I went through this stage too. :) Many of you misunderstand my
motives for that last argument, but that's over. I make no attempt
to control or suggest the proper direction for the Ytsejam anymore...
but I'm not above criticising things that I think are bullshit.
Minus any name calling and that sort of thing, for the most part. :)
But back to my point... Charlie A). That's Ben... that's the way
Ben is. If that offends you, don't leave the list... because he's
not on it. He posted because that's the way he shows his displeasure
with someone (yes, it's fucked up, and no that's not a defense). I
laughed at it when I saw it, just because it's so ludicrous and
insane... Ben has no point. But he's got worms and filth.

    > Does anyone know when DT will be coming back to the US (particularly
    > Atlanta) for more shows?

I thought there was just a post on this... either way, you can get
almost all relevant news on UACM (http://www.prognosis.com/dream) or
    on Syrinx's page (I think it's http://www.mindspring.com/~syrinx but
he'll correct me if I'm wrong).

Not that this is relevant, here's the answer, as I'm told by people
in the know: There is a modification you can do or have done to your
Playstation, that will allow it to play import games (which are often
much less expensive). This modification also supposedly allows you
to play CDR copies of Playstation games that are not originally
imports. AFAIK, this modification is legal (though I don't own a
    Playstation).

That's entirely false. I don't think I own a tab book that is free
of error. Your only benefit to buying them is that they're bound,
and contain more songs, usually... and they've been edited, so
supposedly they should be more accurate. A good transcriptionist
will do a better job than the book since usually he's doing his work
because he has a desire to have it on paper.
Most common errors I see on books: positions for the tab side, and
oversimplifying tapping and confusingly intricate legato (read:
    Holdsworth).

    > Does anyone know if I can get into trouble, if I add those tabs

You can get into a LOT of trouble. Heheh and since it's on my
domain, let's all stay OUT of trouble. :)

Speaking of Necronomicon (or is it Necromicon?), does ANYONE out there know
where I can find DECENT recordings of JP's stuff on this Sega game? I already
have heard the crappy RA versions - are there any WAV or MP3 versions floating
around out there? Or, if anyone has a decent audio recording of these tracks,
PLEASE e-mail me. Private e-mail is fine.

Thanks! And about the latest installment of the Bahr Wars, seriously, can we
all give it a rest, people? This shit was getting old the LAST time it came
up. Can't we all just get along? :-)

    Brian,

    >>You know, you're allowed to think about things instead of just going by
    whether there's a 'smiley' or not.<<

I do consider myself a thinker, but it is difficult to get a point across
online. You can't see a person's face or hear one's tone of voice in an
e-mail. You say you meant this to be a joke then I will now consider it
one. I also consider myself to be a rather humorous individual, but I
don't find Ben funny. Once again, that is just my opinion, and you don't
    have to agree with it.

    >>It's a common humorous saying.<<

Sorry, but I have never heard it before.

    >> I should that it's ludicrous enough that you should figure out it's a
joke even if you've never heard it. Maybe I'm wrong.<<

Wrong or not, I don't even know why we are discussing this. I do not have
a problem with you. I do have a problem with Ben's idiotic statement that
was placed on the jam. Now that I know that Ben is some 14 or 15 year old
loser (NOTE: not all 15 year olds are losers) who just wants some
attention, I don't feel as offended by it. I think he was just trying to
get a reaction. And by judging from those defending him (you and Carol)
and those who considered his statement a complete waste of time (me and a
    few others) he has succeeded.

    Adam-

I am in 100% agreement with you here. A lot of Jammers have posted about
the high quality of Prism Records products. True. I agree that these of
some of the best boots out there.

What I do disagree with is the fact that the web site leads people to
expect a shipment when it was never shipped. Your mention of Prism Records
email about the discs being shipped weeks ago... I thought it was just me
that the post office has screwed up. I sent a check in for Precious Things
and Darkest of Winters 10 months ago as well. I received PT in the mail 2
days ago. I have yet to receive DOW or the 3 other discs I have paid for
    (all checks have been cashed).

I have read Prism's page regarding the mass of email, but no other
business' customers would accept a ten month delivery time for products.
Especially if the business is telling customers that the products were
    shipped 6 weeks ago.

I have nothing against personal against Mike Bahr, my complaint is with the
business of Prism Records. All of us who look at the web site and expect
discs should get them in a timely manner. I do not care whether Mike makes
money on this or not. In fact, I think it's great that he does, but the
fact remains, ship the discs when you say you have shipped the discs...
Don't put up wrong information and tell people to expect them shortly when
    they are not coming.

OK Jammers, this page http://www.dhpc.com/dtchips/ is still
getting hits, but I'm gonna have to take it down soon before
I get in any real trouble, so grab a last look!

    I have special announcement:

I have decided to venture into the bootlegging business
myself. Now I know you're thinking, "but buster, we already
have plenty of great resources for that! just go to any
    cassete rack in any truckstop!"
but no, this is different! Fresh! New!

For a limited time I will be selling my homemade bootleg
recordings of that famous trio - The Chipmunks!
Yes, thats right, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore LIVE, recorded
at various shoppping mall tours around the country performing
all of your favorite Dream Theater hits Chipmunk style!

The recordings were made with a handheld Sony walkman that
was placed on the stage, which I then jacked into my $39.95
no-name boombox from Kmart and duped over to cassette for
    supreme listening quality!

Each cassette is only $29.95 (hey, i have to pay for this boom box somehow!)
and includes hits like, Under A Glass Acorn, Take the Pine (cones),
Take Away My Fleas, and Alvin Lee. Yes folks, its time to let Alvin,
Simon, and Theodore take you to new hieghts in progressive listening!!

Just visit this web site for ordering information and a *picture*
of them after a recent show:
    http://www.dhpc.com/dtchips/

Although it has been *rumored* that Alvin was "smoked up" at
that particular show while performing the hit single "Burning
    my Bowl", no one can really prove it, and besides;
he sounds great on the bootleg!

    buster :P

huh? Games are 60 bucks each? oh ok...HERE IS WHAT
I would like to know. Since CD burners are on the rise
etc..etc..can you copy a Sony playstation game and use it?
Does it use the same equipment? It seems that the Sony
Playstation CD is alittle 'thicker'. Anyone have any info

from what I hear, PS discs have little spaces where there isn't any data.

I was talking with the E-man (who hardly ever posts anymore to the jam
because he is a whore) about this a few months ago and he suggested that
Mike's CD service would be that much better if he charged us a few extra
bucks for priority mail instead of his usual first class mail. This would
definitely speed things up and perhaps many of the shipped CDs would not
get lost in the mail. Mike sent me a Rush CD at least twice without it
ever coming to my door. He then tried priority and it came within a couple
    of days.

So perhaps this is one reason why there are delays.

I saw them a week before that. Geoff hit most of the high notes in the songs they did. However, his throat was pinched tight all night because it's all he can do to get the notes out. Where he used to SING, now he just screams.

Good for him. High notes are not the be-all, end-all, even in prog and semi-prog music. There's more to a singer than high notes. There's tone. Geoff used to have it. Now he doesn't.

<<<On another subject: is anyone else (besides the list manager) going to see Megadeth in Boston on Friday night? I have lousy tickets, and I might consider getting better ones if anyone is trying to get rid of some.
