A few months ago, I read somewhere that Jason Becker was doing better,
that he could move his pectoral muscles and that things were improving
in general. I immediately tried to confirm this by mailing to Pat,
Jason's manager. She used to be reachable at jason@guitarists.com, but
that now bounces. Can someone assist me? I am dying to know if things
are really looking up for poor Jason.

Oh yeah, those of you who have not in their possession "Perspective" by
Jason Becker should flail themselves, cut off their testicles and then
run out to the shop and buy *two* copies to do penance! :-)

One good thing about bootlegs is it is the real thing. There are no overdubs and rarely any editing. I'm sure most of you know the history of Kiss Alive II, where some songs weren't actually ever done live and how the corwd noise is from a Monday Night Football game. With bootlegs, mistakes by the band aren't fixed. Its the real deal. With a legitimate live release, you don't know if it is 100% the way it was recorded. Also a lot of times when bands put out a live album, all the songs aren't always from the same show. So a lot of times bootlegs offer a real experience of the show.

As for Billy Williams, didn't he hit like 3-400 homers and is or was a borderline hall of famer for a long time? Did he ever make the HOF?

Just a quick question. Did anyone see Royal Hunt on the tour for the album "Paradox" ? I understand that they played the album in its entirety, then came out again with other tracks. If anyone saw them, I would appreciate it greatly if you could give me a review or an overview the concert. Thanks.

Just who do you think you are, buddy? HOW YOU LIKE DEM BANANAS?!

Mike Portnoy's reading this wondering where all the cool talk about SYMPHONY-X PLAYING POWERMAD IN BALTIMORE THIS AUGUST is, or Derek's probably wondering if we still think he's gayer than a hootenanny (personally, I wanna know where the dude shops. Women in prog rock? WOMEN IN PROG ROCK?! THERE'S NO CRYING IN PROG ROCK! The tits get in the way!

How does Micheal Romeo do it then, you ask? Man boobs are quite an interesting thing, you see, they are not as sensitive as wimmin boobs so you can really shove the guitar under there, and even use your right or left breast to mute the strings for them really wild rythm figures. Jon Oliva of Savatage pioneered the man boob guitar technique but nobody could ever figure out what he was doing...we all looked at his hands, and he's always flashing those weird gang signs during a performance just to throw us off guard. That, and he was a lefty.

Lisa Marie retorted like she had common sense or something, and then Coldfire popped out of the shadows, fast like ninja:

Three words: YOU GO LISA! /me hi5z Lisa, z-snaps and walks off....

Who do you think you are? A self-righteous black woman on the Jerry Springer show working full time at a the Great Alaskan Bush Company? I always wanted to do a round house kick and see how far I could make the bitch's head sway...YA BABY! GIT BACK IN THE KITCHEN!!!

Actually, any female that threatens the male ego is considered a bitch! (Just kidding, I can hardly stand the non-thinking yes-bimbo's that our society seems to doddle over.) In reality I think some of the male jammers can be bitchier than I've EVER seen the female jammers.

This is not a gender issue... I'd have the same response to a person of the male persuasion. It's about common sense. When subscribing to a list (or resubscribing, whatever) you can't make your first post a complaint without expecting to get some shit for it. Simple as that.

Of course, some Sava fans prefer both The Wake of Magellan and Street over DWD - but then thats the beauty of this band isn't it? >as about the rest..dontdontdont even think of buying fight for the >rock..even savatage themselves call it "fight for the shit" :)

No arguments here - although I still bought it as I'm a 'completist' , and btw do catch myself 'enjoying' it from time to time. Definately their weakest effort though,

    >dungeons i dont have, nor handful of rain, but they arent too good..at least >so i've heard from the most dedicated Sava-fans. >hm did i forget anything..streets is great too but i'm afraid u already >have to buy many more :)

Dungeons I love (early savatage not to far removed from what I hear on Sirens), and Handful Of Rain - well, I was overjoyed when I got this - one of my favourite ever Savatage albums , and I consider myself a dedicated fan. O' course, again, that's the beauty of this Band- all thier albums are great (except maybe one), and different people tend to find 'favourites' from different points in Savahistory. No one is quick another to toss the word "bitch" out in here, but nice of you to do so! Just keep in mind that you can never *really* know who is what sex on the internet. Just ask Bafu... By the way, can anyone refer me to an internet site that has decent prices on effect systems. Musician's Friend has yet to come down on the Boss GX-700, and I did find one place, Musician's Store, that has a great price, thus I question the sincerity of their offer.

This is a good thing? I like my testicles to stay where they are. IMHO when Tate sings high, screechy stuff he sounds the same as other metal singers singing high, screechy stuff. It's the lower, more somber parts where the quality and tone of his voice really stand out.

Hear in the Now Frontier was worthless crap, I think we can all agree on that. The Promised Land on the other hand was not. There seems to be kind of a love/hate split on this album with QR fans. I love it. It's the best album they've ever done. The production on that album is the best I've ever heard from anybody. Tate's parts on Promised Land were awesome. I thought Empire was one of his better albums as well. Of course it's not mentioned here, as QR fans are generally embarrassed that Queensryche had a commercially successful album, meanwhile all the DT fans are upset because DT hasn't had one. Rage for Order was really a mixed bag. Some nice guitar parts and arrangements, but generally not the best vocal parts.
