okay, I have the time and um...energy to post once again....
    but this time, I'm organized!

    1) I think Derek S. has also had an affair with the President's intern
(hey, it'd make DT really well known really quickly wouldn't it?)
Wait...he can't have an affair unless he's with somebody already, huh?
    Um. Doh!

    2) The Tribute CD: This thing seems to rear it's ugly head every spring
semester or so, don't it? I'm just waiting for Jizzman to post, "I
THOUGHT OF IT FIRST! IT WAS MY IDEA!" (Whatever happened to that cooky
space cadet?), a heated debate about sig files and religion, 30
afterposts telling the two parties involved to shut up, 50 more
afterposts saying they're sick of it, but what they think of the
situation, and a lightbulb joke. Before ya know it, the whole idea will
be a faded dream, with people offering studios for low low rates to
jammers for this great tribute to Our Favorite Band but 3 people trying
to organize it from Phoenix, Thailand, and England. No Tribute for you!

    3) Bahr Wars 2000: Sure, you don't like him making money off of bootleg
copying, sure, if you had the sources and burners you'd do it for
cheaper, and yes...we're all interested in his personal affairs...
but if ya don't like it, stop yer whining and go buy a CD-R, tell ppl to
send you source tapes, go through all of 'em and equalize the shit outta
'em, organize 'em into one nicely presented package, and then look at
yourself in the mirror and go, "Jeez. I wonder if Ptacek will approve
of my activities?" Bahr's just another guy doin' what he likes to do
for money. And he kicks ass in MarioKart. But the day of the Eckie
    will come, my friend...rest assured....

    4) I never make any sense. But you enjoy reading this bullshit
    anyways. It's refreshingly English.

    5) Now that I think about it, maybe Myung is involved in the President's
    affair...?

    6) The reason Kirk Hamster has a labrette hanging from his lip nowadays
is 'cuz Lars needed something to hold onto when he's wrapping Kirk's
tattooed lips around his cock. Metallica's gonna take their creative
talents into a greater, deeper realm of the Db5 to Eb5 chord progression
in their next ska-driven album entitled, "Armegeddon". Cover art is
again by Andre Serrano, with James holding a torched match and mustache
standing fried behind Lars, bent over with a full moon with a cardboard
tube sticking out of it, with Kirk being propelled from the cardboard
    tube.

Is anybody making Dream Theater conversions for Quake and such? I know
everybody has as much free time as I do. I started on one skin file for
Quake, but then I bought Quake II, and well...who wants to play Quake 1
anymore? So as soon as I figgur out just how many segments are in one
character (male and female now....nothin' like ytsedudes v. ytsegals in
competition, eh?) I'll get to work on it. My original idea was to have
a long haired dude w/ sunglasses wearing a black leather DESTROY jacket
w/ the Majesty logo on the back, a GI Joe shirt underneath, black jeans
    and white tennis shoes...carrying a JPM100 for a gun. I'm sure there
are other ideas (A Trinity would be more understandable for a gun
graphic, actually) floatin' around this great vacuous space I call a
head (the one above my shoulders) but hey...if there're already some DT
skins out there, speak the word an' share yer goodies!

What's MY favorite Dream Theater moment? You don't wanna know.

I'm sure I started off this email with something semi-intelligent to
say...but it always sounds better in my head than when I start writing
it out. DT rulez 'n shit.

~Eckie knows what's down g, 'cuz it's all perpendicular to the square,

Yeah, no doubt, the idea is GREAT!!!
And I am sure that there would be tons of people willing to put
    their track onto the CD.
Just one more idea: maybe all the info on this project should be kept
on a separate web-page, huh? So that all the people willing to find out how
it goes could check this at any moment without sending a qustion to the Jam.
Maybe there can also be some s/clips there, what doyou think?
I am sure that I am not the best webmaster out there, but if you like the
idea, I can start such a page... Well, the problem is that I have only
little space left on my homepage, but still...
Anyways, I'd be glad if this idea is in any way useful...
If you think so - mail me...

Guys! You won't beLIEVE what just happened to me! I was just sitting here waisting my life away reading ytsejam email when...

I heard the familiar sound of caribou droppings pelting my house's roof and the wild vibrato of a jolly buff prog singer screaming, "It doesn't sound anything like "Elastic Rubber Nads"!"

"JAMES FUCKIN' LABRIE!" I shouted, and I grabbed my Ibanez and hopped into his sleigh, pushing the rotted corpse of a Spice Girl out of the seat.

    Me: Sam Goody again?

James: No. Ever since that whole "album" thing with Kevin Shirley and Desmond, we've decided that Sam Goody isn't the best place to be right NOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!! (Hi F#)

Me: Why not? It's in the top 20 charts at half of the record stores I walk into nowadays, yet people still don't know who the fuck you are? How could you be afraid of mad mobs of people invading your personal space asking for autographs and what not?

James: Oh, there's no problem THEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRE (C, I think...I'm tonedeaf, so I'm just guessing). It's just that ever since we did that very angry jam down there last year, well, the owner wasn't too pleased that his roof was blown off by John's Mesas and Portnoy beat the shit out of his cat.

Me: Why did Mike kill a cat?

James: I dunno. He had a fish in his rig, and he still wanted a different percussion sound. He definitely found one. But we're going to a place that has never, and ever will hear of Dream Theater....

    Me: Elektra Records?

    James: You gOOOOOOOOOOt it!

So we arrive there and the band's already jammin' with their 2 dollar gear (John only brought one Tri-Axis this time).

Me: Hey guys! How's it hangin'? You bitches ditched Arizona again, what's the deal?

Mike: Sorry man, our cheeseball key player went windsurfing in San Diego, flipped out and cut his nads open.

Derek: Yeah man. The docs repaired it and the scar doesn't show, it's so wrinkled down there anyways...you don't think chicks will notice it, would you? Anyways, like, it was a big nad and

JP: they diagnosed him with testicular cancer and took out his other nad.

Derek: Yeah, but I didn't need that one...this nad is just so big...

Me: Well, you know those keyboards. They're worse than cellular phones.

Derek: But...I still have a whole lot of nad.

JP: Anyways, we were looking for this whole balls and chunk tone on our album and what does Kevin Shirley do? He told his damn flunkee to turn the tone knobs all the way down on all of my guitars! What an ass!

Me: Wait a sec...I thought you guys enjoyed working with Shirley?

Mike: Well, I like that whole congo beat drum thing goin' in TAMP, but after I caught John (Myung) watching Mad About You one night...I've been wondering if a double bass rythm figure would work instead....

JP: Hey, what did the suit tell you about double bass?

Mike: Oh yeah. "It's so 80's. Nobody uses it anymore, so neither will we." I didn't like that guy.

James: That was Kevin who said that. (Mike: Oh yeah!)

Me: So, you guys picked me up to produce your next album?

Mike: Um. No. We're still afraid that that fro of yours is gonna cause some static-electro accident if you get too close to the mixing board. We picked your fuckin' ass up to tell you to tell the other jammers that we don't want any more tribute albums!

    Me: But...our previous attempts failed...?

JP: Then who the hell is this Arash dude who keeps sending us these tapes?

    Me: Um....

Myung: Yeah. I mean, the whole thing is absurd. Nobody can play like us, let's face it. We're the best. You're Chasing Dream Theater.

[the whole band looks at Myung in curiosity]

James: What the FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK? Mike: Did he just fuckin' talk?! JP: Whoa...where were you when we needed backup vocals?! Derek: Hey, that wasn't a crack at my nads, was it?

Myung: Dudes, you couldn't fit half of my vocal tone in the grand canyon if you wanted to. Here's your dilemma, Eckie mah man. You fans want to show us dedication beyond dedication, but it's in a way that's near obsessive psychoticism, yo? I 'member the last time all you cats tried making a tribute

    Me: And I you,

Myung: But you can't call it a tribute to a band that's still looking for its fanbase. We're so expansive with our music, you might as well try and cover every genre into a 5 minute song and then share solos with the 10000 other jammers for an outrageous amount of time. While we appreciate your support, it's just too ridiculous. We created the Ytsejam. We're the only ones who can tweak it.

Me: You're not a Kevin Smith fan, are you?

Myung: Uh, who? That's not an issue, you need to share this information with the others. Go on now, and spread the word of prog.

And with three clicks of my heels and a large purple hot air balloon with a SPICE GIRLS BLOW ensigna on it, I landed in the cool dusty realm of Phoenix once again, posting insane dribble into my computer. And here we are.

    Fellow jammers,

I wonder if any of you round the globe can help me? Does anyone, anywhere know of a games machine called a "Creation". It is only a cheapo one but i've just come back from a long holiday in South America back to England and whilst over there my new wife (who is South American) and I went to an island called San Andres. It may be a console that just exists in South America but with the name of Creation I'm not really sure. We bought the "Creation" console there for her family (she did all the talking cos her Spanish is better than mine!). Anyway she was under the misaprehension that there was a cartridge enclosed with the machine. There wasnt. So my in-laws have a games machine with no games! If anyone knows anything more about this machine and could maybe point me in the direction of anyone (on the Web or not) who might sell cartidges for this machine I would be very grateful. BTW it had a light-gun thingy with it if that might stir anyones memory.

Pleas e-mail me PRIVATELY (don't want to clutter the 'jam anymore) at MAFIT@MSN.COM.

    Thanks for your time.

DTC : I saw a record store here in England advertising the Hollow Years CD (but only as an import). I phoned up and asked if they had any. She told me to phone back in about a week but she said they had had more enquiries about that CD than virtually anything else. Does anyone know if EastWest are gonna release HY in England? If they speculate a bit of money on this song I could see it making the top 10 over her (plus EW would make lots of money - which is their prime concern!) BTW I have been trying to convert my wife to DT and she is really into most of FII now. Which song does she like best and ignited her interest?? Hollow Years. Quote : "This song is special". To DT band members : Keep writing beautiful "pussy" songs aswell as all the other types you do!

FII has now overtaken I&W as my fav. DT CD now. Can't wait to see them hopefully in April.

    See ya, Mark.

This is JL's buddy and the guitar player from Winter Rose.

I LOVE the Winter Rose album, btw. You just have to keep in mind that it IS from the 80's. :) James actually sings the phrase "sex machine" as one point. hehe

Speaking of James singing -- this album is by far, James at his best. He's up in that high, Innocence Faded range for a majority of the album. If you're a big fan of James' voice, especially the I&W's-era stuff, you really owe it to yourself to hear him belting out these 80's rock/metal tunes.

The prog-metal sampler cd that comes with some version of the WR album is also a nice bonus. It has Enchant, Sym X, Vanden Plas, Tiles, Mindfeed and Eldritch.
