Nope the CD does exist, it was available from Empire Entertainment last year for a ridiculous price of $49.99 USD, that's why I didn't buy it. On their most recent catalogue it was no longer available.

I went to DT's second show for the FII tour in Cleveland Oh... I've been a DT fan for a long time and it was the first concert I've ever been to and I have to say it was the shit!!!! During the intermission between Big Wreck and DT there was some background music playing at it sounded like DT but it was stuff that I have never heard before.. I have all of their CD's (I think) except the Christmas CD and the Hollow Years single.. Does anyone know what it was that I heard???
I have to say that I seen someone earlier post something about the crowd really liking Big Wreck... It wasn't necessarily like that at the show I seen... I think most of the people were just trying to get through them waiting to hear DT... However the majority of the audience were all DT fans and just trying to make Big Wreck feel welcome.. But in my opinion, Big Wreck isn't that great...
Also... I wanted to buy a t-shirt but they weren't selling any at the show.. I don't know if it was because it was only the second show of the tour or because they just didn't have any yet, or because it was a rather small club... But does anyone know where I can order one??
One more thing... I have the Ibanez JP-100 third series guitar, (what can I say I'm a fan), laugh... For those of you that don't know what a JP-100 is, it's the same exact guitar that John Petrucci plays.. It plays beautifully too.. Next time someone sees John Petrucci, ask him if he'd be willing to sign that if I brought it to their next show with me???

Should we really? I don't think so. To me, this is the weakest song Dream Theater has ever put out. It ranks right down there with "Poor Twisted Me" by Metallica, "Problems" by Megadeth, and that song on Steve Vai's Fire Garden where all the people are singing. Every great band needs at least one bad song :) Let's be thankful it's only one bad song, out of 5 albums. Not too shabby!

Since there hasnīt been any "drumtalk" on the jam for a while, I thought I should start some up. :-) Iīd like to know your insights about bassdrum pedals.What brand do you use, how you tension your pedals, etc...I personally use a Pearl p-202 double pedal, and tension the springs very loosely.I canīt understand how someone can play fast doublebass patterns with the springs tensioned tightly.I know Nick Menza of Megadeth does this. Also, are there a lot of drummers here who only use traditional(military)grip?I use it when I play jazz, since it doesnīt require much volume but I find it really difficult to play hard with a traditional grip.Doesnīt Mark Zonder play with a trad.grip?

Hey,
I recently got a cd from a band called NOCET. They're (as Angra) a prog metal band, but IMO a bit superior to Angra. ((I also played some of their songs on Iparty to Mosh and Gaz, ask them about :)) Their harmonies and melodies reminds me old DT (WDADU and I&W), Fates Warning. And the singer is very good too. Their songs are full of time changes, odd signatures, while they have some wild guitars, with some Holdsworth/vai solos. The keyboardist is quite good too, he does not only add atmospheric chords on the music. I was really surprised with this band, because I thought all of our brazilian prog metal bands followed Angra' style, Nocet though, it's not a Heavy metal band with some progressive elements like Angra.I'd even say that they're as good as Enchant, Shadow gallery, imo.

I completely agree that TWIUTB is classic DT. It's my fave FII bside at = the moment. Now if they'd only release WAYN.
I recently received the 2 CD set of the 12/3/97 DT show. It gives me a pretty good idea of what I missed since DT cancelled the SLC show. KJ was really on that night. I suggest that everyone look up Marcel and get this thing. I also got 4 more Billy Mclaughlin CDs. I realize I plug this guy too much but he just kicks too much butt. one of the CDs was him with his band and he's the singer too. He sounds somewhere between Sting and Bob Marley. Kinda similar to Stevey Vai. If anyone plays UO email me!

Just a thought on this... maybe DT sticks to the same set list (for the most part) because they're music is extremely complex and tight, without much room for improv or error. I couldn't possibly imagine having to work up that entire catalog to play, so maybe they work up the songs for the tour, make sure those are precise and perfect, and don't vary much. Just a possibility...
