has anyone, perchance, come across a video for either of the recent NY
area shows (May 7th @ Birch Hell or May 8th @ Irving Plaza)?

if you have either (or both) of these and would like to make a copy, i
would be willing to pay quite well (i also have quite a few other
bootleg videos you might be interested in (primarily DT and QR)...)

No, we don't. This comes up (like the lightbulb thing and the Bahr thing)
about every four months or so. They got the domain first. They're entitled
    to it.

Gabbo, is this in the FAQ yet? Gabbo, do we *have* an FAQ update yet? :)

If you attended the shows here, you must have heard what James
LaBrie said, that they would come back here during the FII Tour. So, I ask
MP: are you planning touring places other than US and Europe? If not, then
please don't announce that you will be returning, because you *know* your
fans will be waiting for some shows.

I was wondering some time ago: I know that music cd s are something "material"......but what it contains (music), is oftentimes very "spiritual".....therefore, i kinda think that most of the cds in my collection (or every cd out there for that matter) are "spiritual" goods, instead of material things. I dont know if i explained myself clearly on this one....but what i meant is that i dont think that some material things (cd s in this case), are viewed that way by some people....i must be a freak or something! :) What do you jammers think about this?

I didn't remember submitting my name on there ever, so I clicked on my name and down scrolled a description of me saying that I'm just about to start college and that I inhabit the #ytsejam channel 24 hours a day. You know, Ive always heard that there are two certainties in this world. Death and taxes. Well, I formally request that the age-old proverb be changed to "There are _three_ certainties in this world. Death, taxes, and in each of his posts to the Ytsejam, a mention from Damon about his blindnes."

I mean no disrespect. But to me you are just begging for sympathy and/or attention. Being blind would suck, Im not saying it wouldnt. But you have been on the list for a long time. Possibly longer than I. It just isnt necessary for you to tell us every 2nd or 3rd message that you lack the ability to see. Everyone knows that you are blind. You dont need to keep reminding us. Should I mention that I have bad gas in every message I ever send to the jam? : )

I gotta get going. Night everyone, time to start listening to some Yes and ELP.

Well, this weekend was a great weekend for music for me, so time to post a few reviews.

First off, I'll start with Open All Night Record's Savatage The Age of Discovery and DT Static Progress. First off, with both of them, packaging is amazing, high quality glossy color inserts and even glossy CD labels. I must say, I am impressed by those, even though they typoed John Muyng instead of Myung, but other than that, very cool. Static Progress is very good sounding, one of the better boots from the Touring Into Infinity tour that I have heard, especially cool because it has Trial of Tears and Speak To Me on it, neither of which did I see live. The only _slight_ disappointment is that the bonus tracks from this CD appear to be from the Japanese Awake PPV show, which I already have on CD, so I would have liked to see something different there, but can't have it all, I guiess... :) Now, onto Savatage Age of Discovery. Again, this is very good sounding (listening right now, would call it A (or A+) quality. The show was very cool, although no Paragons of Innocense, but again, can't have it all, especially since they only started this on the US lef of the tour. Sound is again very high, at least an A. The bonus tracks for this one are also from a Japanese show, this time, from the Dead Winter Dead tour, with 4 tracks from DWD (something suprisingly missing from this tour). Anyway, very cool show, glad to finally have a Savatage show to add to my collection.

This takes me to some ***SPOILERS*** for the Savatage show at Birch Hell (was down in NY for the weekend for something else, when I find out from Wisha/Rachel that Savatage was in NJ that weekend). Got to the show in time for the first of 3 opening acts. The first 2 were local, much like the first one at Danbury and were pretty interesting. Both were 80's metal bands, the second doing a few cover tunes, including Queen of The Ryche. Wasn't familiar w/ the rest of them b/c I have wasn't a big 80's metal fan... The touring act, Ant???crusis somethign or other again sucked, IMO. Poor match, them being a rap-metal band, which someone compared to Korn (wouldn't know, don't listen to them) who were almost booed off the stage.

Savatage finally came on at like midnight, and put on an amazing 2 hour show. I'm not completly familiar w/ Savatage material before DWD, but had some cool stuff I recognized. Jon and Zach both sang alot, and they both alternated all throughout Paragons of Innocense, very cool sounding, IMO, better than Jon alone as was done in Danbury.

The next set of CDs that I got this weekend were the rest of the Spock's Beard collection from Jessie/Lisa Marie... I got a copy of Kindness of Strangers frokm CDNow, and immediatly decided I needed the rest of the collection. All of them are very good. Have not listened to them too much (lots of new CDs, after all), but am impressed. For any prog _ROCK_ fan, these are a must have, as long as your remember its prog rock, not prog metal, so it is much lighter than something like DT, Savatage, or the like.

Hey all.. Well, I have to tell you.. it's been a while since I've been able to post, but I read quickly over the jam, and saw the "DT last tour" post, and nearly shit myself!! But, thank god (after a couple of beers) I calmed down and saw the follow up post telling us that "it ain't so" !!! Thank you god! I was ready to jump in front of moving traffic (not really, but I'm searching for a good adjective) Anyways, so this doesn't seem like a totally useless post, I wanted to send my music review of a "new" album. Well actually, an album that has been out since the fall, but I haven't had the opportunity to write about it: Sevendust. This band from Atlanta ROCKS!! Definately a step up in the music world. I must say that it is very musically talented, grooves and is dark and heavy. I bought tickets to Ozzfest just for the sole reason of seeing Sevendust. The other bands are an added bonus! Well, it's nice to see everyone again. If any of you are going to the DT show in August in Portland Maine, drop me an e mail and I'll try to find you at the concert!! Later, J

I'll try to be brief concerning the NEW Bahr/Skadz war because the whole Bahr war is just getting stupid now. Mike Bahr - you totally overlooked the POSITIVES for you in Skadz's new commandment concerning you.

Skadz told the "buying public" to no longer post to the ytsejam concerning Bahr CDs. You should be happy. The reason people are posting to the jam is because they are using the power of a public forum to get you attention. Everytime they use this public forum, I am sure 10 or new jammers contemplating buying a Bahr CD do not do so because of the public address to you. With this public forum becoming off limits to such posts, you are the beneficiary.

I know this to be true because when I found the ytsejam in Feb 98 - I also found Prism Records. I was about to buy some Bahr CDs until I read the Bahr War jams. So, THIS NEW COMMANDMENT IS A GOOD THING FOR YOU.

I would suggest you just DEAL WITH IT and catch up your backlog. If the complaints are bothering you, then take away their reason to complain by catching up the backlog.

Basically, what song is either Moore/Sherinian at his best? Frankly I don't have a clue, so any opinions would be nice. Thanks :)
