Hi, there! There was a guitarist in Metal Church whose name is Vanderhoof. He has a new band simply called Vanderhoof and they opened for Savatage two years ago. The guy and his band suck, to say at least. A bit modernized Metal Church sound and actually the same songwriting approach. I used to like their last album "Hanging in the balance". Has anyone heard new Van Halen single or album? It's out this Friday and I've read very good reviews, though it's very different from previous VH albums. Take care. Jacob. provibe@club-internet.fr

Just to second (or third, or forth... :) ) the many people who are about to say...

    LTE is FANTASTIC. :)

I picked my copy on Saturday... but I haven't really listened to the whole thing until today... so does that count? :)

Thanks to all the musicians involved for such an incredible album.

Hi again, this time it is urgent! Three places next to me was a young beautiful girl (first row, center). She was with her girlfriend and another guy which seemd to be with her girlfriend. After the show, we talked a bit - She showed me her new T-shirt.

SO IF YOU ARE THIS GIRL - Please mail me, I promise not be too shy again ;-)

Hi Folks, I am just returned from the Munich Gig. It was marvelous. They played such a lot of songs. Incredible. I have seen 5 Gigs from DT now, and must admit this one was one of the best. Funnny thing: The guy next to me played the drum solo with Portney. BUT I AM THE DRUMMER, he was a keyboarder - is this justice???

If somebody has a tape, I would like to buy or to trade it

Just new to the list--fan since IAW--the Liquid Tension CD rocks--seen them 3 times live--FII is the best of 'em all--met JL,MP,JP and JM in Las Vegas before the show. All in all, DT is the finest, most talented band on the planet. Thanks for reading.

If you do not have this album yet, hey, sucks for you. It rocks! I also picked up Royal Hunt and Fates APSOG. Havn't heard them yet, but I'm sure they're good. Later.... Andrew

Hey Jammers-- Any idea about how long it usually takes to get your membership packet from the fan club? I mailed my money order and information to the new address Feb. 16 and I've yet to receive anything. This isn't a complaint, I'm just wondering. I really don't know what I'm getting anyway other than the Images and Words magazine (btw, how many issues are released in a year? I assumed four) and the legendary annual Christmas CD. Anything else (not that this isn't plenty for only $15)? Thanks.

    Jamers,

Yesh! NO ONE carries real music anymore! I long ago left local stores to get all my cd's online, but now they don't even carry stuff!

    I cant find:

The new Symphony X album (Olympus) The new Enchant album (Time Lost)

I've tried CD Universe and CDNow, but neither carry them. Is there a better online store out there that carries these cd's? Please point me in the direction of the light.

PS. Also, CD Universe has had my Superior (Behind) album backordered forever... I NEED THAT CD!

    Thanks

WILL THE REAL MIKE PORTNOY PLEASE STAND UP?????

OK (gulp) here goes.... Hey everybody, It's me......FOR REAL ! (sorry Noodles84 - but nice meeting you!)

I'm on tour right now in Europe and everything is going great. I get to check in here every once in a while (yes, big brother is watching!) and I figured I'd come out of the cyber-closet to put an end to this BIG MYSTERY!

Why now? Well, for starters - Through the past year and a half, this email address has somehow gotten into the hands of many DT fans, so my privacy has become less & less.....

Then I figured if my friends Charlie (hey bud- I'll drop you a private email when I get a chance..) and Derek (hey bud- I'll see you at soundcheck in a few hours...polish up them shoes!) can come out & play, why shouldn't I ?? I have always considered myself DT's biggest fan anyway, so I should be here with you guys!!

Now of course there will be the big debate, as there was with Derek & Charlie, as to whether or not this Portnoy420 dude is for real or not.... For those believers, you will find NO better source for the truth and latest updates with Dream Theater. For those who don't believe.....oh well....sorry! My sister Sam could always try to persuade you. (Hey Sis!!)

I will do my best to drop in every so often to pass on the latest news, information and fashion tips from Nicky Lemons. I'll also read any mail you send, so feel free to drop a line if you'd like... I have to say up front...I won't have time to reply to you all, so please don't take it personally if you don't hear back. It's busy enough on tour, and when I'm home - I spend all my free time with my wife Marlene & daughter Melody. But I will keep your name (if you'd like) to put on a mailing list for possible mailings of info, updates, etc....

That's all!! Gotta run! We got a show in Munich tonight.

    Carpe Diem, Mike Portnoy

PS - What the hell are you doing on-line today anyway? You should be at the record shops buying the LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT CD that was released today!!!! (shameless plug!)<

What do you make of it?

AHHHHHHH my god my eyes are tearing... man that is hystericle...

    Anyway, just writing to complain about the morons in the music stores... I went to three places tonight for LTE and the first stared at me because apparently i had grown another head... the second's eyes just clouded over and he just said "uhh, no i dont think thats in" and the third, who had multicolored hair and holes in way too many places had the BRAINS to look in the computer and find it... So that goes to show that not all freaks are morons. Only been listening to the cd for a little while now so havent heard much yet but so far I like... And I just love the way Mike expresses his love for guitarists in the booklet :}

    > tim-when are you going to send the tapes you owe me? it's been over a year!

hahahah. I've heard this statement many times for many years. Best idea is not to trade with him. No offense Tim, but it sounds to me like you suck. Just don't start another Pat vs. Al thing. heheh. It was like a brilliant day when Al payed up to Pat. I could've swore I saw the sun shine out my ass for a moment I was so swelled with joy.

I got mine from The German Music Express at http://www.musicexpress.com/ I'm not even sure it is still available, and it's gonna cost you an arm and a leg, but at least it was worth it and I can legally park in handicapped areas now. :)

After the brief SK discussion last week, I went to BVB music and promptly ordered Jason's solo album. My opinion: anyone who is a fan of SK and likes the post Lizard stuff (cuz Jason sings on it) should get this. To me, it's the 5th SK album. And don't worry, it only took them 3 days to send it. I like that kind of service.

In review, it reminds me of a mix of Devil in the Details and the self-titled SK disc mostly. There's a great variety of styles and the production is excellent IMO. It's really worth the money spent.

Moo-Rah! ~KorgX3 turns into a Silverhawk and flies around the room.

All I can say is WOW. Pick this album up NOW, dudez and dudettes. Great sounding stuff. After 1 time through, the early fave is "Kindred Spirits". It's frightening how great that song is.

This is to answer some e-mail I have received concerning Mark. I was only KIDDING when I mentioned he was pissed/disappointed about the DT Xmas CD. (Re: the Jam about a week ago). A bigger fan you could not find, except for me, and a nicer guy...well again except for me. So to those of you who wrote me in his defense...thank you but it was only a "harmless" attempt at some internet-world-wide-humor. OK now why did the farmer cross the road?
