If it isnt, just do what I do. Get a 2 CD case taht fits a single slot (some CD stores
sell them, if not, just use one from a double CD you're not currently listening to :-)
take the backing behind the CD, then take the bookelt from inside. Put the backing
of the album in the back, and the booklet in the front (like normal CDs) and thats it.
Thats what I did with the remastered Pink Floyd the Wall CD I bought. Now its
in a less cumbersome case while still retaining the conveinience of alphabetically
sorted CDs :)

To the fellow who just bought himself a Brian Moore: all the power to you.
If you love it, fuck the price. At least you didn't buy it for some
artist's name, you bought it for the luthier's name. It really offends me
to see that Gibson is making signature model Les Pauls (Jimmy Page, Ace
Frehley). Wasn't the whole point that they were Les Paul's guitar? Then
again, my dream guitar is my Ibanez JS6000, formerly known as the Radius
model <g>. Take heart in the fact that not only are you getting your dream
guitar, but that its being custom made FOR YOU.
And thanks to the guy who posted the link to one of the original Washburn
N4s. But I'm curious. It says its in new condition, but the pickups are
different from what I remember seeing on other N4s. Is this just me? I
don't remember seeing a blade pickup in the bridge.
So now I must move on to the next guitar territory to be conquered. I have
my amp of choice (for my price range), my axe of choice, now I have to save
up for that Replifex! I can feel the drool oozing from the corner of my
mouth...
Stodgers is a long way from guitar heaven

What's up with last Wednesday's re-broadcast of the DT show over
liveconcerts.com? I had an awesome feed with awesome sound which I was
recording...then the bastards stop the transmission after LitS! I was hoping
to get the whole show...not just half!!! I missed the original broadcast
back in May...was that also 1/2 of the show back then? Or did they decide to
cut this short for no particular reason? Just curious.....

I've never heard of this before, though it may be true. Can anyone
confirm this ? (asked out loud to the crowd) I request that you
point me specifically to where on Mr. Bahr's site this is stated, because
I can't find it. Further, he knows my mailing address is in the USA. We
use standard sized CD cases over here. That's okay, I can clip it out
myself. "Some assembly required" :)
And while I'm at it, I guess I'll head out to the store and pick up a 2CD
jewel box.

Well this makes sense, but again, I can't find it on his site. I've read
so far as the front page with all the big news about the mail thefts and
Melissa's supposed rejoin with the "company" (you could never tell because
she doesn't reply to email either) and the FAQ. I don't see this "in
anticipation of larger-capacity media" thingy. The closest thing I've
found is where it says in the FAQ "[all] discs are gapless" without an
explanation why.
I wonder if the new live DT album will have abrupt edits between the two
discs in anticipation of larger-capapcity media in the future. Somehow I
doubt that.
However, this does not address the issue of my comment about "simple
signal processing" in my previous post. It would be a snap to clean up all
those nasty clicks and pops in the recording. It's no big deal, but the
message it sends to me is that no pride is taken in the craftmanship of
his work... at least not anymore.

Here's something else that comes to mind. Mike recently discontinued
selling CDR's of Kevin Moore's "Music Meant To Be Heard" because "the
material is now available on the Chromakey album." Alright. Let's wander
over to Mike's list of Currently Available Unauthorized CD's located at
http://www.goodnet.com/~durnik/master.html and we see:
Dream Theater "Instrumental II".
Isn't this a collection of demos that are now available legitimately,
exactly the same way the MMTBH demos are ? So why discontinue one and not
the other ? Is this hypocrisy, or am I misunderstanding something ?

Wow - if this is at all true, no wonder I'm such a fucking geek! :) (I
can't stand Star Trek though... I just don't get what's good about that
show at all, same with the X-Files, Babylon-5, etc.)
I won't say I was brought up on classical music, but I certainly had a
lot of exposure to it. I'd thought of this before, but didn't realize
it might actually be true. I don't think my parents really had much
influence on my musical tastes though. Aside from the classical stuff,
there's nothing they listen to that I can stand.
(And believe it or not my dad started listening to country a few years
ago... he still only listens to it in his car, but you can imagine the
shock when I found out! I thought about changing my last name, or even
killing myself! :) )

Hey all
I introduced my son to DT when he was 6. He grew to really get into the
music, howling along to CiaW and IF at the top of his lungs! Then he
asked me to play Operation Mindcrime one day. That has now become his #1
request. I try to limit his exposure due to the rather dark subject
matter (he is 10 now, and the questions never stop!) Iron Maiden soon
followed, along with Rush and many of the other classics. On his own he
has discovered the Spice Girls and much of the other pop currently out
(Matchbox 20, Ben Folds 5, etc.) I don't own ANY of this stuff. He gets
turned on to it by other kids at school.
My point is that we can introduce our kids to any kind of music, and if it
is of an enduring quality (DT, QR, Rush, etc) it will likely become part
of their own music libraries as they get older. We've ALL got some flash
in the pan DOGS in our collections, which I feel helps to contrast against
the music that truly moves us. What we like may be subjective, but it is
useful to have a point of reference from what we DON'T like.
On music and intelligence: my son has been reading well beyond his grade
level from the start.
His current top request? LTE!

First of all, I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Tetsu Hamanaka! I am staying Honolulu, but originally coming
from Hiroshima, Japan. After I graduated from Leeward Community College

It is interesting to see people's taste on every subject.
I usually make my comments on Shadow Gallery, e-prog, Perpetual Motion
(not recently, but I will come back soon because I had so many e-mails
friends....). Next time, I am going to put my favorite bands. But let me
say something about X-Japan....

As Matt said about changing the name, X-Japan was kind of very popular
heavy metal band. It is very rare because most Japanese listeners think
Japanese Heavy Metal band is very stupid (no IQ). That is pretty sad,
but Japanese loyal HR/HM fans usually care American/European bands,such
as Metallica, Megadeth, Yngwie Malmsteen, Mr.Big, Helloween, and of
course, Dream Theater. Sadly, such fans do not like X-Japan. X-Japan was
very popular, but their fans are almost Girls and some hardcore fans.
But most HR/HM listeners hated X-Japan. In fact, I did not like their
looking before. Their looking is kind of punkish and crazy looking and
outfit. However, after they changed the name, their music is also
polished along with their hard rock looking. Still they made up too much
like Poison and Warrant, nevertheless, they started having their
original sounding. Well, X-Japan is definately influenced by Melodic
Speed Metal like Helloween along with Loudness, Kiss, and so on IMO. And
then They feature lots of Piano playing such as Longing, Forever Love,
and Endless Rain (it really sonds like Beatles and Savatage...)

I think your discography sounds fine. I guess they had one more earlier
album, but it sounds very horrible. Still they were not professional
band..... But after they released Kurenai (Fire), they got polished up.
Esp. I was amazed when I listened to Blue Blood....
Later, they got contract with Atlantic Record (It is amazing since
Loudness and EZO....)
If you like Dahlia, you might like Rusty Nail. Industial sounding meets
Modern Speed Metal.
I think some people already know that Hide commited suicide. Hide made
his new project called Zelchi (featuing some members from Killing Joke,
Prong, and so on). After X-Japan broke up, Hide is the only member who
got No.1 hit Rocket Dive (that is single). Before he died he released
two singles, then all went to No.1. I do not like other singles too
much, it reminds me of Stabbing Westward and Gravity Kills. However,
Rocket Dive is my favorite song. May he rest in Peace, Hide.
If someone is curious about X-Japan, I have a Japanese rock magazine
which features X-japan, so I can trade for something.
I like all kinds of great and cool music. Such as, Progressive music,
HR/HM, Jazz, Classical Music, and so on. Please keep in touch.

A bit of advice to you guys, never go without checking ytse-mail for over

A) What's a Taurus pedal? As sad as it is, my band's setlist is half
Rush and I havn't a clue what there are. I know Liefson and Peart aren't
stepping on a bull's ass, so can someone enlighten me?
B) Input wanted: I'm planning on selling my RG550 and buying a Jackson
KE-2 (the one like Friedman's only nicer?) Think $1395 is a decent price?

C) Yes, there is DTC! In the band photos on ACOS, Mike Portnoy has a
