That, or maybe the Scarred solo. Or Voices. Or LiTS. Or the middle of
LTL. There are too many to choose from with JP.

What is Manson like? Looks like a more fucked up version of NIN to
me...Any musical value?
Ya gotta love Spring Break.

Hello all...
I'm behind in reading jams, and I just read Arash's post about the
tracklisting for the new DT...I was wondering if this is reliable shit
or merely speculation? And to the guy that said "they already made
I&W"...good point, I was thinking that myself. By the way has anyone
out there heard a band called Psychotic Waltz? They're a kickass
prog-metal band out of CA...you should check them out if you get a
chance. Don't be expecting anything as complex or virtuosic as DT, but
they're great nonetheless...also...any fans of (much) heavier
jazz/fusion influenced shit, check out the solo record by Fredrik
Thordendal. He's the lead guitarist of Meshuggah, and there is some
awesome shit on that disc. The actual title is Fredrik Thordendal's
Special Defects-"Sol Niger Within" It's on Nuclear Blast (europe only)
and it's a killer 41 minute tune...if you like complex, heavy shit,
you'll love it (and it got a good reviewfrom Modern Drummer) Well
that's enough shit. Gotta run.
Bobby (bathing in the poison as always) <--NOT the lame band
P.S. as to JLB's haircut...all I can say is...there goes another one.
He still rules obviously.

Good idea! Let's do it. And you're absolutely right that we should
all vote for the "Under a Glass Moon" solo, because it won't help if
we all vote for different solos.

aah...refreshing realization of the true meaning of a song. thanx Bri.
i completely agree that whether the song is 20 minutes long or 3 minutes
long, if it gets the message across that it was meant to, it's worth
it. i listen to DT because i love the way they inject emotion into
every song that they write, every second represents its own
feeling...every note a cry of hope or a cry of misery or a thousand
emotions in between. music touches the soul, and DT achieves that more
than anyone can hope for. that's all i have to say about that.
(*phew*)
by the way, happy birthday brian! and don't worry, alcohol will be
legal soon enough... ;^P

"Eve" did come on the 3" bonus disc with the Japanese Awake, but I believe
the item in question that MP does not own is the 3" disc that has "Tears"
(Rush) on it, which was given to those who mailed in the little slip that
came with the Japanese ACOS. "Return this slip for a free limited edition

T. Bozzio is a god on drums. He's from the early (70's) school of
prog/fusion playing. Yes, he can do ANYTHING with seperate limbs and
tempo's---- I've got a instructional video of his where he demonstrates
a SICK level of limb seperation. He worked with Jeff Beck a bunch. Check
out "Beck's Guitar Shop". Then he did some "radio" stuff w/Missing
Persons in the 80's.
Question. Who has drummer Dean Castronovo worked with ? Which CD's
should I get to hear more of his prog/fusion playing ? He ROCKS on
Working Man !! I mean DAMN, he's a hot one !!

NO SHIT !!! I saw this guy with Extreme and I was COMPLETELY blown
away....talk about limb independance !! I've never seen a drum kit like
his either ! His mount toms didn't sweep to either side in descending
size !! Smallest was center, then they alternated !! Like nothing I've
EVER seen !! How does one describe this....let's see...6" center, 8"
right, 10" left, 12" right, 14" left etc.....he'd play left handed a
while, then right handed then half and half !! I mean he'd ride with
left hand and sometimes use his LEFT foot for bass drum, then he'd use
his right foot, then he'd ride with right hand and switch feet back and
forth!! It was a TOTAL mind fuck for a drummer to see !! You should've
seen him go around his toms !! He's start at the center (smallest) and
seperate his hands right hand going right and left hand going left each
hitting the toms twice....kinda like half a double stroke roll per hand
FAST.
Ok. Enough outta me...but drummers If you EVER get a chance to see this
man play...GO SEE HIM !!!
Any other jammers in South Carolina ?? Just wondering...respond
privately please. :)

Be careful, it might just have been witty "sarcasm", right Graham?
But even though I think Graham's response was a little overdone, I have to
agree with the sentiment. If you go through life looking for evils like
this, of course you're going to find a few. If the band was called "We Are
Superior", and was a bunch of skinheads singing songs about racial hate, I
might even agree with the assessment. But taking the nationality and
one-word name of the band and forming a wild-assed accusation like that is
ludicrous at best... and slanderous at worst.

Okay...just wanted to set the record straight. If that was, in fact,
intended as a joke, then I apologize for my response. But people, please
realize that humor doesn't always translate well in this medium...if
something is a joke, make sure there is something indicating it as such. As
we've seen a bit lately, the humor is not always as obvious to the reader
as it was to the poster.

Sorry but for me some subjects just aern't funny at all and the Superior
gag is one of them.
As for Germans not having a sense of humour about this: My best friend is
German (loves jokes)
but if I was stupid enough to say something like that, (even) as a joke,
I'd expect to be laid flat

He played in Neal Schon's band, Hardline... more of an AOR type rock band,
but some of his most impressive stuff is on Tony MacAlpine's Maximum Security.
He also played on tour with Geezer Butler... I still kick myself for missing
that...
I'm not too keen on what else he has played on.

I agree with the fact that Graham probably was a bit harsh on this dude...but I also agree with Graham that stuff like that has no place on the jam....stereotypically, but subtly, accusing all Germans of being nazi's is a little over the top...(that's what he did!) If that was the casae the jam would be filled with Christian condemning the Norwegian band "Emperor", and Homosexuals and feminists condemning "Anal Cunt"... Quite simply...get over it...If you don't like the name.....bad luck...if it was a joke....bordering on poor taste.....
But politics and religion aren't allowed on the jam...right?
