Dammit! The liveconcerts cybercast of the HOB show cut off right as
the encore was beginning. Right when the opening strains of
Metropolis started, the player stopped. Fuckers.

Whew! I'm glad I wasn't the only one who tried to record the concert
(well, duh, Matt -- everybody prolly thought about it)... I'm also glad
it wasn't just me who ran into the same hi-bandwidth problem... I about
shot my computer trying to get the hi-bandwith connection working.
Unprofessional. It wasn't even because of net congestion (which I
understand), and was down forever for me (too long, obviously).

Now, who's going to boot *tommorw* night's show in any capacity? All
different show? Different setlist? Whoa! Way cool! I wish I could get
    down to LA. ^_^

    SPOILERS BELOW!

Okay, maybe it isn't much, but I loved all the little things that got
tossed into the concert. Things like the ever-present Exit Stage Left
drum solo bits in Mike's solo, the Flight of the Bumblebee in John's solo,
the Close Encounters of the Third Kind reference at the beginning of TOT,
and all the cool bits (was it Have a Cigar during PS? Can't exactly
remember). Way cool. And what was the intro Derek played at the very
beginning of the conert? Way cool.

Can't wait for the tour to end so James can rest his vocal cords and the
bunch of them can get into the studio!

OK...I'm only about 49 JAMS behind but....here goes. **FIRST..MP, you are the ABSOLUTE MAN !! Santa LIVES !! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.** ;) I drove 450 miles through the fog and rain (mostly) in the mountains of NC,TN,and KY to get there. Once there, while looking for a hotel room and TOTALLY lost, I got pulled over and as 3 more cop cars formed around my out of state car, I was told to get out...the ASSHOLES searched my car and proceeded to give me several fucking citations. My rushed court hearing the next morning (after 7hrs on the road and 3 in the bed) only cost me $460 !! The fuckers even charged me the $45 court fee 3 times !!! You guys in Cinci can HAVE your fucking law enforcement! We then went back to the room and began working on a banner for Mike's jam room. After several hours getting it just right...we fucked it up! I had to go get more poster board and start over. <grrr> We FINALLY finished it *just* in time to make the show. Got there later than I wanted to and had a HUGE line already there...I knew then that my shot at front row was out the window and MP would prolly not see this damn thing that was the cause of my not being there as early as I wanted to. Doors open...total chaos ensues.... Full on the mouth opened and sounded great (even though half of their sound was being played from a DAT or something). Annies in Cinci SUX !! It was WAYYYYY to small and so hot that JLB was cussing when he asked if we were also "Fucking hot as hell"...we responded LOUDLY. It made no difference. DT kicked ass <doesn't that go without saying?> but it was SO hot, that after I managed to squirm my way to *near* the front, I had to retreat because of the heat and some people's lack of hygeine (sp?). I mean somefuckingbody WREAKED !! BADLY !! Honestly, I'm not at all clausterphobic, and I was about to pass out! After giving up my *closer* spot the second time for fresh air, MP went into his solo. <ARRRRRGGGHHHHH> I also missed the chance to be up front for the drum/audience thing he does. I did manage to get close during HY (MP played a smaller kit at the front of the stage) and I *kinda* showed him the poster. He smiled and pointed a stick at me. After the show, a crowd was waiting for them by the bus (of course) and I DESPERATLY wanted a photo with MP at least. We still had the poster because I wanted to get a photo of myself and MP holding it before I gave it to him. I was about to come out of my skin with anticipation as I saw DS signing some autographs. I thought "Here we go!!". Boy was I ever wrong. Derek quickly disappeared into the bus and the bouncers announced that "the band was NOT going to sign ANYTHING and we needed to get the HELL out of there!". Again, chaos ensues...people cussing, yelling, bitching, argueing, etc... One really loud mouthed kid beside me got dragged across the parking lot by his pony tail (LITERALLY) by a bouncer who was tired of hearing him!!! We waited another 1/2 hr anyway, then left totally heartbroken about the entire thing. I did give the poster to a bouncer and ansked him to PLEASE give it to MP. I wonder if he did? Oh well, so much for two days on the road and about 600 bucks. The Masquerade in Atlanta (Dec.16,1997) was incredible!! Shame I wasn't prepared and had no camera. Too bad Annies was such a heartbreaker. But guess what? It was STILL worth it ! Highlight : Went to sound check, got in, and was allowed to go ON STAGE and take a couple quick pictures of MP's kit up close and personal !! Also got a GREAT looking hat, shirt, and tour book.

Wondering if a picture of himself and MP will EVER be taken :< Zildjian

Yeah, Braindance is fantastic. If you want to hear some great music that creates a dark atmosphere along with phenomenal vocals, pick up Braindance's "Fear Itself". The guitar, bass and drums are all very tight. They move from fast, driving sections to more atmospheric sections where they build a dark mood. The vocalist has an amazing range and an extremely powerful voice. The strength of his voice reminds me of Geoff Tate, though they don't sound much alike. It's a great album.

I can't decide how I feel about this project. I never like buying bootlegs, but there's some other things that bother me about selling this on CD. First, it was publicly broadcast over the internet (even tho' it was cut a few times) so anyone could have taped it. If one didn't do so, 100 other people will have taped and can trade for it. Second, Bahr's SoC didn't come from the RA stream. It's a soundboard from a couple of different sources that didn't come off a lc.com feed (from what I'm told). I urge you to price this disc pretty low, like no more than $10, since it's going to be in the Liveconcerts archives (hopefully uncut) in about a month (according to a friend at their tech support department, and the "DJ" before the show).

This isn't meant as a hit specifically against Bogie, I just have a problem with people releasing for profit something that was freely available last night and will be permanently freely available in the next month or so (in their concert archives). Take care all, and think about TRADING for your live material. IMO, it really preserves the integrity of the music...
