You neglected to mention this, straight from his homepage:

At your option, you may elect to get another boot instead of the clone of the
one you're trading in. For example, if you own a CD writer and you trade in
Animated, you may wish to clone it yourself first so that I will owe you FOUR
CDRs worth of other boots, instead of a clone of Animated and 2 more CDRs.

In addition, straight from Ryan Whitaker's page:

Dream Theater '96 Christmas Fanclub CD - Two Scarred releases (or four boot
reps) for a mint copy of this.
Dream Theater '97 Christmas Fanclub CD - One Scarred release (or two boot
    reps) for a mint copy.

    Favorable, maybe. But 6CDs > 3CDs and 4CDs > 3CDs

And whoever mentioned Matchbox 20 with KoRn, Tool, and 311: whatever. IMO,
the latter 3 groups have talent. The former will hopefully be a one or two-
hit wonder. The jury's still out on Big Wreck, though, as "The Oaf" is
    growing on me.

Folks, I think D-Man does deserve a hand for keeping the FAQ in the shape
it's in for so long. The work he's done with it is mostly unappreciated,
    so -- thanks, D-Man.

Re: Iced Earth being "power metal" as opposed to "progressive metal" --
perhaps. I'm one of those weirdos who thinks that lots of time shifts and
rhythm just scream "progressive". Then again, "power metal" works just
    fine for Iced Earth's stuff.

As for why they moved to Indiana and away from Florida -- yeah, my guess
is because the metal scene in Florida *bites*. (How many metalheads could
you have with the demoralizing influence of the Mouse and of Jimmy Buffett
    so nearby? :) :)

Hello. just cought part of a discussion about smoking bowl after
bowl....then someone said that the person who smoked has a problem that no
one can help them with. I'm sure if Tim Leary or Tom Petty or someone came
on the jam and talked about puffing, no one would tell them that they had a
problem. Pot is pot and someday we'll be goin' to wallgreens to buy the new

Anyone *could*, but they didn't. Discussiong what-if's here won't
help us very much (please, don't take my comments personally: I just think

The line "gather ye rosebuds while ye may" is of course sung by
Dream Theater at the end of the song ("He is my only one [Gather ye
rosebuuuuuuds whiiile ye may]", for instance). But I'm *VERY* sure that
the whisper "carpe diem/seize the day" from the middle of the song (about
8:xx on the official ACoS) is from the movie. Or my name isn't Christopher
    Reidy Merlo. :-)

Tonight, when I get home I'll post the exact times, if you people
want (but I think that everyone has got their ACoS, anyway :-))) ).

Kidding aside, just rent the movie (good movie, teaches us some
interesting things) and you'll see that this snippet is taken from the
movie. I even told you where in the movie it is from. BTW, that's in the
    beginning of the movie.

Counterparts is a bigger break, but it doesn't begin any directional change. Test for Echo is back to the same stuff. Which makes Counterparts sort of like Tormoto (though of the opposite quality).

stone cold SchnippX brought up, and then Al asked, if i had the UaGM tracks. (at least i think it was me it was me they were referring to.) just to set things straight, i have nothing of the sort, i don't think i mentioned i did, but if so, sorry, i surely didn't mean to.

outside of the Dance of Eternity, which i never realized, but i guess i'm pretty lucky to have picked up in a record store a few years back, the only unofficial DT stuff i have are a couple of discs, one from the John Myung b-day concert, the other an older one with LaBrie singing OaMoT along with some other older stuff. other than that, i'm not the boot fanatic that lots of people are. i guess if the turnaround for mike bahr's stuff was quicker, i'd probably be, but i'm not up for the hassles, life's too chaotic right now. i'd never keep track. not to paint mike in a bad light, i've never dealt with him, just... i'm not up for the potential for extreme frustration. all of this CDR stuff, i understand it, but the technology is far beyond me. i mean, i can tape stuff for people, which i have no problem ever doing, but that's about it.

and not only that, but geez, the atmosphere can be pretty hostile. the christmas cd sounds great, but after graham (surprise) chewed up the poor guy who asked to have it dubbed, again, the hassle is pretty extreme. for what it's worth, i would love that, the studio version of eve, you or me (or any of the fii demo stuff, for that matter)... but i have nothing interesting to trade. i mean, i can send tapes, pay for postage, offer my cds, that's about it.

not that i have any interest in selling it, because just about any trade of music for money is a bad thing for me, but what is the going rate of tDoE these days? just curious....

Aha! You should read the homepage with more attention, my friend!! I didn't neglected to mention anything. I'm a fair person (and I won't cite names here, but many people here in this list may attest that I'm not a ripper of something related).

Animated is a double CD, and then Mike Bahr is still offering a 2 CD-Rs for each CD.

I offered as much as I could. And Ryan is also offering two releases for the XCD. BTW, if you have any doubts about my creditability, just ask Ryan. I have traded with him.

My purpose is only to collect some items. I'm not here to rip anyone off. I'm a fan myself and I offer what I can back up. Medias here in Brazil cost more than in the US, BTW. So, making a 2CD trade costs me more than it would cost for a person in the US. Again, I offer only what I can back up, to make sure that it is FAIR.
