I don't think people are getting pleasure and justification from
this whole spiel. I think a big feeling on this is "Who the
fuck cares", which is where I stand. I see your opinion on
people who smoke pot (of which I am no longer) and see it as

Hello-
Just listened to the fil at the end of ACOS and I dont recognise it directly from a Rush song. Peart does fills of this type a lot and Portnoy is probably just nabbing style points from Neil here, I know I've done it. BTW whenever I see ACOS I cant help but thin of Caress of Steel. Also anyone know where I can find a list of all the singles and b side unreleased songs DT has out?

Don't know very much about Kansas, but from what I know I can easily tell that from the big progressive bands (Yes, Jethro Tull, Gentle Giant, Genesis and ELP), Kansas is obviously the one whose sound is the closest to what DT sounds today (I mean, maybe they had more similarities in the I&W era, but still the sound is similar).
I don't know if that was because Kansas was a "guitar-driven" band or if it's the type of the compositions, but there certainly are many similarities.

I don't know about the XCD (because I still don't have it), but yes, keeping the levels on CDs is a crucial point, mainly when you're dealing with digital recording formats. Some clipped samples are ok (but still not a good practice), but more than a handful consecutive clipped samples give some kind of noise.
Unfortunately, I repeat, I don't know what the noises are on this CD, but the sound of clipped samples is like if something were being "fried".

Some can, some can't. Some can't because they "fool" the common CD players into "thinking" that the CD holds huge amounts of data (say, 2GB). It depends on what king of CD reader you have and what CD you're trying to copy.

Actually this is possible. You only need to spend like $18 on a special chip for your playstation (go to www.masterchips.com and they will send the chip and install instructions). This is because the discs have a special boot sector on them that isn't copied with conventional machines. The chip provides the boot needed for a copied (or self developed) game disc. The chip also allows you to play Japanese and European games (all 3 formats) since there are 3 types of playstations whose games are, for some stupid reason, incompatable.

We're on the same boat. I sent my Money Order some time ago (at sure, it was before XMas), but I don't remember when and I still have received nothing. In this meantime, I completed 4 trades. But let's just wait a bit more. It can be "that seasonal" thing, who knows?

Hi,
I posted info about this maybe a year ago, but there have been lots of new subscribers since then. Off the top of my head I cannot remember the exact details, but I did get my tab books direct from Warner Brothers Publishing, located in Miami, Florida. Just call directory assistance for the number and place an order. You can also get the John Petrucci "Rock Discipline" instructional video from Warner, though you'll pay list price which is steep. Anyway, if you're having trouble finding these things, go straight to the source like I did.

Well, I know that the ACOS Tab should be dead on (or pretty much so), since we spent over a year working on that. If it is not, please email me any corrections. All the notes should be right; the only contention would probably be positions. But most of the positions should be right, as many of the tabbers sat right under Petrucci while he was playing it in concert.
As far as the other tabs are concerned, well, ... some are hit and miss. But why worry over I&W and Awake TABs when you can get the official tab books?!
As far as FII, well the word is that Petrucci is already at work on the TAB for that...though the TAB that Arash (?) has is pretty good.
As far as WDADU, LATM, Live in Tokyo (video), well I mentioned that we could start other TAB projects for those songs as well, but nobody seemed too interested in that at the time.

Wow, I'd be careful about that after Warner threatened to sue me for doing ACOS. It wouldn't hurt to put the ordering info. But I doubt they would ever find out, on the other hand.
