Does this CD have a song called "Sympathy" that is mostly
acoustic? If so, I know what you're talking about. That's not
really a good example of what Marillion sounds like. Marillion has
two phases, one with a vocalist called Fish (which I prefer) and
one with a vocalist named Steve Hogarth. "Sympathy" is sung by
Steve Hogarth and is more acoustic than most Marillion.
The earlier Marillion (with Fish as vocalist) has a bit
more of an agressive style. I'd recommend trying "Clutching at
Straws" or "Misplaced Childhood".
Do not expect hard rock or metal. Marillion does not have
that kind of sound. But, they are a good progressive band and are
worth trying.
Good luck.
Steve
