Yes, Tori's earlier albums are much better in my opinion.
I find that "Boys for Pele" meanders too much for my taste plus I
just don't like the melodies as well as on earlier albums. "Boys
for Pele" is a more experimental album.
Try "Little Earthquakes" -- that one is my favorite, though
I also like "Under the Pink" very much. The songs on LE tend to have
stronger melody and feature her vocals better. Don't give up on
Tori until you've heard the earlier albums.
