HEY, I personally don't believe it's right that someone should be able
to make money off of something that is based on an argument over making
money off of something that is based on people playing music and making
money off of it :) I already gave at the office (CD shop) anyways :)

But if there were free drinks :)

    Head,

    >>I'll have to decline on your offer of oral sex. That was directed solely to Mr. Bahr,<<

I think you should stop slandering others with no provocation on this jam.

I know that my response is exactly what you want. You probably love to start little flames on the jam in hopes of making yourself feel more important than you really are. If you need to post more of this drivel to compensate

for your minuscule ego go right ahead. Continue this little charade but please don't include me in it.

    >>who probably brushes his teeth more often than somebody named Korch. <<

That was really mature. Hygiene jokes? Why do you feel the need to revert to kindergarten humor?

    >>Prog content: I raped the guy from Shadow Gallery with an inverted cross tonight.<<

I guess this is another intelligent, funny statement. If the rest of the jam condones this sort of "humor", I would like to know about it! I am making a request to all jammers:

Do you approve of this sort of behavior (i.e. the request for Mr. Bahr to give oral pleasure to "Head")? If you do, I will asked to be removed from the jam.

It is really a shame that there are such personal attacks on the jam. I thought I found a place to discuss DT, but then something like this happens.

    Carol,

    >>This is the United States of America. And being citizens of this great and wonderful country we have the right to freedom of speech.<<

Which is why I stated my opinion. It is rather hypocritical that you defend Ben's (Head) right to his opinion, but yet you try to stifle mine. All I asked for was for Head to make his attacks in a private manner. I signed up to the jam to read about my favorite band, and not to read such drivel. I have l already taken up too much bandwidth discussing this matter.

    >>Everyone has the right to their own opinion and when I want yours I'll give it to you!<<

Once again, you are hypocritical. I also have an opinion, and it is that "I don't find this humorous".

    >>Ben's post was one of the most humorous ones I have read in a long time...and if you can't recognize sarcasm..get a thicker shell!<<

How is this for sarcasm? I think Ben's statement was intelligent and funny and I think that you are correct in defending him.

    To the entire jam,

I am sorry that I had to post so much non-DT content recently (my disagreement with Ben and others), but I finally have a DT question.

Does anyone know when DT will be coming back to the US (particularly Atlanta) for more shows? I have heard that DT would have a second leg of the FII tour, and I was wondering when this might be. I enjoyed this show, and it was a pleasure meeting other jammers (you know who you are). I look forward to doing it again.

OK, now, why don't we give Steve Walsh a break. His voice is definitely not what it used to be, but that was TWENTY STINKIN' YEARS AGO! Even now after 20 years and no smokes he still sounds better than Geoff Tate after ..I don't know...how long has he been smoking, because he sounded fine til a couple years ago.

Every time I hear James LaBrie do the raspy voice I worry what his voice is going to sound like in 10 years. Now, if he's smoking pot...

As long as I'm on the subject <I wasn't going to do this, but what the fuck>, the reason why people are taking it so hard that James smokes pot is because he's the SINGER! Smoking pot is TEN TIMES worse than regular cigarettes because it's unfiltered. The nicotene and tar won't hurt you voice <although they won't help> as much as inhaling HOT SMOKE down your throat. As far as I'm concerned, if JP or DS want to smoke pot, go ahead <although it's not going to help them any either>. But IF James is actually doing it, that's extermely foolish, and it most certainly does make my/our respect for him diminish a little.

I also find it interesting that those jammers who do smoke pot take such pleasure in the mere POSSIBILITY that OFB smokes weed. Are you so insecure about your own delinquency that you must milk some sort of affirmation out of this? Man, get a life.

This might be true of when he was the only vocalist and frontman, but on the last tour, Robby Steinhardt is back in the band, and taking the frontman position. Although they pretty much split the vocals, Steve was in the back behind his keys the whole time. The performance was better with Robbie back, than the previous 4 times I've seen them without him.

Thanks for the post Bernd. It is nice to know that there are bands out there that actually care what we "little" people think. I was listening to behind last night, and although I don't think it is the "most prog" album I have, I do think it is a damn good album. I am happy that Paul Cashman recomended it.

OK :) Next time, I promise :) That's the nice thing about standards, there's so many to choose from!

I just wanted to clarify (not to you, you obviously grok!) that with over 1000* people on this list, that statistical inferences are sketchy at best and are probably best avoided, as people are not required to post on the topic. I think a lot of people (myself included) are avoiding the issue altogether, because of some/all of the following reasons:

    001) It's a heated issue 010) It's a REALLY heated issue now (given the recent busts) 011) People realize that closure in intractible 100) People are simply neutral on the subject 101) People have better things to do 110) Booting Kevin from the band was ok, but booting Derek is right out! 111) Look, I came here for an argument....No you didn't!

Ugh! I absolutely can't stand this argument. It might be a kind rule of thumb to live by while only applying it to amateur events, but in the world of financial gain, this should absolutely NOT be applied. Basically, you're trying to make the argument that only other movie makers have the right to call Water World a shit movie, because they have made better movies. That's crap. What I love about capitalism is the fact that the common man (customer) has the final judgement about a product. If you buy an album and think it sucks, it's ludicrous to think that you need to revise that opinion simply because you haven't created anything better. It's not your job.

Firstly, I think about 15 people have contributed those tabs... Do they all "suck" ? Secondly, I can't read tablatures to save my life, so I take whatever I can get... As far as I know, UACM has just about every DT tab available on the 'Net, which at the very least makes it the best online place to check for DT tabs. Thirdly... if you think you can do *better*, be my guest ! :-) New tablatures are always more than welcome. > I guess what I'm trying to say, if you want tab, "real tab", then > you should just buy the tab books because you know that they'll be > correct..

Does anyone know if I can get into trouble, if I add those tabs to UACM (including copyright and ordering info for the books) ? _____

Oh yeah... I *finally* got the xmas CD in the mail, yesterday ! I'm a bit disappointed though... I mean, they *really* sold out THIS time. :-( The songs are all *way* too short to be prog ! No 10 minute epic tracks... Also, that Mike Portnoy dude is the worst producer *ever*. The album doesn't flow well at all. :-( Also, the songs kinda sound unfinished... but maybe that's just me... What the hell do I know, I've only heard it once so far.

    Kidding :-)

I love the xmas CD. It is not something I would listen to, over and over... But it does help you pay attention to the stuff you probably missed on FII... Well done, Mike ! :-) It reminds me of Marillion's "Making of Brave" 2CD... Except, they included a full demo version of the entire album on disc 2 ! Cool stuff...
