature real instruments to be considered instrumental? I'm so fucking sick of pop culture and music (<==said VERY loosely)

Hello-
reasons-
1) tickets wil be more expensive and most likely reserve seating so it will be MUCH harder to get up front. I only got to see them once on the fall tour, and everyone else in my group did not want to wait in line to get up front so I was going to go relly early to the concerts over the summer to get close.
2) DT will probably not play for very long.
3) With a ton of non-DT fans it will ruin the atmosphere a bit.
3) Not being a huge fan of either Deep Purple or most anyone else that would join the tour, I would be paying 3 bands to just see 1.
Howeaver on the lighter side I do realize that-
1) It will give DT a lot more exposure.
2) They will most likely make more $$.
So all in all it wont be to bad, after all it is DT, but I was hoping to catch them in a smaller venue again. Oh well it may still work somehow.

My first electric was an Ibanez EX370 that I bought from a guitar shop in 1992. I love the guitar. It's body is a cross between the Ibanez RG series and the Joe Satriani models. With my EX, I replaced the neck (after I accidentally broke the damn thing a few years back) with a Jackson neck, and I've put a Seymour Duncan trembucker pickup in it, and I'm planning on putting an DiMarzio Air Norton (Petrucci uses these) in the neck position. This guitar is almost the ultimate guitar for me, and it sounds and feels awesome. It's my main studio and live guitar, and I have two others to choose from. The only drawback that it has is that it's not a neck-through. Hi, I recently got an Ibanez Rg 450dx black (mirror pickguard) and i was wondering.. if.. theres a reliable way to get a guitar painted.. for example id like to get petrucci's b/w graphic.. or something similar.. How can i go about that?
Next you'll wanna get a couple of new pickups, and what the hell, that neck just don't feel quite right either. Seriously a pro paint job with the graphic is at the very least gonna set you back 200-300. Just buy the guitar you want in the first place. BTW, No I don't work for Ibanez.
