Are you smoking some kind of laced crack??? :) This has in or near my
player since the day I got it. The first song is so well written. The
album is just so damn catchy, but its a good kind of catchy; the kind of
catchy catchy music you want to keep going back to...that you never get
tired of. All of the songs have hooks galore that just drag me in. I love
this album, up there in my top 15 (with Angra, Superior, DT of course,
Echolyn, Rush, etc...) Beware of Darkness is a great album too, as well as
The Light. Anyone into Echolyn should check this band out. I was wearing
my "As The World" Echolyn CD down until I came across the awesomeness that
is SB. GET THEM ALL.

Could it be possibly that Fit Fare Slim Slam, Green Lantern, Clicking Stick
Boy, and Yellow Lantern got together and decided to wash this topic over the
jam all at once? Naw... ;)

"Piddly"? Average of 100 per day is piddly? Man, you must run one large
business if you get more than that! ;) Consider that I receive (now,
during the slow season) around seven to nine orders per day in the mail,
average. It all adds up about right when you run the numbers. The
average customer sends me five e-mails for even a problem-free order:
the request for info, the request for availability, the confirmation
that she/he's sending the order, the confirmation of receipt, and the
feedback and constructive criticism. Add in incidentals and questions
about international mail and shipping, and then there are maybe 25 to 30
per day that I don't get to... most of them being "where's my disc" from
the same dozen people each day. (smile/wink)

They call me Fireman Mike. :) But both you and Kevin were right about
one thing, I was doing it BADLY. I realize that now. Chris Oates
e-mailed me with a suggestion on how I should do it much more
professionally, and he was right. I'd like to extend a sincere apology
to anyone in this forum that I may have upset by my harsh statements.
And rather than jumping guns-a-blazing in the future, I will attempt to
be much less apopleptic about it.

Fortunately, I now have two. Melissa's back. (the new update on my page
goes into more on this). Three would be AWESOME, but I'd have to
increase prices to cover it, and I just now lowered 'em. :)
Anyway, a last note on Prism for a while (really this time!) I have
posted a new update to my page containing a complete listing of ALL
remaining unfulfilled orders (and there are less than you might think...
I have twice as many blanks here right now as I'll need to fulfill every
single one, and then it's back to fast Mike again), plus news on the new
price cuts, and more on Metallica, Rush, and about Xanadu Records
(Another fans-for-fans CDR maker; they kick ass) and more.
Now, as to DT content. We now know that we're going to get at least a
double CD and possibly also a video from these recent European shows
that were recorded by Kev Shirley for the band. That should pretty
effectively eliminate the NEED for any bootlegs of the rest of the FII
tour, assuming the right songs get selected for them. I predict they
will use as little as possible that was already on LATM and LIT in order
to cram as much "newer" stuff on as possible. This is optimal. I liked
the new Metropolis too but they need to give the non-netter and
non-boot-collector a good live album too, or else the thing sells poorly
at best. Other than a tip of the hat to Mike Portnoy for his part in
actually making this live album/video/whatever happen, there's not much
left for each of us to do but wait for the release date with cash in
pocket. In the meantime I wonder if we can figure out something to do
about the DT/ELP/DP tour. Some way of showing up and, I dunno, all doing
the same crowd-feedback during the songs so that the non-fans will see
how much we dig DT and maybe give DT a listen. Opinions?

For those who never did believe in Kevin's music, and Chromakey...you won't get this CD...so don't bother. For those that have supported him from day one, and get his style of music...THIS CD RULES!!!!!!! Also I think Brian Hansen pretty much summed up the album well overall...but personally I hafta give S.O.S. (Sun Orange Small) a 10/10 I've always thought this piece was just brilliant! My only complaint about this CD is it doesn't have "Nora" which I still think is/was Kevin's most emotional song to date. And once again to those Prog fans out there...you prolly don't wanna check this one out...it's definetly mood music, if you can handle mood, and like to relax your brain every once ina while, this disc is for you. Have fun N stuff!

Hi jammers,
If you don't already know it there's a DT interview/concert cybercast the 15th of July, from the concert at the House of Blues in LA in May (or so they say... but didn't they do a HoB cybercast already in december? What's going on?). However, goto www.liveconcerts.com for more info... they've also got the Bruford-Levin Upper Extremeties transmission they did in their archive. That's cool.
Now: I’m in the process of getting rid of a lot of records, and here are some promotional albums that I have received and no longer want. I think a lot of them could appeal to Ytsejammers…
* Angel Dust - Border of Reality (classic German metal w/ lots of keys & fast guitars, Helloween-fans might like it) * Biohazard - Mata Leao * Bruce Dickinson - Accident of Birth * Dub War - Wrongsideofbeautiful (hardcore/reggae/rap… crossover) * Fleetwood Mac - The Dance * Graveland – The Celtic Winter (primitive mid-tempo blast-beat black metal) * Helloween - The Time of the Oath * Helloween - Better Than Raw * Katatonia - Discouraged Ones (gothic depressive music from former black metal band) * Legenda - Autumnal (slow keyboard-dominated black/doom/goth metal) * Mercyful Fate - Into The Unknown * Misanthrope – Visionnaire (symphonic, twin-guitars + keys-driven goth metal w/ french growling, great!) * Morgul – Lost in Shadows Grey (average black metal w/ some keys) * Old Man's Child - Ill-Natured Spiritual Invasion (fast, technical, well-played death/black metal w/ neo-classical elements & keys) * Scorpions - Pure Instinct * Send No Flowers - Juice (post-grungy hard rock w/ former Electric Boys-member and Tool-like-singer) * Slapshot - Olde Tyme Hardcore * Various Artists - Great Expectations OST (good soundtrack incl two Tori Amos songs (Finn, Siren) and Chris Cornell solo! (Sunshower))
All records are promo copies in either thin or cardboard cases, or plastic bags w/ or w/o inserts. $6 per disc (+ postage) or $100 for all of them (incl postage).
Mail me at: d94-mry@nada.kth.se if you’re interested in any of these.
One more DT-thing: I still haven’t heard or read anything about what the lounge jazz version of UaGM that’s been played after shows is? Who did it? Is it available?

Whas up in da YtseJam Hiz-owse...
I have a question for all of you Marillion fans...I was at a used CD place a few months ago and picked up a CD by Marillion called "Sympathy". It said that it was the first of a two part set, with the second coming out shortly. I gave it a listen and wasn't too impressed - have never seen the CD again in any other CD place. Is this a good example of what Marillion sounds like? I didn't wanna get any of the other albums that were recommended here until I found out if they sounded similar. Also, is the second part any better? Does it even EXIST?
Thanks -

Hello all,
Well, our classic rock station here delivered the goods last night. They played DT on their new music showcase show. They also played new songs from Dave Matthew's, Kenny Wayne Shepard, and Richie Sambora. Oh, and what song did they play . . . New Millenium!! Before he played it, the DJ talked about how DT is a fan supported band, and that their label doesn't get behind them much. So after the song I called up pretending to be the average listener, and asked who they just played, and I told him it was awesome and that they had to play them more. I had my friend call and do the same thing. It sounded like they got a bunch of positive calls based on what the DJ said after the break. He said they'll try and get more DT on the radio in the future. So if anyone feels like it they should go to http://96wcmf.com and tell them that you heard NM, and that you want to hear more. Ahh, you gotta love hearin' DT on the radio.

Last night I was lucky enough to see Big Wreck live here in Indianapolis and I must say I'm damn glad I had that chance. It was great to see them play in front of an audience who actually appreciated them, they were even singing along! And the band was happy and having FUN this time. It was awesome. Definitely a new Big Wreck fan here. Glad I am one who was able to keep an open mind.

My apologies for bringing this to the attention of the public forum, but I have no other options.
Yes, this is another post about Dr. Mosh and his sordid little business, and I did warn him that I would "take this public". My complaint? He hasn't spanked me silly in quite some time now, despite promises that I would get my vigorous hanky-panky "as soon as possible". His website used to show that I was number 6 on his list of people to boink. I've emailed him every hour on the hour for the last 7 days, all the time polite, but every time more frustrated as my lusts are not fulfilled. Now his website shows that everyone through number 24 has been duly slipped the Moshage, yet my order has not come through.
Granted, Mosh has said he's had some problem emails regarding his "services", but the problem is he doesn't reply to me anymore. It used to be that I'd send him sweet nothings every day and he'd always write back. Now he doesn't even have time to tell me he's got a headache, or he's washing his cat, or any other such lame excuse.
Sure, I used to be a frequent, well paying customer of his, and I was always deeply satisfied with his work. But what has he done for me lately? I want what I've got coming to me and more, or I'm gonna whine and raise high hell in a public forum where no one cares about my little personal tragedies.
Dr Mosh, you've brought this upon yourself with your weasal-like business practices. All I want is the swift and severe bondage session I've got coming to me. Too much to ask for? Gosh, I hope not...

Maybe I jumped the gun on the 'affordable' Enchant's 'Time Lost', given that the band's Web site gives the impression that this will soon be available domestically and that Laser's Edge just got 15 copies of it (with no indication of price, however). We can only hope, right? I still think it's gonna happen, it's just a question of when.
Speaking of Laser's Edge, they have a 'new releases' section with a ton of discs, but there are no prices listed. What's up with that?
BTW, Big Wreck show last night. It was GREAT to see them in front of an really enthusiastic crowd. Are they vastly different from DT? Yep. Were they incredible? Yep.

MDB: The Angel And The Dark River is among the best CD's I have in a collection of about 300 CD's. Anyone who has listened to this CD and thought of it as boring, bad or whatever should give it a few more listens. It's full of emotion. And I mean FULL. It's very melodic, melancholic and slow, but still very heavy. The vocals are somber and clean, and screams out, like all the instruments (violin, keyboard, guitar), "emotion!", "emotion!". When listening to this CD, it's like being on a long journey. And when it ends, you're full of memories. It's hard to explain, but this CD is a masterpiece. Andrew, please give this CD a second chance. The album is unique. Like Gods of the Sun was a little dissapointment (allthough most consider it a good album) for almost every fan of My Dying Bride. That album is far more upbeat, and has an emphasis more on heavy guitars with fuzz.
To read more description of MDB: TAATDR, and get to know more of my musical tastes, please go visit http://www.colargol.idb.hist.no/~einarg/CDSITE.html
Briefly put - If I had to name cd's I appreciate the most, I would have said: 1. MDB-TAATDR, 2. DT-I&W, 3. Paradise Lost - Draconian Times , 4. FW-APSOG, 5. Savatage-Gutter Ballet (plus all other Savatage disc I have :) , 6. Metallica - ...AJFA , 7. Marillion - Misplaced Childhood.
Everyone: Check out My Dying Bride - The Angel And The Dark River! :)
